A delightful little cottage next door to the friendly owner with off road parking.

Everything that you need is provided, the washing machine was very useful. The view from the sofa was beautiful, despite the typical North East weather and teeming rain. It was so peaceful, all you can hear are the birds. Well situated for visiting local attractions and shopping. A lovely little home from home.

Great place - the view alone is worth the price (Awesome).

Beautiful cottage with what we imagine must be beautiful views, we must come back in the summer to experience it properly.

The cottage was well equipped, home away from home, we left our slow cooker in the car as there was one provided and my partner loved the coffee machine. Luna loved the garden, and the muddy play on the fields behind the cottage. Thank you for a wonderful stay

I was very dissapointed in the lack of cleanliness in the property. Dirty toilet on arrival, bathroom didnt appear to have been cleaned, lots of dust, heated towel rail appears to have not been cleaned for a long time as well as the bottom of the coat hanger in bathroom .Bathroom door didnt close properly. Bathroom cabinet inside was dirty and full of what appeared to be discarded items Bins dirty and no bin bags in them .Grill had not been cleaned and under /behind toaster , lamps full of cobwebs , are some examples of what I found. When leaving, removed duvet cover as requested, found large stains on duvet, which im glad I had not seen before sleeping in the bed. Wardrobe in bedroom was used as storage of bedding and cleaning materials. Facilities are okay if were clean and tidy , good enclosed garden for dogs , though grass was long. Cottage was warm. Owner responded very quickly when I informed them toaster was broken and replaced it the next day . No fireworks, which was why I had chosen this property and lots of great walks within 10 - 25minute drive . Owner gave a reason why property hadn't been cleaned properly when I informed them !! Not sure it accounted for the state of uncleanliness i found .

One of the best places that we have stayed in.

Loads of cooking utilites including a dual air fryer. Loads of great walks which we always look for with us taking our dog. Nice secure garden for your dog and off road parking. Met the owner who was very nice and gave us a few walking tips. Barnard Castle just a 10 to 15 minute drive away where you will find plenty of pubs and eating places as well as a morrisons and co-op. The local pub was just a 10 minute walk and the locals were very friendly. We will be looking to go back but in the spring/summer as the garden is a sun trap. Lucky for us the weather was good despite it being the end of October.

A generously equipped holiday cottage situated in a little-known but beautiful village.

We are an older couple whose walking days are over but this was a perfect place for our dog and for exploring the area in our own way. Would recommend to anyone looking for a quiet retreat away from the main tourist attractions.

Dale View was simply beautiful, the owners have made it really homely and comfortable.

Parking was off road and a large space. Plenty of china, glasses, cutlery and kitchen equipment. The view from the front was gorgeous and don’t be put off by the wind and rain that seems to appear most nights, a mile down the road it is beautiful sunshine. This makes a cosy night in perfect. Plenty to enjoy around the area and a haven for walkers. Loved it xxxxx

We found it finished to a high standard, it was warm and cozy. The kitchen was fully equipped and everything exceptionally clean. The view from the cottage was stunning and the enclosed garden a real benefit as we had our dog. We had plenty to do and see as the location meant we were central to museums, castles, lovely walks and shopping. The owners had obviously put a lot of effort into the cottage and it showed, we will definitely be back as it was a wonderful holiday.

Wish we’d booked for longer, it was a lovely cottage, great garden for our staffy Yogi and our grandson made friends with the boy next door, the village pub wasn’t open but not a problem as we went out for days and had meals out, the surroundings are beautiful and so peaceful, couldn’t ask for more, loved it.

The garden is brilliant for dogs fully enclosed. The property had everything we needed and beautiful decor . Fantastic location for country parks .

A very comfortable cottage in a beautiful area.

Dean and Toni were very welcoming and on hand if I needed anything. The cottage is clean and well equipped and has the most amazing views. It was lovely watching the house martins darting about, even if they are very messy! Teesdale has much to offer. It's worth visiting Barnard Castle, Bishop Auckland, Raby Castle and the magnificent High Force. Also Beamish is not too far away. I've had a great holiday, thank you.

A lovely cottage, surrounded by beautiful countryside, set in a small village.

The cottage was very comfortable, evgerything required was provided, and a very comfortable bed, slept very well. Will deffinately stay again.

Nice cottage in a good location.

Hamsterley Forest, Barnard Castle and Durham are all worth a visit. We had a lovely week, especially as we were lucky enough to have lovely weather.

We had a lovely stay, lots to do in the area especially if you like walking or biking, House Martins nesting around the property putting on fantastic ariel displays.

Lots of wildlife in the area. Owners were friendly and helpful, tea and coffee was supplied, kitchen facilities were great everything you could need with air fryer, coffee machine, toaster, Kettle, oven and hob. They also sell fresh eggs and if they don't have any there are plenty of neighbors who also sell them. All in all a great place to stay.

We had a great time at cottage, great view out of rear patio doors across fields, Some great places to visit with our dog in area.

Absolutely fantastic stay accommodation was spot on everything we needed for a enjoyable holiday.

Our dog Mia loved the 2 level garden chasing her ball down onto the grass. The hosts we always available without being intrusive. They gave us some good areas to go for a walk our collie loved the forest walk around hamsterville I think that is what it was called. She enjoyed going for a paddle in the stream and investigating all the new smells. Already thinking of booking for next year

Peaceful, comfortable long weekend at Dale View.

We really enjoyed our stay here and could have easily stayed for longer. The cottage is well equipped with all the facilities you could need. Decor is modern and nice and clean. Actually deceptively big inside! Thank you.

Home from home with the added benefit of a log burner

We had a very relaxed and peaceful one month stay at Dale View, and cannot fault it.

The hosts were extremely lovely and helpful - welcomed us, immediately addressed any queries we had and were very accommodating. We loved seeing all their animals, dogs and horses, and the cottage itself is just so easy to live in with a very comfortable sofa, lovely wood/coal burner, great bath/shower and excellent cooking facilities and all the equipment you need for it. Very peaceful - highly recommend a stay there.

Small but beautifully put together cottage.

Everything we needed- coffee machine was a big plus. Owners were very friendly and welcoming but not intrusive. Location was great; lots to do in the surrounding area. Hamsterly Forest 10 mins, Lower force / High force 20 mins.

We recently spent a week at this delightful little cottage with our two dogs.

We found the accommodation very comfortable and extremely well equipped with everything needed to make a pleasant stay. I was really thankful for the anti slip mat in the bath, something that's not even provided in 5 star hotels. The views from the front across the vale onto the hills beyond are lovely on a clear day but sadly the weather wasn't always in our favour. The little enclosed garden was very handy to let the dogs into. We would like to thank the owners for the welcome pack of bread, eggs, milk etc. The only downfall of the holiday was that we didn't get to meet the lady owner but hopefully we will next time we book, as we would like to return again one day.

The velux windows need blinds otherwise the living room can get very hot and light for sleeping in summer months when using the bed settee.

Chairs and settee not very comfortable and outside furniture very poor. Friendly, helpful and welcoming owners.

The cottage was nice and clean.

My sole purpose of renting this cottage was because it was advertised as an enclosed garden, which would have been ideal for my pet dog, unfortunately as soon as we got there it was obvious that the enclosed garden is not actually attached to the house, so you could not have the door open to let the dog out, without him going around the building onto the main road. Also when sitting in the enclosed garden the dogs from next door were at the small picket fence barking at my dog and trying to get underneath the fence, By the end of the second day, the dog was so stressed, and so was my husband and myself, with the garden situation, that we decided to leave, and go home. I did recommend to the owner that the house needed to be more secure for pets, and that it was a bit of false advertisement in my opinion. Not a lot of privacy here either, very much overlooked.

We had a lovely week and would recommend this property to others.

It was clean and comfortable. It was a cold week when we were on holiday(actually snowed on the Thursday) and the cottage did feel a bit chilly when we arrived. We did turn up the electric heaters and lit the wood burner but didn't really have enough wood to keep it going, definitely buy some logs if you are wanting to use the log burner(which is what we did). We were warm enough after we did this though, so not a problem, plenty of hot water too. Lots of lovely places to visit in the local area and everyone we met were extremely friendly. We would definitely love to come back.
