This elegant Victorian mid-terraced house, is situated in the traditional Hornsea seaside resort.
With just a few minutes walk to both the seafront and all amenites, it's the perfect spot for families and friends to spend time together in a superb property.
Beautifully renovated to the highest of standards, it retains much of the original character and features,from the decorative cast iron fireplaces to the high ceilings.
On the ground floor is a stylish sitting room, with a large bay window throwing in plenty of light and an attractive parquet floor.
An open fire lends itself to cosy winter evenings in, while doors open onto the family dining room.
The contemporary kitchen has a lovely slate floor and all the fixtures and fittings that you will need during your stay, including an ever popular wine chiller!
To one end of the kitchen is an additional comfy seating area, with a warming woodburning stove, enabling guests to spread out in this spacious property.
A useful cloakroom and utility completes the ground floor.
Upstairs, set over two floors with half-landings are six bedrooms, all immaculately furnished with quality beds and mattresses.
With two zip/link super-kings, they provide very flexible sleeping arrangements to suit all needs.
Outside, there is a rear, sheltered paved courtyard garden, where you can sit and relax with a morning coffee in the sunshine.
A ten minute walk brings you into the centre of this Victorian coastal town, with a good selection of independent shops, pubs and tea rooms.
There are long, sandy beaches and a pretty promenade and ornamantal gardens to enjoy.
Close is Hornsea Mere - a large, natural lake that offers water activities, whilst for a little retail therapy, there is Hornsea Freeport retail outlet.
The surrounding area has much to offer the holiday maker, with the high, chalk cliffs at Bempton RSPB reserve, home to colonies of sea birds, the wonderful rolling countryside of the Yorkshire Wolds and stately homes and gardens, including Wassand Hall.

We visited 8 Wilton Road as a group of friends to celebrate a joint birthday, it included 4 families, 9 adults, 4 children and 1 dog.
Our host Wendy had left us with a welcome pack that included a bottle of Prosecco, some milk and a home baked cake (it was delicious) which was a lovely gesture. Wendy checked in with us prior to arrival and at a couple of points during our stay to ensure we were comfortable. The house its self was better than I had expected from the pictures online, it had 3 spaces downstairs that acted as group hubs for games, meals and socialising. We spent much of the weekend in the house having eaten in both nights and due to having young children members of the group dipping back regularly. The kitchen was big enough to prepare meals while remaining involved in the group, especially with comfy seating available. Their were all the utensils and crockery required for meal preparation and all domestic appliances worked well. Bedrooms were all good sizes and there were ample toilets / showers etc. The distance to the seafront and centre of Hornsea was less than a 10 min walk including with young children. If I was trying to be critical the 2 areas I would say some people may have issues, there are lots of stairs which some children may struggle with. However, I stayed on the top level with my 6 and 10 year old and they were fine, actually quite enjoyed going up and down. The rear garden area while enclosed and dog safe is a modest size. However, there is a grass area directly outside the front door and a large field areas ideal for dog walking within 2 minutes, also you can walk a nice route to the coast line. All in all this is a great holiday home and Hornsea is a beautiful little town with lots of quirky areas, its not overly busy and ideal for a family to explore. Everyone in our group stated that they would revisit both Hornsea and 8 Wilton Road.

Our family group of 3 generations stayed here for the second year running.
The house is very large with plenty of space for everyone to do their own thing. Highlights for the kids were the huge fridge freezer with ice cube facility and the smart TV. We just loved the easy walk to the beach and swimming pool one way, and to the town centre the other way.
The owner couldn't be more helpful .
.. we even had an unexpected surprise waiting for us in the fridge - a delightful "home made" Victoria Sponge Cake plus a Bottle of Bubbly (my wife's birthday during our stay). Even little things like Charcoal for the BBQ and everything you could require for our one year old niece. The place was wonderful with more than all you could need and require. I fully recommend this superb, well kept gem to anyone!

Wow what an amazing house!
Family holiday with all ages and the house was just perfect, clean and so much room. The house had everything you could possibly think of. Wendy was so lovely and so helpful. We didn't want to come home. Currently arranging dates to book again
We really enjoyed the house, we had 3 families share this house and very comfortable for 12 people.
It’s very close to shops and short walk to the beach. The host was very accessible to answering questions. Overall we had a lovely stay in a lovely house.
What a wonderful place!
A great layout, lots of space and good mix of room set up for kids and adults. It makes such a difference having a bathroom on each floor plus an en suite and downstairs toilet. We did lots of cooking, the kitchen was great and plenty of equipment. Pans could do with upgrading as they aren't non stick any more and a bigger coffee pot for all us caffeine drinkers
8 Wilton Road is a lovely spacious characterful property, containing everything you could want.
This even included basic things like soap, loo rolls, logs for the fire etc. In my experience, these things are rarely provided. There was even milk, bubbly and a very large scrummy home made cake in the fridge for our arrival! Fantastic for a large group, and also very dog friendly. Our labradors loved curling up in front of the woodburner in the kitchen after a run on the beach. We had no problem parking our 3 cars in front of the property, and shops and beach are only a few minutes walk. Wendy was very helpful, and keen to know we were ok and had eveything we needed. We will definitely return again at some point in the near future.

This was a family weekend together for 10 people and 3 generations.
I had contacted Wendy and she responded quickly and was most helpful. We found the house welcoming with fresh flowers, a delicious cake, bubbly and milk upon arrival. The house was exactly as described amd was spotlessly clean with 6 comfortable bedrooms, 3 bathrooms ,and everything you needed for your stay. It is very well equipped with all the utensils , crockery etc. The house is within a short to local shops and a Tesco is close by. The beach is about 10 minutes walk. We had an enjoyable weekend and I would recommend to family and friends.

House was very big and gave us lots of space. It was very clean with plenty off everything you needed to start your holiday off. Lovely cake and a bottle of bubble with tea, coffee + a bottle of milk to great us. Children loved the space and no arguments because they where not squashed in a small space. Lovely area to visit. With plenty to see and do.
The perfect holiday house for a large intergenerational family.
Decoration and fixtures were lovely and the children thought they had gone back into history. However, they still appreciated the smart TV and the huge American fridge! Plenty of space for our 3 cars near the house in a very quiet area. But we didn't need them much as literally everything was only a 10 minute walk away. Flowers, a bottle of fizz and the most gorgeous cream cake added to the welcome. The owner was particularly helpful when a mobile phone dropped down behind a radiator and a plumber was needed.
Great position & would have been lovely when new.
Lots of crockery & cutlery. The super king in front bedroom 1st floor was lumpy & uncomfortable. Curtains need hanging back up in lounge & bedroom. Lots of missing light bulbs, dust, walls & skirting boards scruffy & dirty. Shower in 1st floor front bedroom very poor water supply, needs sealing & lots of timescale. The sofas were in a terrible state & very unappealing. Kitchen floor hasn't been mopped in a long time so we did that for them & swept back yard. There are no pretty flowers in the yard! Shame it's in a great location but for us everything needs updating as it's shabby. Cupboard doors are dirty & in need of replacing/TLC. Didn't venture up to 2nd floor as there was only 3 of us so can't comment. We had a problem with locking the sash window in the lounge on first night but the owner came to sort the next day for us no problem. Great communication from Wendy. You are expected to strip the beds & put the garden bins out & we were asked to leave by 10am at the latest which is check out time so expecting people to leave earlier is a little cheeky. The house is well positioned & easy walk for beach & town. With some TLC would be a fabulous house.
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. I’m truly sorry to hear that you were unhappy with aspects of the property during your stay. I was quite surprised to read some of the points raised, as they weren’t mentioned at any time during your visit—even though I checked in to ensure everything was going smoothly. Had we been made aware, we would have done our best to resolve them promptly, just as we did with the window issue. As your booking came through just a few hours before check-in, I personally handled the changeover and can confirm that the floors were thoroughly cleaned and mopped, and the curtains were properly hung when I left the property.
A lovely house.
Well equipped with plenty of space. A few minutes walk from both the town, with shops, bars and places to eat and also the beach. A welcome gift of milk, fizz and a gorgeous homemade cake was a lovely touch. Would definitely visit again.

It is very clean and is well equipped there is so much thought put into the place there is everything you need . It has a beautiful large living room well equipped kitchen, stunning bathrooms and 6 large bedrooms . The owners comuication was great . When we arrived there was a cake
Such a beautiful house!
We had time away with extended family and this house certainly had the space for it. The open fire was a highlight for the kids to have some good old fashioned toast and also brought back happy memories for others. The kitchen had all the utensils, crockery and cutlery needed. All the beds were comfortable and bathrooms very clean and welcoming. The back garden was small but perfect for coffee in the morning and for the kids to get some fresh air. So close to the centre of Hornsea and the seaside. We didn't need to get in the car all weekend. Will definitely recommend this house to others.
A fabulous house, absolutely huge, enough space for all 12 of us.
Really comfortable beds, kitchen well equipped, had everything we needed. Very nice welcome from the owner with a delicious homemade cake & a few essentials, was much appreciated by us all. Would highly recommend. We all loved staying there.
Beautiful, spacious and well equipped house in great location.
We were a multi- generational family group of 9 and there was plenty of space for all of us. The kitchen was well equipped. Hornsea was a great place to stay as well as explore the east coast. Across the road from the house is a path that either takes you down near the beach or up towards Hornsea Mere, so great dog walking trail. If you want to venture further than Hornsea I would recommend a trip to Bempton Cliffs (which were stunning) and Bridlington with long sandy beach. I'm Hornsea in addition to walks on the beach we enjoyed a lovely visit to the Baron Hartley wine bar.
We really enjoyed our 4 night stay, the House is beautiful, exceptionally clean.
So large with a great layout for a group of 12. The kitchen has so many utensils. The location is perfect, there were 5 cars in our group and we all parked easily and never used the cars once. Everything in walking distance. Owners communication is excellent and there was a delicious cake and fizz on arrival. We were celebrating an 80th birthday with a very mixed age group including young children, and everyone loved the house. We would love to stay again sometime.

The enclosed space at the back was great to have too. Great communication from the owner and was lovely to have some essentials and a beautiful cake on arrival!! Perfect location, right on the transpenine trail and a few minutes walk to the seafront. We're already planning on coming back again.

Superb holiday let.
Big enough for a group of 12. We got together for a Diamond Wedding Anniversary and ranged in ages from 81 to 8 and everyone had a fabulous time. Very big, comfortable bedrooms, plenty of bathrooms, good sized living and dining rooms for a large group. Well equipped kitchen too. Can highly recommend. Hornsea itself is a lovely and lively seaside town with a huge array of shops, cafes, pubs etc. and just a stroll to the town or seafront. We were greeted with some basics like milk etc and a bottle of fizz and a fabulous homemade cake which we all enjoyed! Thankyou for a great stay.

A lovely home … just what we needed for 6 adults and three children aged 6 and under.
. Comfortable, clean, well equipped, spacious. An easy walk to the beach or the shops. Parking outside the property was not an issue.the owner was very patient and quick to answer my questions!

The house is beautiful and finished to a high standard. The beds are comfortable and our whole family slept so well. Such a great place for us to all catch up. We haven't seen one another for over six years due to covid and living in Australia and we couldn't have picked a more lovely place! The host Wendy was easy to contact and very attentive. This is our second visit where we get all the family together, all ages love "The Big House" especially the bathand sitting aroung the diniing room table playing games. We all cant wait to return.
Fabulous holiday property.
Extremely well equipped kitchen. We'll all really appreciated and thoroughly enjoyed the home-made cake that was left for us. Great location for town, beach etc. Several of our party are petite and struggled with the large/deep sofa and armchair however using spare pillows helped. We would have no hesitation in staying here again.
Fab property, been twice now and had a great experience both times.
Loads of space for everyone and had everything we needed as a home from home for the week.
The house was perfect for our Christmas break as it provided accommodation and space for the varied age range (75 to 14).
The kitchen worked well for cooking and also as the bar and dance area in the evening. A larger fridge would have been a bonus but we used cool boxes in the outside log store for veg and soft drinks. A lovely warm and well maintained house .

Only 2 minor things The Fridge freezer could be bigger especially when house fully occupied also the knives and forks are small more like desert cutlery !! but plenty if it The kitchen is the best equipped we have been in plenty of glasses , ( nice wine glasses ) plates , pans ,cooking trays and utensils Bedding and towels great and appreciated the soap in all bathrooms and kitchen all beds comfortable and all bedrooms a good size The house felt like a home not just a holiday let 10/10 would recommend Thank you for a lovely stay

Well located just 5 mins from the sea front. Ages from 18 months to 85 all enjoyed the stay.

Beautiful house, ideally placed to walk to the seafront or into town. Plenty of space and lots of cutlery and crockery. Minutes away from both the sea and the amenities of Hornsea with its restaurants, cafes, gift shops and a handy supermarket, the house is in a quiet residential street with the Trans Pennine Way virtually on the doorstep. Great communications with our host Wendy who left us a welcome gift of a delicious cake and a bottle of fizz together with milk and bread - much appreciated, thank you. We had a great few days away and highly recommend this lovely property!
Stunning property and an incredibly welcoming and accommodating host.
All of us had a fabulous time and must have said how beautiful a house it was over and over. Very peaceful location well situated near to Hornsea town centre, the seafront and the Tesco superstore if you need a supermarket. Hope to return!
Just returned home from a terrific week in Hornsea .
Wilton Road is a beautifully presented house in a quiet , perfectly situated location close to the main shops/pubs/ restaurants. My party was there to play golf for which there are multiple fantastic options. The owners we very generous and communicated frequently and swifty dealt with a problem (plumbing) .
Fantastic property.
Great for large families or, like us, the extended family. Very short walk to main shops one direction and even shorter walk the opposite way, to the beach. Host was very welcoming. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The entire house is beautifully maintained.The only down side was parking space. Some days, we had to park on the next street. Rarely did we get 1 car parked outside. That was the only problem (as we had a disabled person in our group)
A really lovely house, plenty of room for 11 of us (three generations).
The kitchen is well stocked with everything we needed and the landlady had thoughtfully left milk and bread etc to welcome us. Location is great, for the town and the promenade, and we had no real difficulty finding street parking for 4 cars. We had a wonderful holiday and would definitely recommend this house.
Our group of 12 had a very enjoyable 3 day cycling break.
We arrived to cake, prosecco, a very nice touch. Everything was top notch, and we wouldn't hesitate to stop there again if we were in the area.

Ideal location with plenty to do over a weekend. Children had lovely time playing hide and seek. Host was fantastic and kept us informed, allowing us to start our break early and leave an hour later then first agreed upon. Very warm welcome with bread, milk, bubbly and a delicious cake upon arrival. Couldn’t ask for more. Would definitely visit again.

Even a birthday card for me!!We all had a lovely stay here! Would definitely recommend it to anyone! Just wish it had a bigger fridge but that’s probably because there was 10 of us staying in the property so there was a lot of food!!Otherwise you can’t fault this property!

.. ever. From arrival to departure we had the best time. Bread, milk, fizz and cake were really thoughtful and delicious! Location was fantastic, we absolutely loved it and didn't want to leave. We came as a big family party to celebrate our first grand-daughter, we all had a fabulous time and wonderful memories have been made.

We were made so welcome with a lovely home-made cake, a bottle of Prossecco, milk and bread. The owners we so helpful when we had a query. Ideal for our 3 generations of grandparents, children and grandchildren as well as 2 dogs. We would love to stay here again.
Great house, great location, great owner.
The perfect stay. We had 3 families stay here - 11 of us in total. Not many cottages in the UK can truly say they can accommodate this amount of people and still have acres of space to yourselves. From Kitchen to Dining Room there was plenty of room for all our families to have such a lovely week. And be together and apart. The whole place was spotless, the beds and bedding was so high quality everyone got a great nights sleep. You are close to all the facilities including the town, beach and Tesco for all your supplies. Wendy left us a starter pack which was brilliant including the most delicious homemade cake. I am loathed to recommend this house too much as we want to come back and don't want it to be too busy! I always like to find a negative to prove that I am not a bot or something. Hornsea internet is terrible, the house had a good router and coverage but it was up and down all week. However it had little worry to us as phone reception on all networks we had was great so didn't need it. Some of us even had 5G at times.

We had an amazing weekend at 8 Wilton Road, the house is beautiful and fully equipped to handle our meals for a group of 12, lots of pans, crockery and utensils all good quality.
We loved the lounge where we were all able to sit in comfort in front of the log fire, and the large kitchen with additional seating and log fire let conversations continue whilst cooking, and the dining room where we all managed to sit around the huge table to eat. All the beds were really comfortable and the bathrooms clean and large enough with ample towels. Wendy the owner was really helpful and made us delicious cake. The outside court yard would be a lovely area to sit in the summer. Within easy reach of both the town and the sea front this house is perfect.

What a wonderful place!
We stayed here for Christmas and it was just perfect. The house suited us all and the area is fantastic. You’re 5 minutes away from the beach and 10 minutes from amenities. You have everything you need and the beds are so comfortable, it was like home from home. Wendy the owner is so accommodating and left a lovely cake, Prosecco, milk and bread on arrival. She was in touch over the weekend to check if we were ok and if we needed anything. I would definitely recommend this house and we will definitely be back

The house was perfect for the 12 of us, large but still felt so cozy, the cake, bread and Prosecco were a lovely treat when we arrived - thank you. Dining table massive for us all to get round and eat, play games etc. Just felt like we were at home and beautiful decorated (the photos don’t do the house justice) The location is amazing, close to the beach, town centre and plenty of little walks and runs close by. We went to all the pubs in the town which we enjoyed aswel as an Indian and Chinese takeaway and chippy- all were spot on. We love Hornsea and the house and will definitely return. Thank you Wendy
We had a great weekend in Hornsea.
The house is gorgeous and was perfect for four couples, four teenagers and one dog. The house was really clean, with plenty of crockery that we weren't having to wash up when we wanted another cup of tea! The house is well situated with a short walk to the beach and into the town. It was great to park the car on Friday evening and then not move it again until we left on Sunday. Thanks to Wendy for the welcome treats, the cake was delicious.

It’s 8 minutes walk to the beach and even less to the town. The house had everything you need and Wendy (the host) was most thoughtful, she had left us essentials and had even baked us a cake. We will definitely be back to enjoy this lovely property again. Highly recommended.

The house we booked is a beautiful house with everything we needed for the week. There is more than enough space and everyone loved being in the house. A short walk to the sea and the lovely little area with shops, restaurants and bars. We had a great time and would love to stay again!
Amazing House, modern, clean, nice quite location.
We stay at a holiday home every year with a large family.
This house didn't have the hot tub,pool or games room that we normally look for but more than made up for this with the location. So much to do around the area and a lovely house with plenty of room for evenings spent in. Great facilities and loads of everything we needed in the kitchen.

Owners were so helpful, welcome pack was a lovely touch. The pictures don't do it justice. A fabulous base to come back to each evening, cannot fault it at all. We'll definitely be returning, with family and friends too. Cannot recommend the property enough. Hornsea is a lovely seaside location, small but perfectly formed. The facilities within the house, the quality and cleanliness of the house exceeded all our expectations; it’s almost like the photos don’t do it justice.
Beds were very comfy, bathrooms and kitchen amazing and the outside area was a lovely, peaceful courtyard; larger than we’d expected. The host’s communications were extremely helpful and kind and the location of the house was fabulous; a 10 minute stroll down a lovely walkway. We’d definitely recommend this property & the host

Lovely sunny master bedroom with spa style en suite and an exceedingly comfortable super king sleigh bed. The other rooms were equally well appointed. Having 2 extra bathrooms was appreciated when trying to get everyone up and out for the trips to Flamborough Head; York and Beverley. Loads of crockery, cutlery and an array of cooking equipment which meant that our chaps were very happy preparing 'little snacks' and mega breakfasts. Dog secure rear garden - so the puppy escaped through the open front door - thanks to the district nurse who helped us catch her!! Only 5 minutes walk to the beach - great for star gazing; lovely cafes and independent shops nearby. Wendy had thought of everything and was very generous with the welcome goodies - thank you. A much needed and relaxing holiday.
Had such a lovely time at this house with a family group.
More than enough space for everyone, all the rooms were really comfy and everyone slept well. It's and easy and short walk to both the beach and shops from the house. The owners were easily contacted and available if needed. Everyone had a great stay and would definitely recommend this house to others.

The house was perfect for a big family gathering, well presented and with everything we needed.
Plenty of space in the kitchen for preparing Christmas dinner and only a few minutes to the beach to walk it off!
Booked this house to celebrate my 50th Birthday.
It slept 12, so was ideal. It was within 10 minutes to the beach and also the town centre. There was no off road parking, but it was easy for me and all guests to get parked, either outside the house or close by. Everyone was impressed by the house, which felt very homely. Very clean home and excellently equipped kitchen. I had spoken to Wendy, the owner prior to arrival and she was very helpful. There was a welcome pack, which included a fab home made cake and some fizz. Wendy also text to check all was ok. Also ideal for if you have a dog as I do, as a lovely walk down to the beach. I cannot fault this property or Wendy who was brilliant. I would definitely book this property again, it is definitely the best property I have rented and made my 50th even more special.

We had a lovely weekend staying at the beautiful and beautifully maintained 8 Wilton Rd,delicious homemade cake upon arrival,great access to the seafront and local amenities.
I would have no hesitation in recommending this property.
This property was large, spacious, extremely clean and very well equipped.
It’s at a good location, and we parked our 3 cars without any hassle either outside or close to the property. 6 bedrooms and 3 showers was ideal for our party of 9. Highly recommended. The Walker Family July 2019.
8 Wilton Rd is an amazing property furnished to a very high standard throughout.

The accommodation was fantastic, all rooms were clean and beautifully decorated. The kitchen was extremely well equipped and the milk, bread and cake on arrival was very welcome. The location of the property was so convenient for the town centre and the sea front so we had some lovely walks without the need to get in the car. I would definitely recommend this property and we are already looking for dates to go back next year!
We had a week at this lovely house in May 2019.
Upon arrival we discovered amazing home made cakes and welcome pack. The owner was very friendly and helpful. The house itself is very well maintained and has all the things that you could think that you would need. We got really lucky with the weather and enjoyed walks along the beach and a day trip to Whitby. Would happily stay here again and would recommend the property to anyone looking to explore this part of the country.
Convience to town centre, beach etc.
The facilities were excellent. The fires were welcome. The welcome pack of bread, milk and a lovely homemade cake was great after a long drive.
The house was clean warm spacious and had everything you could possibly need and more.
It was in the ideal location for the town and the beach. A wonderful plsce to stay and the welcome cake was delicous. Would definately stay again and would recommend the house highly to others.
