  • "Lovely comfortable property with well equipped kitchen, sun streams in the front window in the morning small garden with table and chairs gets the sun in the afternoon, cafe/takeaway and chippy on doorstep."

The beach directly opposite is closed to dogs May to September, great for children, and only short walk to dog friendly stretch. We are definitely thinking about another visit

The house is well appointed and was very clean. It was cold on arrival but soon warmed up although some instructions on how to set the heating timer would be helpful as we didn't manage to crack this! We would definitely recommend staying here.

  • "Had a fantastic week here with the dog."

Hornsea a lovely, friendly place. The cottage is fairly central for everything. The seafront location is probably what sells this place ( and it is a great view) but you should put more photos on! It really is lovely inside. Spotlessly clean, cosy and comfy. Very well equipped. Thoughtful things, often lacking in some cottages, like blackout curtains, proper sized bath towels, a really comfy sofa with a footstool and side table for your cuppa! There's a huge fridge freezer and a fantastic oven. The little yard is secure for the dog with a private lane behind. Other than the soothing sound of the waves it was relatively quiet. The TV and DVD could do with an upgrade. Would recommend and would definitely book again.

It was great to see the massive skies and changing sea views from the front windows which is something I really appreciate as a city dweller. All the town centre facilities are within a very easy stroll and a good chippy and pub even closer!

  • "It's all about the location!"

Don't judge a book by it's cover! It isn't the most prettiest property from the outside but wow!! on opening the door it's light, spacious, lovely decor throughout. Very cosy! and warm. First impressions was yes we love it! No welcome pack sadly which all other properties have supplied. So arrived late in the evening and not even milk in the fridge so no cuppa or wine or even treats for our dog which is generally supplied to meet and greet making smiles all round. That aside, the view in the morning light fazed out the milk/wine dilemma. Absolutely stunning I couldn't get enough pics every morning when only the odd dog walker was about and the sea was glistening all the way as far as you can see each way. Hornsea is a lovely quaint town with some shops a museum but can't take dogs in so couldn't go in sadly as was told by a local it was lovely to look around in like a tardis. We had lots of walks along the sandy beach goes for miles towards Bridlington our dog had the time of his little life living his best life. Lovely coming back to a warm cosy property. In the evenings we popped the flame effect switch on the electric log effect fire, lit some candles and lamps on. Lovely sized TV for chilling. Lots of board games available and magazines to flick through whilst chilling. Not sure our dog liked the astro in the courtyard garden but looked tidy. Lots of foodie places too. Thank you to the owners for sharing their lovely holiday home. The Smith's

The view was wonderful. To wake up to the sea every day was very uplifting. The house was perfect, very comfortable and with everything you could need for a week away. The facilities close by were really useful. Cafe next door but one and a fish & chip shop next door to that! There is wonderful coffee at the little cafe/shop over the road & Mr Moos ice cream too! What more could you ask for! You definitely need to go and see for yourself, you won't regret it!

directly overlooking the sea. TBH we didn't want to leave. There is a cafe next door that sells amazing food if you didn't fancy cooking. The back garden was an added bonus ( astro turf). The driveway is small so its advisable to access from the lamp post side and park diagonal , a medium size car will fit. We then used rear entrance to property via the side access.. Can't wait to return .

Surrounding area had lots of shops and eating places within easy distance too. House was well equipped and comfy and watching the sunrise from our spacious seaview bedroom became our most enjoyable start to each day. In a word Fabulous.

  • "We stayed at Sea View 2 years go, so we knew what it was like."

Unfortunately it rained everyday so apart from spending a lot of time in the Marine Pub across the road, the house was home from home, central heating was easy to work so we were comfortable. We did have a shock when the builders moved In next door and hammered and drilled most of Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. He did come round to see us, was very apologetic and bought us wine. He was a very nice person and these things cannot be helped. We were on our holiday but life goes on for everyone else. So at the end of the day we had a break and stormy seas were a special sight even though you don't expect them in June.

Everything was as I remembered, we had plenty of space and the beds were very comfortable. We had everything we needed in the kitchen to cook family meals and the central heating was simple to use and adjust as required. Just a couple of points, we found the shower screen a bit leaky so maybe this needs replacing and also it would be helpful to have an extra door key, we especially found this tricky with there being 5 of us coming and going! Overall we had a wonderful, relaxing break and would love to return in the future. Thank you.

  • "The house faces the sea, with Marine Drive directly in front."

It's not a busy road, but it is on the bus route. There are double yellow lines, so the drive is never blocked. If you can parallel park, its quite easy to get onto the apron in front of the house, (large MPV). Open plan front room diner which opens out onto a small patio (artificial grass, lovely sun trap, garden furniture). Comfortable sofa's, electric log fire, Sony TV and Sky box, good wi -fi. Newish kitchen, with everything you could need, range gas cooker, good sized fridge freezer, (no dishwasher, which we didn't need). Large front bedroom with comfortable bed, I thought I might be disturbed by the sea/ waves, but the opposite was the case. Slightly smaller but equally comfortable back bedroom. Good sized new bathroom with bath and shower (combi boiler). Its an old house with some DIY, but it was one of the better holiday homes we've stayed in, (we're not of the 'four in a bed' mindset). There is a chip shop and a cafe a few doors down and also another within spitting distance. There is the Marine pub at the top of the road, round the corner is a great park for walking the dogs, it has a new children's play park and a spanking new scooter/ BMX/ skateboarding park. Also a post office (Nisa), cafe, butchers, chip shop, or walk a little further and your in the middle of the town. The Mere walk was disappointing, but we loved the railway walk and north along the beach towards Brid.A really enjoyable holiday, we will be going back.

An archway leads into the dining room, which has patio doors opening onto the small rear enclosed yard, while the galley-style, modern, well-equipped kitchen, has a superb gas range cooker for ease in preparing tasty family meals.

Upstairs, there are two roomy double bedrooms, one with stunning views over the sea, and there's a cosy single room available.

With the benefit of off road parking for one car, guests can safely leave their car behind and explore the town on foot.

A hop and a skip brings you onto the long, sandy beach, perfect for children building sandcastles and for long walks along the shoreline.

It's a pleasant saunter along the promenade to the town centre, with a good variety of pubs, shops, tea rooms and restaurants.
