New Stable Cottage

We had a great week at Stable Cottage, which is in a great position to visit the North Yorks coast or for taking a walk on the moors.

The property was clean and comfortable and has a lovely, peaceful garden for sitting in, if you’re lucky with the weather. The owner Sallie lives next door and was helpful but not intrusive. Parking is on a small courtyard in front of the property. We had very patchy mobile reception (O2), the WiFi was great for surfing indoors but probably not streaming, if this bothers you. However, with so much to see and do all around you this isn’t a problem! We liked it so much we hope to go back before too long!

This is an exceptional cottage in a perfect location.

We felt privileged to be able to stay at Stable Cottage. Nothing was lacking - everything has been thought through with care and attention. Very well equipped kitchen, spacious accommodation, comfortable bed, the best level of cleanliness we have experienced, gorgeous garden and seating area, and the most wonderful hosts next door. They were so helpful and accommodating - especially when we needed to contact breakdown services to replace a flat battery on our day of departure. The location is truly special with excellent walks from the door, Danby Centre close by and Whitby, Staithes etc short drives away. A week is not long enough!

Beautiful, well presented cottage, exceptionally clean and comfortable.

Lovely welcome pack., Gardens and garden furniture first class. Owner very kind and welcoming. Wonderful holiday.

A perfectly located property in immaculate condition fully equipped we wanted for nothing.

Sallie was so kind and attentive we will be booking again.

We had a wonderful holiday at New Stable Cottage.

Everything about it was fantastic. Location is great and convenient for visiting various towns and villages including the seaside. Out in the countryside without being too rural. The garden area is so pretty and relaxing to sit out in with lots of different birds in the trees behind the cottage and the dawn chorus was a pleasure to hear every morning. The owner Sallie, who lives next door, was lovely and went above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable and had all we needed. The welcome pack was also very generous and much appreciated. All in all, a cosy and relaxing countryside retreat. We will most certainly be returning.

This was our third visit to Stable Cottage, it’s comfortable and clean with everything you need for an enjoyable week away.

What a lovely cosy cottage.

This is the second time we have stayed here. The owners are lovely and provide a nice welcome pack. It is a very clean and well equipped cottage with a lot of the basics supplied. Very comfortable beds. There are some lovely walks from the cottage although some people may find it too remote. It was perfect for us. Nice and quiet with lots of animals and birds in the fields and on the moors. Am sure we will return.

A very clean, well equipped cottage, everything needed for a fabulous stay.

The owner Sallie is very helpful and friendly. Great welcome pack, especially the chocolate cake. We had a fantastic week the weather was wall to wall sunshine which came into every part of the stunning garden during the day. Will be returning later in the year.

Gem of a cottage, so homely and everything you need (and might need) provided.

A beautiful peaceful haven for the week. Will definitely be back.

A fantastic, clean and cosy cottage with a wonderful garden.

If you are interested in bird watching or listening this is the place to come. During a week stay we logged down 22 different species from chiffchaff to pheasant to barn swallow to carrion crow. Lots of places nearby to visit. Very thoughtful welcome pack when you arrive. Would definitely recommend.

The cottage was beautiful light, airy, modern with a country cottage feel.

Easy access to park and ride (Cheaper for two people using a return ticket than car park fee) boat trips very reasonable too. The owners were very nice and the welcome pack and other essentials were very generous. We had a very enjoyable week

Quite the best holiday accomodation we have ever stayed in.

Sallie made us feel very welcome, we enjoyed the "treats" she left. The cottage was clean, extremely comfortable and very well equipped. We would love to return (a little sunshine would be gratefully received)!!

New Stable Cottage is a superb, light, airy, and comfortable cottage.

It is furnished with all modern conveniences but retains a real characterful feel. The garden is an absolute joy, ideal for sitting out after an energetic day out and about. We would heartily reccomend a stay there.

It had everything we could possibly want and was a beautiful place to go back too, after a busy day. We will definately be going back.

A lovely property in every respect.

Spacious, beautifully equipped and very comfortable. Sallie made us feel very welcome and the chocolate cake did not last long! The eggs and other items that Sallie left for us were very much appreciated.

A beautiful and comfortable cottage to stay in.

All rooms were light, fresh and modern. A 'boutique cottage' set in a small hamlet away from traffic noise was bliss. Credit to the owners for a lovely stable conversion.

A wonderful cottage with everything you could need.

Extremely comfortable and thoughtful hosts who supplied welcome goodies. There is also a beautiful courtyard and garden. We would highly Reccomendation this property.

A lovely well equipped cottage, it was a pleasure to stay there.

Stylishly furnished with very comfortable bed and sofas and all in immaculate order. Great shower, spacious rooms and plenty of storage space, plus an attractive well kept garden to lounge in. A very nice welcome from Sallie on arrival too. I highly recommend Stable Cottage, it’s a relaxing place to stay, in a quiet spot but not too remote.

Beautiful cottage in a great location for exploring the countryside.

On arrival we were greeted with a warm welcome and some lovely home grown strawberries and local produce. Very peaceful and relaxing stay, looking forward to staying again next summer.

A gem of a property with private gardens and outside seating areas.

Created from two former cottages, extremely well designed and with quality furnishings plus many extras that show the thought and care the owner has put into creating this holiday home.

We had a wonderful stay at Old Stable Cottage.

A very picturesque and peaceful place to stay. The cottage itself was great - it had everything we needed, it was comfortable and the garden was stunning. Lealholm was a short drive away and had good local amenities. Sallie was on hand to welcome us and answer any questions we had. Thank you so much for a fantastic holiday (our first as a family of three!). We would love to come back!

We had a wonderfully week at New Stable Cottage, very clean and comfortable throughout, very well stocked kitchen everything you could possibly need to russel up a meal, thank you Sallie for your lovely little touches throughout the cottage, the local produce and flowers were very welcome after a six hour drive.

Being seasoned cottage holidaymakers this rates as the best cottage we have stayed at and we will return later in the year to take advantage of your lovely garden. Thank you for a lovely well kept and cared for cottage. Judith and Chris

A very tasteful decorated, comfortable and fully equipped cottage in a wunderful area.

New Stable Cottage is excellent in all respects and the owner goes the extra mile to make you welcome and make your stay perfect

One of the best cottages we’ve ever stayed in.

A great place to switch off.

Lovely and clean apart from some rusty roasting tins in the drawer, no t vs in the bedrooms.

The location was lovely and quiet.

The cottage was beautiful, it had everything you could possibly wish for.

It had a gorgeous garden with several seating area's. The kitchen was fully equipped with everything you need and had a cosy front room. The bedrooms were fab, and had a lovely king size bed in the main bedroom. Wouldn't hesitate to book again, and Sallie was very informative.

Shower was hot and we were not able to adjust it.

The property had everything we needed. The garden was lovely and private. Houlsyke as a very good base for walking and nature. Spotted: barn owl, hares, foxes, red kites, buzzards, kestral, cuckoo and hundreds of rabbits.

Beautiful large comfortable 2 bed cottage with high quality fittings in quiet location and excellent base for visiting the North Yorkshire Moors and the Coast.

The owner, who lives adjacent to the cottage, provided welcome gifts and strawberries from her garden during our stay and kept in touch to ensure we had everything we needed and a thoroughly enjoyable stay. Would highly recommend this cottage.

One of the best cottages we've been to.

A beautifully designed and built conversion, nicely furnished and decorated. It has spacious, comfortable rooms and two high quality bathrooms. The kitchen/diner is well equipped. The owner, who live in the adjoining house, was friendly and welcoming and quickly sorted a few queries we had. We were welcomed with wine, cake and fresh flowers as well as bread, milk and eggs. The property also enjoys a very attractive, well maintained garden equipped with all the necessary for alfresco dining. The location is rural and quiet and in a very picturesque area of the Esk valley, quite remote but with reasonably short, scenic drives to Whitby, other parts of the coast or some of the bigger inland tourist spots. Definitely recommended.

A wonderful cottage with an amazing garden .

A lovely place to relax after visiting busier places like Whitby and Robin Hoods Bay.No wonder so many people return year after year.

New Stable Cottage is a splendidly furnished and equipped cottage in a tranquil hamlet high on the unspoilt North Yorkshire moors.

A great place base for hiking, touring or simply chilling out. The owner is attentive and very welcoming. Heartily recommended.

A very comfortable, well equipped, spotless cottage in a very quiet location.

This was one of the best cottages we have stayed in with Sykes. The owner was very friendly and left us some delicious treats on arrival. The area was very peaceful and picturesque with plenty of local walking. Close enough to Whitby with local villages providing a bakery, butcher, village shop and tea shops. We will definitely stay here again when we are next in the area.

Sallie was great and the welcome pack was great.

She even put in extra towels because we had a 15 month baby.

We have just returned from a wonderful stay at Stables Cottage.

Everything was lovely, the location and the cottage are both excellent. Nothing was missed we enjoyed the stay immensely.

It was very quiet and peaceful the cottage had everything that we needed.

We loved this cottage, it was warm and comfortable.

We spoke with the owner Mrs White, and she was very friendly and approachable, and answered any questions about destinations to visit, all in all a great holiday for us and our two grandchildren who also loved it. Would recommend a stay and we would go back in the future.

There was a lovely welcome pack with some delicious local goodies. Owner very welcoming. 2 miles to nearest pubs and shops.

Loved the comfort of the cottage, the quality of fittings and furnishings, the peaceful outdoor seating area and garden, and the helpful owner living next door and not forgetting the beautiful scenic location.

Beautiful cottage, very comfortable and had everything you need, great location!

We have stayed in several lovely cottages but this has to be amongst the best.

Not only was the cottage immaculate (yet still had that homely feel) but the garden was amazing too. Blessed with decent weather we made the most of that too. Hope to return next year.

this is a lovely cottage - had everything we needed.

It was very clean and had a very comfortable bed and provided good space to relax. Great walks from the door. Lovely garden.

Stable cottage was just perfect for a quiet getaway.

So many walks from the doorstep. Beautifully furnished, immaculate and everything we needed. The directions provided were a bit confusing, but the postcode in satnav got us there.

Beautiful cottage fitted out with everything you could possibly need for a great holiday.

Very nice gardens and patio areas at the rear of property. The owners who live next door were very friendly and were very helpful with recommendations for places to visit and places to eat. Would highly recommend and will back again in the future .

Stable Cottage is a beautiful cottage in a lovely location.

The quality of the accommodation exceeded our expectations. The host was very friendly and helpful. Would stay again.

The cottage was very clean and tidy on arrival.

Helpful and friendly owners. Decor and furniture smart, tidy and up to date. Welcome pack superb with useful recommendations on local shops to restock. Lovely set of areas to sit in, in a very lovely garden. No complaints to make at all. Sallie should be proud of what she does as it is a gorgeous cottage.

The cottage was exceptional both inside and out.

The welcome pack of local bread, milk, eggs and sweets was a lovely touch. Sallie was a very friendly host and nothing was too much trouble. We were new to the area and blessed with good weather which always helps. Favourite places were Lealholm, Staithes and Robin Hoods Bay. The drive over the moors to Rosedale Abbey was great as were the views to the sea. We also did the steam train trip to Pickering from Grossmount which was fun. We will definitely return for another holiday.

Mr R Mumby and family Grimsby 28th-june to 5th july we had a lovely holiday in new stable cottage.

Lovely cottage spoilt by horrendously hard and lumpy mattresses.

The cottage is wonderful.

So comfy and nosey. We had a wonderful time. A shame the weather could of been better so we could of eaten outside. Loved the homely touches like fresh flowers and sweet treats. Thanks Sallie for all the small attention even though you had your own break.

Lovely, clean cottage in a delightful setting, which provides easy access to the North Yorkshire moors and coast.

Very peaceful with good walks right on the doorstep. The owner is very welcoming without being intrusive. We will definitely be going back!

fantasic property, made for a really special break for our family!

property is extremely well equipped and we had everything we needed! i would highly recommend!!!!!

The cottage was exceptional, Sallie the owner was very kind left us bread and milk and cake for arrival.

The cottage was very well looked after the garden was lovely. The only thing I could say the pictures do not do it justice. Great location too. Highly recommend this cottage to anyone.

The cottage was very comfortable, well equipped.

We went for a relaxing weekend to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Lots to do in the area, not close to shops, but not too far away. In a quiet village. Welcome pack of bread, milk, cake included. Hope to return for a longer break later in the year.

New Stable Cottage is beautifully presented, spacious, warm and welcoming.

It is situated in stunning surroundings, remote and quiet, yet with lots of varying routes to get to main roads, shops etc. It is so well equipped we felt like it was a home from home and could have stayed there indefinitely. There are beautiful villages and hamlets close at hand and any number of walks in the surrounding countryside. It is close to the coastal towns of Whitby, Robin Hood’s Bay, Staithes and Runswick Bay. We probably only scratched the surface of the area during our week but have beeen left with memories of a wonderful, relaxing break. Sallie, the owner of the cottage was very welcoming and full of ideas of things to do. The welcoming bread and milk were a nice touch! I am sure we will be back!

Outstanding 5star accommodation.

The owners who live next door are very welcoming and can't do enough to make your holiday a success. We will definitely return and would recommend 5o anyone seeking a relaxing holiday.

New Stable Cottage was wonderful and the owner was most welcoming.

I would say it is the nicest holiday cottage we have ever stayed in. The garden was beautiful and I have taken away some planting tips! The Sykes website and service was excellent. The website is extremely easy to use and navigate and email updates and instructions were very clear.

Exceptional standard of cleanliness, facilities and furnishings very impressive.

Owner of property lived next door and extremely helpful in every way.
