Puffin Cottage

Puffin cottage was perfect for our short break.

Everything was provided that we could have needed and the beds were very comfortable. It would have been good to know in advance the need to book swimming slots as there weren’t any left but fortunately we managed to get in as a walk in later on one day.

A wonderful place to stay, very close to beach with direct access, lovely facilities on site we didn’t realise how much there was on offer until we got there and were very sad we didn’t have longer to try them.

Having only booked two nights, we managed to eat at the bar on site the first night and went into town on 2nd night. Both really easy to get to and our toddler loved the arcade and the binoculars at the apartment. The only thing we had a negative about is that the mattress to the king bed feels like it has had better days as you can feel where people have sat down on it to get into bed. However, on a whole a good price for a beautiful cottage in a really lovely quiet location. Definitely recommend the beach cafe and Bella Italia in Filey for food! They were wonderful and our little one loved it!

Everything was good apart from outside was messy with leaves and debris dog kept trailing them in bushes could do with being cut back as patio doors wouldn’t stay open

The property was in a great location for the beach to walk the dog, also great walk 2 minutes to the meadows and pond which they cut a path which you can walk around.

As to the property ever amenity was at hand to have a staycation, like the bathroom was very modern and the shower great pressure and hot. The Wi-Fi was excellent and had no problems buffering as to the bed it was comfortable and we had a good sleep each night. We would recommend this for family with kids and dogs as plenty things to do on the site. We would book again for a holiday as we were very happy place

Lots of extras for youngsters to play with in cottage.

Only problem we had was no being able to get the kettle to work.

We had a lovely stay at Puffin cottage, we were nice and comfortable and would definitely stay again.

Apologies we forgot to write in the guest book! Perfect location, really well presented and had everything we needed for our stay.

Generally the property needs some TLC, outside space could do with more comfortable seating and table with a parasol, maybe some planting to make it more presentable.

All furniture inside needs upgrading particularly the sofa and chair and the beds which were uncomfortable and tired. The carpets need replacing although they had been vacuumed they were dirty. The entire property needs repainting the walls are damaged in some places and are scuffed and dirty. Some smaller points, the toilet seat in the main bathroom is cracked and needs replacing, it would be good to have another bedside lamp in the bedroom. The welcome gift was not as advertised, cheap teabags, UHT milk and broken biscuits was not great. On the positive side the beach is walkable from the property and you do have access to some lovely walks.

Lovely Cottage.

Everything you need is there. We actually had more meals in because the kitchen is well stocked with pans, dishes etc. Perfect location for the Amazing Beach. Bus stops just outside the complex to Filey, Bridlington, Scarborough & York which we used. Day rider ticket £10. Filey is a lovely fishing town. We walked there from the Cottage along the beach & had a very happy Dog

Very well equipped and lovely decor. On arrival the stair gate had come off the wall so this needs attending to but it did not affect our stay. Will definitely stay again.

just on facilities there is 100% for information folder but some of the instructions are too small to read. Not many Overall a wonderful place to stay being near to beach etc and other places to visit

We enjoyed a relaxing stay, just what you need to recharge.

Great little house with everything we needed and more, Lovely new bathroom (not in pictures) with a great shower.

Downside was we couldn't get parked near it for first couple of days. The french doors at back of house are faulty as we could only open one and the outdoor furniture is needing replaced. Apart from that we enjoyed our stay.

Unfortunately we were unable to access the key as the key safe was jammed and we had to call out assistance.

Although they came quite promptly it did put a bit of a dampener on the beginning of our stay. Otherwise the cottage was excellent apart from the comfort of the sofa where there was no support in the seat. We enjoyed our stay very much.

Puffin Cottage is a very comfortable and well appointed cottage with the benefit of access to nearby site facilities.

The cottage itself is beautifully appointed and maintained and the owners have literally thought of everything and more. Arriving in early spring was worried about how warm it would be so came prepared but the cottage was so warm and cosy. Reading the visitors book can see that the owners are proactive and as soon as any defect is noted it is resolved. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this property to family or friends you can literally bring your clothes as everything you will require for your stay is supplied or close at hand. Lovely cottage in a lovely location.

The owners have thought of everything. Love the little kitchen pack that you get and kitchen is well stocked with all the utensils you would need. Loads of books, dvds and games to look through on a rainy day. Great for short stay holiday or if you wanted a longer break to explore the area.

We had a lovely stay in this cosy , well equipped and clean property.

It was a fantastic base for the family and our dog to explore the coast line .The newly refurbished bathroom was a pleasure to use and my son enjoyed the DVDs provided . Would definitely recommend both the property and the Bay resort .

Lovely property in a beautiful location with everything you need for a home from home stay

Very happy with the property; it was exactly as described, clean & thoughtfully set out with everything we could feasibly need.

The firestick ensured we had our personal choice of TV after a hard day being a holidaymaker. It was a little temperamental but behaved after switching it off & back on again!

Beautifully clean and comfy for myself, my daughter and my two grandsons.

We appreciated the very comprehensive guest handbook and the good selection of games, books and dvds (the weather wasn't great). The X-box was a hit with the boys! The site itself is very well appointed for family holidays; with lots of available activities, handy shop and pub, and walks and beach close by. Would definitely recommend.

Overall the cottage was clean and comfortable my only concern was the sofa was a little too low for someone with mobility issues and on lighter note maybe they could invest in a better frying pan apart from that we enjoyed our stay

Absolutely loved the location of the property and the cleanliness of the whole site, however, on the first day of our arrival we noticed that the clamp that holds the shower head was broken.

We contacted the house owner by messenger, as per the instructions in the welcome b pack, left a voicemail on the emergency maintenance/cleaners phone, again as per instructions in welcome pack and also emailed yourselves. We received no reply from anybody, so had to use the shower by holding it over ourselves. We managed to buy some superglue to fix it and on doing so, noticed that it has obviously been glued numerous times due to the amount of old glue on the clamp! Not very impressed that out of 3 points of contact made, not one replied to us, however, this didn't stop us having a fab time and would definitely return to the complex.

We had a lovely stay.

The house is well located, clean, comfortable and well equipped. Parking was a bit tricky at times, but to be expected on a bank holiday weekend.

I found it hard to find the property - in the dark.

I must say that the Receptotion staff at the 'BAY' were wonderful and got me into the house and my car in the nearby parkway. The house was well equipped and ideally situated. The kitchen was brilliant, the bathroom and shower were stunningly great. Because of the poor TV transmitter the TV did not work......evidently its the same all through the 'The Bay Resort' - an alternative should be sought till the Billsdale transmitter is finally fixed. But I had a good set of books/novels. The Resort facilities were brilliant, pub, shop and pharmacy! Well done.

When we arrived on the Friday 22nd we discovered that the cottage had not been cleaned or the beds changed.

There were no towels obviously either. We did text the Sparkle and Shine cleaning company and they got in touch on the Saturday morning- they had had no record of the booking. They came on the Saturday afternoon. We had to sleep in beds with no sheets,duvet covers or pillow cases. This was not very nice. Luckily the cottage had been left pretty clean by the previous guests but the bath was dirty and the bins hadn’t been emptied. We were not given the owners number to complain -only the cleaning company. The visitors book requested ‘ haven of happiness’ comments only!! I suppose it works both ways. We weren’t very happy !! Apart from this bad start we had a lovely holiday and the cottage was great. It was modern, well equipped and had a lovely feel to it. It is a fabulous spot to explore a lot of the Yorkshire Coast.

This was our third stay at The Bay, our first stay in Puffin Cottage. We will definitely book Puffin Cottage again, it had everything we needed. Thank you.

Good facilities on site & a short walk to the beach.

The Bay near Filey is a lovely place to stay.

Its quite expensive and our accomodation was very good but parking is a problem mainly because there isn't enough of it! Every time we went out we were worried that we wouldn't be able to get parked near our accomodation.The property was advertised with designated parking which wasn't true.The parking problems caused a lot of bad feeling and some arguments it really needs to be addressed!Apart from that we had a good holiday at the Bay.
