"First impressions."
Felt quite unsafe on the corner of a road but we were made aware of it. Parking is confusing, could’ve done with being marked clearer and able to read from the road. House looked lovely and modern. Had a welcome package of bread butter and milk and things for the dog. Beds really comfortable. Rooms were perfect size. However, On closer inspection, it wasn’t as clean as you’d expect, cobwebs hanging above the door and in the front room ceiling shade. A funny aroma in the house, especially main bedroom, think it was the rug. Doors creaked like crazy and some were stiff to open. It may be that it’d been closed up for a while but in definite need of some maintenance jobs and TLC. Having said that, we did have a lovely stay. It didn't affect the overall feel of the house but it would’ve been so much nicer if these issues were looked at.

"Lovely place to stay, everything you need, comfortable beds, clean bedding, fire and small garden."
Kitchen has everything needed, nice shower, and has a washer. Parking for two cars
Road quiet most of the time but people can drive fast past so take care when leaving the property with kids or dogs

"We a family of 5 and 2 dogs had such a lovely Christmas at Providence Cottage."
It was beautifuly decorated for Christmas which made it feel so homely. The owners left us fresh bread, milk, butter and cake which was very sweet, even bits for the dogs. We were all very warm and comfy but sad we had to come home. Such beautiful surroundings. Would go back in a heart beat.

"Have had a lovely week despite wet and windy weather Providence Cottage kept us warm and cosy."
Fantastic for the dogs too with hard floors in the kitchen and dining room to get muddy paws clean and dried.
Lovely surroundings and easy access to both the coast and the moors.

"Amazing place in a fantastic location."
You are close enough to many places such as Whitby, Robin Hood's Bay and others such as Saltburn along the coast, but far enough outside the hustle and bustle to have total silence in the night.
We were welcomed by homemade bread made by Charlotte (which tasted great!), this cottage very quickly becomes a home from home.
Charlotte was a very attentive owner to ensure the stay was as smooth as possible.
Would highly recommend and we look forward to certainly visiting again in the future.
Thank you. We're so glad you enjoyed your stay

"Lovely property and lovely neighbours too."
It’s definitely not for those who struggle with mobility as there are steep stairs from the property that lead straight into the road with a blind corner to your right.
It’s located on a road called The Cliff and that definitely describes the type of road/lane you will be driving but it offers gorgeous views across to Sleights. The cottage backs onto a church and its quirky side garden runs down the side of the church grounds so it’s very quiet and tranquil.
Charlotte the owner texted the day before to check on details like having the loft room as a double or twin and there were plenty of welcome gifts for humans and dogs when we arrived. I booked for my Mam’s 70th and as a break during her chemotherapy.
My Mam and Dad thoroughly enjoyed it.
Thank you for your review. We agree, the views are stunning. We are glad you enjoyed your stay with us and hope we can host you again one day.

"We enjoyed our stay at Providence Cottage situated in a lovely part of Yorkshire central for visiting the coast and surrounding beautiful countryside."
The cottage was very clean, comfortable and homely especially the beds. Nice touches with the welcome pack for us and the dogs very much appreciated. Local village of Sleights provides a few shops and the butchers is well worth a visit to pick up something for tea .
