Crumble's Hideaway

We had a lovely stay at Crumbles Hideaway, such a lovely tucked away place.

Really comfy, well equipped and warm. Well positioned with access to doggie walk, shops and cafes and great for getting out and about in woodland, moors and coast. Would recommend. Many thanks

C, Canada)& that is a good recommendation in itself.Well located to the town of Kirkbymoorside& its facilities,bus stop to York & Helmsley literally just around the corner & opposite anothe bus stop for Scarborough & Pickering(if one does not have a car)Prices for bus reasonable.The further one goes on the bus in North Yorkshire,the cheaper the price.

A lovely little cottage ideal for just a couple and a four legged friend.

The cottage is in a central position in Kirkbymoorside just several minutes walk to the amenities. The cottage was warm especially when the log/multi stove burner was lit. The bedroom and en-suite bathroom was really nice and very spacious. Just a couple of small things that we think would help to improve this little cottage even more are - 1) Definitely need some gloves/gauntlets for when using the log burner ( and a few more dry logs for the starter pack would greatly help). 2) We think having a bit more greenery in the courtyard would be nice (plants and maybe a small tree in the right hand corner of the courtyard accompanied with a bird feeder) would be nice to attract some wild birds and would be viewable from the living area. 3) On a small maintenance issue we left a note in the cottage for the owner that the patio door on the right hand side had slightly dropped down making it slightly difficult to open and close the doors. There was also some dampness in the plaster work on the right hand side of the small bedroom window jamb. Overall though we would quite happily stay in this cottage again.

We had a wonderful time in Kirkbymoorside and would really recommend Crumble's.

Cosy but very comfortable cottage.

Everything needed for a short stay is there. On-street parking wasn't an issue. We really appreciated the info on things to do locally as well as restaurants, pubs, cafes, etc. We had a very relaxed and enjoyable stay.

What a lovely little spot in a small, friendly village.

It was exactly as pictured - clean and cozy - with milk, coffee and cake there for us when we arrived, which was a wonderful touch! It is also in a great location to explore much of the countryside with some great towns nearby and beautiful castle visits within a short drive! There was also a lovely guestbook and guide with everything you need to know. We absolutely loved so much of our stay and the owners have clearly thought about providing a great experience for guests. The only two things that stopped this from being a full 5 star experience - and it was surprising considering everything else being so great - was the bed is very hard and springy (adding a foam topper would fix this) and unfortunately the rules for dogs are that they are not allowed upstairs, which seems reasonable (although not welcoming) but in this case it means they need to be on the other side of the fire door which feels pretty unsafe in the event of a fire :(

This is a lovely, comfortable cottage and we had a great week here.

It is extremely well equipped with everything you need. The tea,coffee, milk and cake provided were very welcome after a long journey. Kirkbymoorside has a variety of shops and pubs and is near many interesting places to visit. There are also walks straight from the cottage. When we had a problem with the WiFi, the owner was very quick to respond and sorted it out. We would certainly return.

The cottage has everything you could possibly need .The shower was amazing and the sunny outside patio perfect for an area to relax and chill. The location was great for nipping in and out of the village and lots of lovely dog walks on your do step. We loved Kirbymoorside and the very friendly locals.

Excellent cottage, beautifully maintained, private enclosed gravel courtyard, particularly enjoyed by Harry our Spaniel !

We enjoyed our stay enormously and look forward to booking it again in the future !

My third visit to Crumbles Hideaway and that is what it is.

Central to Kirkbymoorside but good base to visit other places before returning to a ‘hideaway’ for a cosy evening. Lovely cottage, everything you need and more.

Lovely stay at Crumbles hideaway.

Bright and airy by day, cosy warm by night with the log burner. Great base to visit places which included Goathland, Helmsley, Thornton le dale, Hutton le hole to name but a few! Would definitely go back for longer as time goes too fast. The place is tastefully decorated and is so welcoming. Fiona messaged me when I arrived to ask if everything was okay and if I needed anything to contact her. Thank for a lovely stay.

Wonderful property, very clean, modern and had everything we needed for our stay.

This is the one property that actually meant 'home from home'.

The owners have obviously used the property ensuring that everything works as it should. It was clean and everything avaialable to help keep it that way. The level of equipment in the cottage is of a high standard and instruction books available for everything. A complete, no hassle holiday home. We will be back.

Everything you need is there. Beautifully kept and definitely a home from home. Wish I could score higher!

Great location, not too close or far away from the main High Street with convenient access to other market towns and the moors.

Perfect for our little dog too. The only problem we had was the bathroom light started the flicker after about 10 minutes every time we used it, everything else was fine

Just had a fabulous stay at this beautiful cottage.

Ideal for a couple (and our little doggie). The cottage has been refurbished beautifully and the log burner was an added bonus. Very clean and everything you need is available. A real home from home. We love to "lounge" on an evening so the sofa and the TV were a little small for us personally, but it certainly did not spoil the holiday. Would highly recommend and definitely would return.

This is our second visit to Crumbles, as before the cottage was as advertised, it was clean.

There was a slight problem with scaffolding encroaching on the passageway, but that was next door and out of the control of the cottage owner.

A really nice property and ideally suited for a couple.

Although hidden away down a side path we found it in easy reach of the shops and pubs in the nice little market town. Everywhere in the property was clean and the small kitchen area was well equipped. At the end of the day there was a comfortable bed in the en-suite bedroom. would definitely return to Crumbles Hideaway .

TV could not get terstial channels BBC itv home from home every appliance you would need was at the cottage Brilliant

We have stayed in holiday cottages in north Yorkshire for over 30 years but Crumbles Hideaway is by far the best cottage we have stayed in.

The outdoor space was fantastic and the internal furniture appeared to be brand new. We would have no hesitation in recommending it to others. Car parking outside the property was difficult at times but there was ample parking nearby.

A beautifully equipped and maintained cottage.

Very comfortable. Couldn't ask for more really. Shower great, bed wonderful. Wifi great. The outside area fully secure for dogs. Kirbymoorside centre a few minutes walk has everything you need and is a lovely town. On road parking looks tricky but isn't. All in all, one of the best cottages we have stayed.

It was in a great location with amenities very close by with many shops and pubs. Will certainly look at going back

Beautiful little cottage!

Extremely clean and so dog friendly; the amazing welcome treats included something for our hound! On street parking wasn't too bad! Comfortable bed and adored the bathroom amenities like shampoo etc being provided!

Wow what a great little find!

The cottage is small, cosy, well furnished, warm and really well equipped, short of nothing, with so many lovely quality extras from bathroom toiletries to coffee pods, as well as welcome gift of cake and dog treats. Great friendly town with local wooded dog walks and central to so many places!!! We would definitely recommend a visit we had a fab week. Thank you.

Very nice cottage clean and every thing you need for your stay.

The area is lovely with plenty of places to eat and shop with friendly local people. There was a nightmare regarding the key for the property as Sykes made the mistake of giving us the wrong key code which put us in the wrong property but the owners did manage to sort things out, take note Sykes.

Crumbles Hideaway is a delightful little cottage.

The decor is first class. The kitchen had everything you could possibly need and everywhere was lovely and clean. The Yorkshire Parkin was a welcome surprise to have with a cup of tea after our journey. Situated in a lovely town with wonderful fish and chips. And ideally situated for exploring surrounding area.
