    We enjoyed the privacy and security. The kitchen was well equipped and the Lounge and Dining rooms were perfect for a family time. We didn't turn the TV on. Our Dog enjoyed the space (inside & out) Pickering and Malton were in easy reach for Take-aways and a visit whilst the local pub (The Dawnay Arms) was spot on for food and atmosphere.

    Ideal accommodation for us to have a holiday with my disabled mum, as it's all on one level. Decor was stylish, beds were very comfortable, the cosy lighting and soft music playing on arrival made for a very relaxing welcome. Views were stunning!   • "This was our first time staying at the Cottages and will not be the last."

    The owners have done a fantastic job of renovating the buildings- everything is high quality, comfortable and a very well equipped kitchen . Everywhere was spotlessly clean and as I took my elderly parents it was perfect- all on one level and step in showers.The surrounding area is quiet ,beautiful countryside with some good local pubs . There was a lovely welcome basket with fresh eggs ( they have chickens!) bottle of wine and crisps - a really thoughtful touch. We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday .

    The cottage was clean and had everything you need for a perfect stay. The location was also great for us and we enjoyed exploring new places. On arrival the owners have thought of everything, a lovely welcome basket and lights and music playing which was great as it was dark outside when we arrived.   • "Fabulously presented cottage, beautifully designed with everything you could need."

    Welcome pack lovely surprise from owners! Lots of things to see and do in the area. One improvement the owners could do is some extra soft lighting in the living room as one lamp isn’t quite enough and the main light is too bright in the winter months, but that is the only negative. Will definitely love to return and will recommend to family and friends .

    Great views from the property onto the open spaces of the farm. Enjoyed watching the horse, sheep and chickens roaming around. Malton, Helmsley, Castle Howard and Dalby Forest all within an hours drive or less. A welcome break for us and the dog.

  • "A beautifully warm cottage awaited us on what was a cold, wet day!"

    A phone call resulted in the beds being sorted quickly and efficiently. ideal location for walking and exploring North Yorkshire. Seating arrangement is as pictured - seating for 4, but 3 in a row & 1 armchair at the other end of the room is not ideal for two couples who wish to chat & catch up, otherwise a great place for friends to stay with two lovely bedrooms & en-suite shower rooms.

  • "Stayed at Molly’s cottage for the weekend whilst attending an event at Scampston Hall."

    The cottage was very clean, the beds very comfy and the whole decor was fabulous. Even though it was near the A64 it was very quiet and peaceful, just a great base to explore the area. Met Glenn the owner who was lovely and has put so much work into the cottages. Received a nice little hamper on arrival too. Would definitely return and recommend to family and friends.

    Very spacious and clean. They go above and beyond to make your stay as perfect as possible. Charlie our dog loved just sitting outside and watching the world go by. Easy to go out for the day, Scarborough, Filey, Whitby and Pickering are all within easy reach. Would recommend a stay at Mollys. X

Molly’s Cottage resides within the grounds of Mill Barn, secured within five acres of private land, a beautifully presented holiday let forming part of an old converted Cow Shed in East Knapton near Rillington, North Yorkshire.

This property is ideal for a family or friends, and is perfectly positioned near the small hamlet of East Knapton, between the North York Moors and the Yorkshire Wolds, surrounded by open working countryside.

On arrival, guests will travel down a long sloping gravel drive to arrive at the property where two vehicles can be parked comfortably and hassle-free.

Entering the property, guests will be welcomed into this charming dwelling by a gorgeous sitting room which boasts original wooden beams and vaulted ceilings, perfectly complementing contemporary style living with traditional features.

The space boasts a plush seating area, ideal for resting tired legs and looking out towards the North Yorkshire Moors or curling up to spend the evening catching up on your favourite shows.

A spectacular archway connects the lounge area to the kitchen dining area, which is well equipped, housing a range of contemporary appliances needed to create a tasty home-cooked feast, whilst also providing a great spot to chat at the breakfast bar before the meal is savoured together at the dining table.

The opulent bifold doors allow easy access to the west-facing outdoor space to the rear of the property, where guests can enjoy a glass of fizz as the stars appear overhead.

Mill Barn Cottages

The Mill Barn Cottages consist of a delightful selection of three cottages resting in the tranquil village of East Knapton, North Yorkshire. This collection offers stylish open-plan areas, ground-floor living, blissful countryside views and allows pets, making it a lovely base for families, friends or couples. Enjoy your surroundings, for a tranquil day of strolling, head to the National Trust property, Nunnington Hall or Scampston Hall, and discover the magnificent manor homes complete with perfectly-kept gardens for you to wander. Give the chef of the group a break at one of the nearby eateries, such as Askim’s Turkish Restaurant Scarborough for colourful Turkish dishes, or Lucia Restaurant for Italian cuisine. Why not venture into the town of Malton? The town is known as a top foodie destination with its famous food festival, monthly food market, Malton Cookery School, traditional food shops, and ‘Made in Malton’ artisan producers. It was Antonio Carluccio who first called the town, “Yorkshire’s Food Capital!”. RILLINGTON

Malton 4.7 miles; Scarborough 18.5 miles; York 23 miles.

Sherburn is a village and civil parish lying in the county of North Yorkshire, although historically part of the East Riding of Yorkshire until 1974. Sherburn rests on the south side of the Vale of Pickering and is immediately north of the Yorkshire Wolds, as well as within easy reach of the North York Moors National Park to the north. Offering a great base for outdoor adventures throughout the North Yorkshire countryside, Sherburn is also not too far from Scarborough and Filey. The village is home to a Post Office, a pub, a convenience store and a newsagents, with a handful of other local businesses too. Nearby attractions include The Great Ryedale Maze, North Yorkshire Water Park, Wykeham Lakes Fishery, Playdale Farm Park, Go Ape Dalby and Filey Bird Garden and Animal Park.
