The property

Settled in the small village of Burniston is this delightful semi-detached dwelling, Brinkburn Cottage, offering four guests a fabulous base from which to explore the North York Moors and the North Yorkshire Coast.

Within easy reach of both Scarborough and Whitby, Brinkburn Cottage is ideal for a small family or a couple seeking a relaxing retreat full of seaside outings and to explore the North York Moors.

Enter into this charming property via the porch and from the hallway step into the homely sitting room on the right, here you'll find a warming woodburning stove set before a sofa and armchairs for relaxing into your evening as you enjoy your favourite shows on TV.

Walk through the elegant dining room, featuring an original decorative fireplace, to get to the small but well-equipped kitchen, with classic terracotta tiled floors and all the appliances you need for a self-catered stay.

Enjoy mealtimes around the dining table or delight in dining alfresco in the warmer months out in the enclosed garden making use of the outdoor furniture, with an outbuilding here containing the utility room too.

Follow the stairs up to the first floor to find the glistening bathroom styled with white Victorian tiling and home to a bath with a shower overhead.

Discover two lovely bedrooms, including a king-size room with a TV and a twin bedroom, both boasting built-in storage for your things.

The village of Burniston is home to a small shop within the Post Office, reached via a short stroll, as well as two pubs serving excellent food and drink, great for when you fancy a night off from cooking!

Delight in being approximately just two miles from the coast, meaning you can easily embark on some coastal rambles and take in the fresh salty air and beautiful seascapes.

Venture into the vast North York Moors National Park for a host of walking opportunities and different terrain, with Broxa Forest being a great place to start being home to forest tracks and woodland while the Forge Valley Woods National Nature Reserve is teeming with wildlife resting on the banks of the River Derwent, providing a perfect spot for plants and animals to thrive and for you to explore.

Lots of fun can be had in Dalby Forest with Dalby Activity Centre offering various activities including tree climbing, archery, orienteering and paintballing, a great day out for a family!

This wonderful North Yorkshire village rests on the fringes of the North York Moors National Park and close to the coast. Burniston is famed for its dinosaur footprints found on the rocks in the village. It is served by a shop/Post Office and two traditional village pubs serving food. The Burniston & Cloughton Village Hall provides a play park and tennis courts. A short drive away is the quintessentially English seaside resort of Scarborough, a must-visit whilst you're in the area as it offers a wealth of quaint amenities along with plenty of activities to enjoy and a dominating castle to admire.
