Lovely and spacious.

Very well equipped. Tastefully furnished. I can’t fault it really. In a quiet village just minutes from Scarborough and beautiful sandy beaches within easy reach. Kids loved the hot tub and garden. One of the best we’ve stayed in. Would definitely recommend. The Smiths 14 Aug 26

We had a lovely stay at Castle View.

The house was immaculate in every way. The collection of tea, coffee, biscuits & prosecco was impressive - though we did not take advantage of the coffee beans & grinder. The hot tub was a delightful way to relax each day & the secure garden was great for the dog. The position of the house was ideal for both Scarborough & Whitby - only a 10 minute walk from the bus stop to get to both so no parking issues to contend with. (Though walking back up the hill after a day in each was a challenge for some of us!) The proximity to beautiful moorland & the coast gave excellent opportunities for walking. We would definitely recommend it to friends.

The house is very spacious and well equipped.

The extras in there were a lovely touch. For us the main bed had a really hard mattress on so we did not sleep well. Also the garden wasn’t secure for our little dog, too many steps and the top gate did not shut.

We had a wonderful stay at Castle House.

The house was perfect for our family & was in a much prettier area than we expected. So quiet & peaceful. Also much closer to North beach than we thought. We had a couple of problems, one in the middle of the night, both were promptly dealt with by our hosts. Which we greatly appreciated. My grandson was a little disappointed there was no slide in the back garden as was shown in your pictures when booking. But overall a great few days away. And we will happily return to Castle House in the future.

A lovely stay in a really well presented and comfortable home with a lot of thoughtful little details/extras.

Only slight drawback we found were the additional few steps between the different levels( the step down into the kitchen, up a step for the downstairs toilet, and additional few steps on the landing into bedrooms or bathrooms) which weren’t detailed in the description on Sykes website. Not a problem for us but it made it more difficult for my parents, one of which has limited mobility. The stairs and the outside doorstep were documented, just not these others which we were not prepared for. But that aside we had a lovely stay and would highly recommend.

Fantastic stay.

This was our 3rd time of staying here and had another enjoyable week. Very clean , spacious and comfy. Lovely hot tub and games room . Zoe and Simon always make it very special with all the extra touches and lovely welcome gifts. We always look forward to staying here. Cannot fault this place. Highly recommend.

The house is warm, cosy and well appointed with everything you may need. Also a lovely welcome gift was waiting for us, greatly appreciated. Zoe the host was amazing, really reactive and helpful. We enjoyed the hot tub and the games room too. Can’t wait to rebook.

This property has everything a family could want.

It’s really well thought out. Extremely clean throughout. Brilliant hot tub and games room for the kids. Kitchen is really well stocked and lots of extras like dressing gowns, extra towels for the hot tub, biscuits and Prosecco. Excellent location as on a main bus route with buses regularly running to both Scarborough and Whitby. We left the car at home and used the buses! A fantastic stay and we would highly recommend this property.

This property has everything you could need for a great vacation and has tonnes of space inside and out. The hot tub and massive blackboard were the highlights for sure. Could not fault the property and would definitely book again. Many thanks.

A great holiday home.

Cleanliness was top notch and the welcoming gifts for humans and dogs was much appreciated. Great area for walks and bus stop not too far away for Scarborough, Robin Hoods Bay and Whitby. We would definitely come back.

We had an amazing stay at Castleview.

The facilities were great, especially the hot tub and everything was clean and comfortable. The owners were very helpful when we had a few queries and the location was just what we wanted - well connected but lovely and quiet.

Castle View was a perfect base for our weekend away to celebrate a retirement.

The house was lovely, well equipped, immaculate and comfortable. Perfectly located to walk local sections of the Cleveland way with the hot tub a perfect relaxation spot on our return. Wood burning stove and Netflix not required this weekend but would be lovely on a winter break.

Beautiful home, quite a few stairs, so if you have accessibility issues, it's worth noting.

Ev charger not on site, I did try and charge at the owners home, but unfortunately, it didn't work. In fairness to the owners, I didn't tell them about this and went to find a charger elsewhere. Fantastic time had by all, wonderful games room for my son. Bedrooms were lovely and spacious with plenty of sockets. Downstairs was lovely and spacious with all amenities. Hot tub was brill and owners did regular checks to make sure it was clean and very friendly and hospitable. Would defo recommend to anyone

We had a fantastic family stay at Castle View.

The accomodation was clean, spacious, and comfortable, and the kitchen was fully equipped. The games room with table football and ping pong was a particular favourite alongside the hot tub. The house is a perfect base for exploring the Yorkshire Coast and we had days out to Whitby, Scarborough, Dalby Forest, Flamingoland and Runswick Bay. Overall we had a lovely time, highly recommend and will return soon.

We had a great stay at Castle View.

Fantastic property with lots of space for larger groups. Lovely smells throughout the property and very clean. Great cooking facilities, great garden area and fields across the road for early morning doggy walks! We found a lovely local walk along the cliffs up to Cloughton then back along the Cinder path (approx 4 miles). Not sure if there are any leaflets about local walks but would be good to have some of them in the property if possible. Overall we were really pleased with our stay at Castle View and would definitely stay here again if we are back in the area.

There’s loads of space in the house, the games room is a great addition. Garden was lovely with the hot tub, plenty of seats, bbq & slide for kids. Our Labrador enjoyed running up & down as well! The EV charging point was really useful for us, and the owners were very friendly and easy to get in touch with. A few minor points - the bed in the back bedroom was quite uncomfortable & uneven, and the door to this bedroom blows open a lot if the windows are open (necessary as it gets pretty warm in there). There were also quite a lot of flies in the house each day - possibly just the warm weather - but we bought some fly spray which came in handy. Finally, there’s a notice in the house that dogs aren’t allowed upstairs. Our dog is quite relaxed so this wasn’t an issue for us, but it would be good to state this on the listing (as some other places do) so people know about this rule in advance. As I said before, we had a great week, our kids loved it & there’s loads to do in the area to keep everyone entertained!

Castle View is a lovely home with everything you need for your stay.

Simon and Zoe have thought of everything. We loved the hot tub, games room, all the board games. Comfortable beds and all close to the coast.

Excellent holiday home which 3 adults and 5 small children thoroughly enjoyed.

Plenty of space for us all. The Games Room and large dining table enabled us to do plenty of half term/Halloween activities and then enjoy movies on the lounge TV. Lots of things to do a short drive away. The children enjoyed crabbing in Whitby, a ride on the North Yorks Railway, making potions in Goathland and enjoying ice creams at the famous Harbour Bar in Scarborough. The hot tub for the adults after some very hectic days was just what we needed. Highly recommend this property.

It was extremely well equipped kitchen.

The property was very clean on arrival and smelled lovely. The beds were very comfortable, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Lovely spacious property which was clean and comfortable and ideal for larger family groups.

The large enclosed garden was perfect for our two small dogs and our 3 years old grandson to play in. The hot tub was a nice addition for the adults to enjoy. The cake on our arrival was very welcome. Property is situated in a nice location with not too far to drive to most of the areas attractions. The 2 pubs in the village were very nice although we found them a little further from the cottage than we had expected.The only thing I thought would have been a useful addition to the house, given that it is meant for large groups with children and also with having the hot tub which we used a lot of towels for,would be a tumble dryer as it was difficult to dry all the towels and washing during the week. That small point aside this was a lovely holiday home and we had a very enjoyable stay.

24 hours prior to our arrival I was made redundant.

This holiday was booked in December but couldn't have come at a better time for me, wife and 2 kids (August).You are literally 10 minutes by car to the beach ,water park, oriental gardens etc....there is so much to do and yes, you can see the castle from the front! It's quiet, garden is huge and the games room was a big hit! Gas BBQ was used a few times and the hot tub rehab'd the legs after days upon days of activities. What a week we had! Everything is dog friendly so don't be concerned about that either! Even the pirate ship sea excursions welcome "sea dogs".

We had a lovely stay at Castle View in early August.

Everything was as described. The house was spacious lovely and well equipped. We really liked the hot tub and access to the EV car charging point. Would definitely come back here again on future visits to the area.

We've had a fabulous time at Castle View.

Everything we needed for our family and friends get together was sorted. 2 bathrooms and a handy toilet downstairs, comfortable beds (not sleigh ones as my sons are over 6 ft!). Enough parking space for 3 cars, a luxurious large hot tub - very clean and well maintained. The children loved the garden and games room and the owners left us with great local information and little treats. We did find the amount of steps tricky but we took care and didn't have any accidents.

Fantastic property, clean, Comfortable and spacious. Some little extra touches from last year a dog wash station, meant the pooches could stay clean after walks and the beech. A washing line great for sunny days and drying of hot tub attire. A new lovely dining table outside. An air fryer. The owners are great and get back to you if you need anything and check the hot tub daily each morning. An amazing 10/10 property Thank you for our stay

Wow what a superb holiday home.

So comfortable and spotless. Very well equipped. Spacious rooms. Lovely hot tub and garden. Lots of treats and extras which made it very special and welcoming. Quiet location and close to Scarborough.. Highly recommended. We will certainly return here. We have stayed in many cottages ,this is one of the best .

Castle View had everything we needed to enjoy a fabulous week away with family and our two dogs.

The hot tub was amazing and was a real bonus considering the weather! The property was decorated in a Halloween theme and we were left with some nice goodies on our arrival which were all nice touches. It was a great location both for access to Scarborough and for the views. We came away for my 50th birthday celebrations and would love to come back in the future.

We had a lovely holiday and the location of the house was great with easy access to the coast and countryside too - The hot tub was a great addition - however the house itself looks tired and there were a number of maintenance issues that need addressing - the heating never got hot / the main bathroom had no heat at all until my husband bled the radiator then it was just aired - the log burner was not set for our arrival and was impossible to set and light with no kindling or lighter / matches - the oven door would not close properly - the dishwasher was unpredictable and sometimes did not clean the pots so had to hand wash them - I’m sure these are simple fixes but because of these issues we would not return.

Small maintenance issues being addressed and other than that the accommodation is very clean and cared for.

Hot tub immaculately clean and well maintained. Garden is large and well furnished amd maintained. Larger than average property for this price range. Plenty of areas for the familly to be together or break out into.

Lots for the children to do and enough space for the whole family. Bedrooms were a lovely size and beds very comfortable. Garden was amazing and the little one loved the climbing frame and us grown ups loved the hot tub. We would definitely stay again.

Can't fault it.

Very thoughtfully planned for a family holiday. A nice gamesroom and a lovely garden. Super kitchen and diner with everything you could need, and the cake and bread were a lovely touch. Everything was spotlessly clean. Weather was cold during our visit but there are plenty of pet farms, and the Dalby Forest is not far away and great for kids with the Gruffolo trail and Enchanted Wood.

Just returned from a weeks stay at Castle view, 2 X couples and 2 X dogs the property is Astounding , the kitchen, Dining room and bedrooms are very spacious.

The living room is spacious and has a smart TV now which is great 3 settees, and with a bit of imagination and rearranging all can enjoy the TV as it’s on the chimney breast. However we did not need to watch TV much as the garden is too tempting to sit in and we were blessed with fabulous weather. The Hot tub is amazing and the owners check the quality of the water to ensure it’s safe use. The local pub serves quality food just under a miles walk away and is dog friendly. ( The three Jolly Sailors) All the Bedrooms have quality furnishings and the towels are fluffy and plenty. This property gives you the best of both coastal and country walks to enjoy and the local supermarket 2.5 miles away (Proudfoots) Stock everything you need. The garden in a morning is full of bird song and is south facing so you can appreciate the sun most of the day into early evening. A 10/10 property and we would like to thank Zoe the owner and her family for this extra special property. The only thing I would suggest which is very small is a retractable washing line as the weather was so good, you could dry your hot tub swim wear and hot tub towels, and a small attachment to the cold tap outside with a sprinkler would ensure rinsing the dogs off ( Zoe did give us the combination to access the hose pipe but if one was attached on a small pipe this would benefit all dog owners) You will not be disappointed if you choose castle view for your holiday family get away it is without a doubt stunning. Had a fantastic time in a fantastic home.

Plenty of scenic walks, close to all local amenities but yet very peaceful and relaxing, especially the hot tub on a evening after a busy day exploring. Had a great holiday and even got a sun tan. Perfect.

Lovely house, however a safety gate at the top of the 4 steps leading to the games room & outside door would be better as we had a 1 year old with us.

We stayed at Castle View over Christmas.

The house was lovely decorated with Christmas decorations. The location of the house is spot on! The property is stunning! The beds were so comfy! Everything from start to finish was lovely. We had lots of laughs in the hot tub and playing tabletop football. I would definitely recommend Castle View and would love to return one day!

Just a short drive away from the coast and the views from the upstairs windows of scarborough castle and the sea are lovely. Hot tub was used every night,we had family fun and laughter in the games room. A beautiful garden which the dogs enjoyed. And just a 5 minute drive into Scarborough, Bridlington n Filey close to hand. Will definitely book again.

This is a beautiful property and the owners have thought of everything to make a pleasant holiday.

The home is well equipped and the hot tub well maintained. The garden is lovely to sit in and again well maintained. In a nice quiet area but within east reach of many areas and restaurants. The dog welcome pack and treats was a nice touch. We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday and loved the property and would definitely recommend and would certainly book this property again

A comfortable and well equipped property, which was spotlessly clean.

I agree with a previous reviewer that a gate would be useful at the top of the steps down to the conservatory, but we came up with our own solution. Situated on a quiet lane. We made good use of the hot tub and garden and the children had fun on the slide. A lovely place to spend a family holiday - very handy for all the facilities in Scarborough. Beautiful house in a lovely quiet location yet within a max of half an hours drive to Scarborough, Robin Hoods Bay and Whitby and within walking distance of nice walks and pubs.

Beds really comfy, showers great, plenty of room. Loved the hot tub and garden, which is very secure if you are taking a dog. If taking toddlers/elderly dogs - there are steps from decking to garden which you can see on photos but we managed with our old dog. Fantastic holiday home.

Lovely touches of chocolate cake bubbles and Easter eggs on our arrival. House was very clean and well presented. Plenty of room for our family of six adults a toddler and a dog. Great area to stay with easy access to all the local amenities. We made good use of the hot tub and play room and our granddaughter loved the new slide. Only slight downside was the open staircase of four steps from the dining room down to playroom and access to garden which was a bit of an issue with a toddler. This wasn’t mentioned on the description and if we had realised we would have brought our stair gate which would have been a little safer than placing a couple of dining chairs across the entrance. But that said we would all definitely return and re book and recommend this property. Thank you to the owners for a wonderful stay.

An amazing place to holiday.

8 of us came for a nice girly weekend. The house is gorgeous, comfy beds, good showers, lush log burner, and the hot tub was fab we spent a lot of time in there! Bottle of fizz, a gorgeous choc cake and bread were left for us, lovely touch. We went into Scarborough one evening for a meal. We are looking to book again in November it was so good and so reasonable. Thank you Zoe and family we will be back x

Amazing accommodation, perfect for the members of the family young and old.

Lovely big garden for the dog to run around in. Lovely local pubs that served really good food. We were also greeted with a warm welcome. Easy to catch busses in to Scarborough and Whitby. We would definitely recommend this property. A great please to make happy family memories.

Absolutely beautiful house with such fab amenities.

We loved our stay and the only down side was coming home. The lounge was fab and the log burning fire got well used. The kitchen was modern and well equipped, we just couldn't get the grill to work (not a problem, breakfast just took longer to cook). The dining area was gorgeous, looking out on to the extensive garden. The boys loved the play room and the ladies got good use out of the hot tub. The bedrooms were very comfy and spacious. Both bathrooms were well appointed but the shower in the second one seemed to have no pressure si we all queued for the main bathroom, again no massive problem but worth a mention. The welcome pack was really lovely and we were so grateful for the cake & prosecco. We managed to visit Whitby & Scarborough which we loved. Just a shame we weren't there longer to get to see more places. Highly recommended place to stay, we loved it. Thank you to the Jenkins family x

Beds very comfy, lovely and clean , a surprise welcome pack which was much appreciated. Hot tub and games room were a booking factor and were well used with 2 teenagers. Lovely friendly host, Zoe. Just a lovely stay in an ideal home with my family and dog. Would certainly book again.

Overall we were very happy with the property and found it clean and spacious.

We also enjoyed the hot tub which we found to be of good quality and size. Only downside were the TVs in the property and the XBox which would not operate. Lounge TV required batteries and the bedroom TVs were not functioning. However these were minor issues which did not overly affect our impression of the property.

The holiday home was absolutely lovely.

So many thoughtful finishing touches, including a welcome bottle of prosecco and a delicious chocolate cake. Everywhere was clean and the beds were comfortable. The hot tub was amazing and there was a large garden and decking area. Only downside was our large dog is elderly and couldn't walk down the many little steep sets of steps down into the garden. Overall we had a wonderful time staying in this well equipped and spacious home.

The house was beautiful.

Very spacious & was like home from home. Also spotlessly clean. It has everything you need. All the beds were so comfortable too. The hotub & bar was a fabulous feature to the beautiful garden. Especially in the perfect hot weather we were lucky enough to have. The welcome pack was a beautiful gesture, this included prosecco, chocolate cake, bread, cleaning materials etc. There is a couple of pubs a two minute drive away or 15 minute walk from the house. They are both really nice. My family had the best time ever.

There were 6 adults and 2 dogs, there was plenty of room and the garden was very safe for the dogs. The hot tub was fab. The house is a really good base as there are many places to see and enjoy. We will definitely return

Cleaned to a very high spec with all necessary equipment for self catering. The owners had decorated it for Christmas inside and out. It was like walking onto a movie set. The hot tub was fantastic. The garden was totally enclosed so we did not have to keep a constant eye on our fur babies. We all loved every minute of our stay and would definitely stay again and have recommended it to all our friends.

The owners were on hand to deal with any query or issue we had.

The property was very spacious & really well equipped. We would love to return in the future.

The house was in an excellent location to visit lots of beaches and other activities.

The house was welcoming with an amazing hamper when we got there, even things left for our dogs. Overall really lovely place to stay and either relax or explore. Local pub also did delicious food.

The house is beautiful, we had a fantastic time.

The extra touches were really lovely, we arrived to a chocolate cake, a loaf of fresh bread and a little pack with tea, coffee, milk, biscuits, cleaning stuff etc. There were fresh flowers on the tables, the dining table was decorated with little pots of conserves and other bits, it felt very homely. We will definitely be returning and taking new guests when we are allowed. We loved the hot tub and the games room especially! Thanks To “ the Jenkins” for a wonderful weekend!

! The house was immaculate and so clean which was so reassuring. Great location for all surrounding areas. Loved the hot tub too. Couldn’t have asked for more. Would certainly return!!

This is a lovely, relaxing holiday cottage, which has plenty of space.

It is very clean and well presented . A secure and a well equipped garden area - with the added bonus of hot tub ( cleaned daily) . Space to lock up your bikes . Near the different coastal resorts and Dalby forest . A cottage we will add to our return to list

The house was fantastic, really well equipped and spacious.

The host had gone the extra mile to create a great holiday home, even providing us with a lovely welcome pack (the cake went down well with the kids!) I highly recommend Castle View, we hope to return if it’s not already fully booked!

We had a fabulous week at Castle View.

We felt very safe at all times. The house was spotless and great thought had gone in to COVID-19 cleanliness including hand wash, hand cream, cleaning products etc. Castle View is an amazing property, there is everything you need for a week away. There was nothing that wasn’t there that we needed. The care package left for your arrival is wonderful and the chocolate cake from the local grocers was divine. So good that we phoned and asked the owners where it was from so we could call and get one on the way home. Thank you very much for another fabulous holiday which was well needed in these strange times.
