  • "This cottage is in a beautiful area, a 5 minute walk from the Cleveland Way with spectacular walking and just 10 minutes walk into Hinderwell which has two good pubs and other facilities."

We were however, a little disappointed with the accommodation. It does say in the description that the stairs are steep and they are - very! In fact the the last few stairs towards the top are positively dangerous where the rail sort of disappears into the wall. There was an overall general lack of general maintenance ie black mould in the shower and a large glacier in the fridge which must have taken many months to grow to its size. All of this didn't stop us enjoying our holiday and we had brilliant weather.

Apologies for the fridge it must have been left open on occasions for this to happen and it was rectified once was there was a gap in bookings for fridge to be defrosted. It is made as clear as possible on the listing about the steep stairs. Now it has been brought to our attention the cleaner has now rectified the tiny amount mould which was missed on the bottom corner of shower door. Property Owner

  • "Lovely cottage in an excellent position on the coast with plenty of walks on the doorstep."

Well equipped and comfy. Slightly disappointed that when we arrived there were no logs, matches or firefighters to use the log burner. Had to go out that night and buy some. The upstairs toilet caused a few problems as it can only be used for no1’s and the stairs are very steep to be used at night to go down to the other bathroom. Apart from that we enjoyed our stay and overall we were happy with our accommodation.

Other than that we had a comfortable stay . The kitchen is well equipped and we enjoyed the log fire . The cottage is in a good location for exploring that beautiful coast line and quaint fishing villages of Staithes , Runswick and Robin Hoods Bay .

  • "Very comfortable and clean cottage."

Particularly loved the fact that it had a parking space as where we normally stay this isn’t the case. We found the bed very comfortable and slept well when you take into account the extreme temperatures. The area is quiet and the two pubs and the butchers are excellent. We appreciated having a map of the area in the cottage as we walked every day while we were there.

Thank you for taking time to give us such lovely feedback, glad you had a good stay and we look forward to maybe welcoming you back in the future. Property Owner

Also no blue bin bags for recycling. But thus didnt spoil our holiday and would definitely go back again. It had everything we needed like a washing machine and a good size freezer, both essential for our dogs food and towels.

  • "Lovely homely cottage, location was excellent."

cleanliness Great. only downside to our stay was the fire didnt have any logs or lighters which we needed after arriving on a cold wet day. main reason we booked this cottage was for the fire. went and bought logs and lighters next day though.

We do apologise for the fire not being layed. This was an oversight by our service providers and shouldnt happen again. Otherwise we hope you enjoyed your stay and thanks for the valuable feedback. Property Owner

The kitchen was well stocked and the fridge freezer was good too. The only thing I would change is a warning about the steep stairs. Some people would like to know that in advance. Will be going there again.

Thank you for your valuable feedback and we look forward to welcoming you back later this year. Sykes have now mentioned the stairs on the description. Property Owner

Easy access to the Cleaveland way, we walked to Staithes one and a half miles along the coast path for a pub lunch. It’s a ten minute walk to the village pub of an evening. You can be in the wilderness of the moors in minutes or a 20 minute drive to Whitby. The cottage was well equipped and the beds were comfortable. After a blustery October day out it was lovely to light the log burner and relax in the cottage. A very enjoyable holiday.

The dining room radiator was leaking and some of the saucepans and kitchen utensils could do with replacing. I know this might seem a little harsh but if these things get sorted it will make the Cottage a nicer place to stay. Overall the cottage is very nice and in a great location, we will definitely be coming back in the future.
