  • "A very comfortable lodge in a peaceful setting."

Our first visit to the area and although weather wasn't kind we didn't let it affect our holiday. Lodge owners were lovely and even checked up on us personally to make sure we were comfortable enough/warm enough or if there was anything else we needed. Will definitely be going back, or even taking a look at their cottage (which they informed us about!)

  • "Beautiful welcome hamper with fresh fruit was a lovely surprise."

Jamie was very friendly and helpful when we struggled to get the hot water to work, even checking in on us to see if there were any other issues. Beds were very comfortable.

  • "We had a lovely holiday in the lodge."

So well equipped with everything you need. The hamper on arrival was amazing absolutely everything in it even dog biscuits. The beds and bedding was so comfortable. The owners came to see if we settled in and had everything we needed then before we left they came to wish us a safe journey home that was lovely. To wake up to the horses in the field and the owl hooting and flying around was tranquil. We will definitely be back. Even without an enclosed garden it didn’t affect our holiday but if there was anyway to enclose it that would be a real plus.

  • "We enjoyed our stay in this lovely, clean and comfortable holiday lodge."

We had everything we needed and a fab welcome basket on arrival. Thank you to Jamie, the owner, who popped by to make sure we were ok and to check to see if there was anything we needed. The hunting barn owl in the evening was an extra treat! The lodge is well positioned to explore the area with Saltburn, Whitby and all the coastal villages within a very short drive. We had a lovely time and the sun even made an appearance!

  • "We had a great time at the lodge, it was in a perfect location for what we needed."

Quiet and out of the way due to our dogs not liking fireworks. The comfort and cleanliness were great and Jamie was always on hand if there was a problem. The welcome basket was the best we have come across. The time away was topped off with seeing the Aurora Borealis, amazing experience, with the perfect night time weather hardly anylight pollution. Would definitely recommend it thankyou.

  • "We had a great few days in this peaceful location."

The views over the countryside were great and it was a real treat to see the owls come and go at dawn and dusk. Located at the bottom of the farm's track so no traffic other than the seldom coming and goings of the farmers. Jamie was really helpful at the start of our trip and made some great recommendations for trips out (Runswick Bay being one). The property itself was perfectly formed for a family of five (plus dog) and it was so cosy during the Stormy weather. Then heating was quick to warm the property, and the beds were comfy. All in all this property worked perfectly for us which is not always the case in some holiday rentals. Will definitely return if back in the area, as there is much more to explore in this lovely part of the world. The garden is not enclosed as advertised but with no traffic this was not an issue for our little dog.

  • "The location was idyllic."

The lodge clean and comfortable with a very much appreciated welcome basket. The owner popped by to make sure all was well ( which it was). Such a peaceful and tranquil setting was ideal for relaxing for those wanting to get away from it all. Near by was a pub doing a brilliant carvery and an excellent chip shop.Handy for trips to the coast and country walks. I hope we get chance to revisit.

The daily visits by the horses was an added bonus and our children loved stroking them. The location was perfect everything just a little drive away. We can't recommend Salt Burn by the sea enough it was beautiful and reasonably priced we went 2 days on the run. Jamie the owner was fantastic and popped in to say hello.
