  • "Arrived and was over the moon with the cottage."

Extremely clean and comfortable. I brought t -towels etc with me but they had been provided. There was nothing I had to provide apart ftom toiletries and food. There was even a pint of milk in the fridge along with a salted caramel cake for us what a lovely gesture. A very quiet place to chill out and enjoy the surroundings.

  • "What an amazing property."

The location was idyllic. Cleanliness was second to none. Very restful ambience . Super comfortable bed. Melissa was on hand but respected our privacy. Ideally located for access to the beautiful city of York, shopping and scenic coastal routes. Highly recommend this property and will definitely make a return visit. • "The cottage was well presented, nice and clean and ticked all the boxes for a relaxing holiday."

The owners were very helpful and went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. We thought the bedroom had a king size bed so we were slightly disappointed that it seemed like a normal size double. This could be down to the mattress being a bit small for the bed frame. All in all though an excellent holiday cottage with a beautiful setting near the forest with sightings of deer and other wildlife. Look forward to returning in the future.

  • "We had a wonderful 4-day holiday at The Stable."

The property is excellent and is located in a quiet area on the outskirts of York but very close to the Park and Ride stop that takes you quickly into the centre of York. It is an ideal spot for exploring the city of York which has so much to offer. We cannot thank Melissa too much for making our stay such a joy. We recommend this property very highly.

  • "I have been several times and it never fails to impress me."

It is comfortable but smart. It is always warm and the owners leave very clear instructions as to how to alter the radiators, so you can have the whole cottage at a temperature that suits you. It is always spotlessly clean and they had taken on board a feedback I left the time before. The owners are always around if you need tham but keep out of your way and give you space. We have all our holidays in holiday cottages and this one is up there with the best of them.

  • "Excellent. First time in The Stables but stayed in The Paddocks several time."

Both are excellent. The Christmas tree was up and the fire laid which were lovely touches. They are very quiet a peaceful but very near York and shops. The cottage is very warm and comfortable and has a very good level of equipment in the kitchen. Everything is good quality and very clean. My only very small niggle is that perhaps there could have been more pillows or plumber pillows, they were very flat and the quilt could have been a little warmed for the cold nights. But I can't wait to go back in January. Thank you so much for a wonderful place to stay.

  • "Great location."

Comfortable and clean house. Woods to walk in close by. There’s a Bar a short walk away which also serves food, but far away enough that noise is not a problem. And golf if that’s your thing. We had a very enjoyable stay.

  • "This was our first time in a Sykes Holiday Cottage and it was fantastic."

The Cottage was immaculate with everything for your comfort and enjoyment and the setting is perfect for a peaceful relaxing break. We were met with lovely lemon drizzle cake and milk in the fridge which we thought was very kind and thoughtful and although we met Melissa briefly she left us alone to enjoy our break. Will definitely book again if we fancy a break in that area.

Found the accommodation to be excellent- spacious warm, very well decorated. Tastefully furnished with plenty of storage space. The bath/shower room is very well done. In addition to electric heating, there is a wood burning stove in the lounge if required- not needed during our stay. A great location for visiting York etc. Thank you Melissa for welcome cake and milk. We look forward to another visit in the future.
