  • "Excellent property, full of features, charm and mod-cons."

Pool and sauna lovely, though a little nippy for swimming in October. Host came to meet us and welcomed us to the area and showed us around the grounds. Pub across the road a great addition. Would highly recommend; great for families and friends just looking for a break. (Car needed to get around).

  • "What a perfect little get away!"

We wouldn’t change a thing about the place. The house had every home comfort we needed for adults, kids and the dogs. Just a beautiful place to stay. The owners left us some lovely little touches such as a bottle of Prosecco, cookies and treats for the dogs! The enclosed garden was perfect for us to let them wonder as well as the luxury of having a little herb garden to pick some fresh produce and the swimming pool to ourselves. The owners were friendly and helpful, and I will definately be recommending the place to friends and family. The pub being 1 minute walk away was a good added bonus too!

One of our family members was in a wheelchair and we knew the house wasn't listed as assemble but we make everything work. The owners couldn't do enough for us all. A very beautiful house with everything you'll ever need and wonderful owners near by if needed. We loved it and will definitely be back. Thank you so much

Lovely to be able to be with all the family (and dogs) in one place Owner very helpful Sorry not to be able yo use the pool more, but our autistic son who loves swimming is awaiting ear surgery and swimming is forbidden. Guess we'll have to come back next year. Yorkshire Wolds was a new area for me and we really enjoyed it. Super hose and location

We had a fantastic few days! Everyone was catered for from a 9 month old baby through to teenagers and to us adults. We would highly recommend to anyone thinking of staying as the cottage as it was beautiful, spacious modern and clean. Brilliant location and close to Scarborough, flamingo land and York which was perfect for our family and the dog. Thank you

(We even made a lovely stew and a apple&rhubarb pie from the fruit vegetables in the garden) Thanks Nicky. Loved it.

  • "We've just returned from a fantastic 3 night stay at Bailey House."

The accommodation was excellent with everything we could possibly need (apart from some prosecco flutes!). The adults practically lived in the kitchen/diner area and the kids/teens took over the cosy living room. We loved the pool and the proximity to the pub! The bedrooms were comfortable with plenty of hanging space, 3 bathrooms which were spotlessly clean and beautifully decorated, especially the main larger one. We visited Scarborough, York and the York Maze whilst there, all within 40 mins drive. We are already planning a return visit next year!

  • "Great size house and pool."

Unfortunately when we went it was really hot and we couldn’t have windows open for smell, the house was full of flies. We understand it was a working farm but didn’t expect this. Phoned owner to say tumble dryer wasn’t working and it didn’t get fixed , to be fair he asked if we needed to use his . A tip for anyone take pegs to put washing out on line. They do supply every kitchen utensil you will ever need.

We are very sorry the tumbler drier broke, we have replaced with a new one within 4 days. Sadly they couldn’t come any quicker. There were other driers available outside your house which we should have highlighted to you . Sadly when your are in the country there are flies we do try to provide fly spray my apologies if this wasn’t there. I can assure you your house was cleaned and fly free from 2 pm on the day of your arrival. Pegs have been bought, very useful thing to highlight easily sorted and obviously helpful. Property Owner

  • "Fantastic cottage, couldn’t fault."

If anything the pictures didn’t do it justice, was a lot bigger than expected. The garden was bigger and more enclosed than we thought (dogs could go outside without worry). The property was immaculately clean and we felt very much at home within minutes of unpacking. Unsure if the pool was heated with solar panels but it was warmer than it looked. Only disappointment was we didn’t book for longer

The cottage is situated in a quiet village but with a local pub that serves decent food and is very welcoming. The cottage itself is superb. It has all the necessary equipment needed in the kitchen including three ovens, large fridge freezer, washing machine and drier. The bedrooms are well furnished and the beds are very comfortable. There are three bathrooms and a downstairs toilet and a comfortable lounge. We couldn’t have asked for more and we fully enjoyed our week and would recommend the cottage to anyone.

On 3 levels, so it took our little dog a couple of days knowing which stairs went where! Such a comfy lounge, with a wood burner, wow does it throw some heat out with only 1 log burning! A fantastically equipped kitchen, 4 beautiful bedrooms, you could want for nothing. A very thoughtful welcome basket, plus a huge box of chocolates as it was my birthday whilst here. Shame about the weather, but end of January never is nice, but at least we went out every day. Would stay here again. Thank you to the owners.

It was good to relax and ease into the new year gently. We’d love to stay again and will have a Labrador with us next time, so very happy with how dog friendly the property is. Beautiful spacious accommodation, and very cosy in winter with ground source heating and a great log burner. We can definitely recommend the Star Inn down in the village, a warm welcome and lovely food.
