The kitchen, dinning and living area with log burner is very nice. Then there is the large roomy conservatory which is warm and very relaxing with lovely views of the secluded garden with a smashing hot tub. The bedroom and bathroom are very spacious too, making the cottage a home from home. We found some great Bridleways to walk and cycle on around the village and to the nearby village of Roos. We have had many lovely cottage breaks in the last few years and Ash Tree Lodge is up there at the Top of some fabulous holiday lets. Many thanks.

The gifts left for us was a lovely welcome surprise. The place was very clean and the bed was very comfortable. The hot tub was lovely/clean and very nice to go in, in the evenings. One local pub made us and our dog very welcome, with dog treats and even a dog bed for her to lay in. They weren't doing food when we stayed but should be now. The other pub NOT dog friendly. The only slight negative for us, and really and only on a personal level was the sofa/chair were not reclining ones to put tired legs up. The smokers shelter was the best we have ever seen and my partner was well pleased when it dropped cool. We would definitely return and highly recommend

The enclosed garden was perfect for our small dog. The owner was extremely helpful, including putting on lights for our very late arrival due to an eventful journey there. He came to check we were OK, the following morning. The hot tub was lovely, sadly we couldn't use it one evening due to the smoke/dust from the neighbouring farm. A lovely base to return to after our days out and about

Although only a one bedroom the conservatory was large and the property felt very spacious, with charming decor throughout. The hot tub was wonderful to relax in each afternoon after exploring the area. We had a lovely Sunday lunch in the Black Bull which was just a 5 minute walk away. Didn't try the other village pub as they weren't dog friendly. We particularly enjoyed our day at Hornsea with fantastic fish and chips from Sullivan's on the sea front. All in all we had a great holiday.

What a hidden gem ash tree lodge is. Comfortable, spacious, clean and well appointed. Thank you Chris for a memorable stay. We tried the black bull in burton pidsea once and didn’t return which says it all really, we were unable to try the Nancy as they are not dog friendly. However the Stag Inn at Lelley is dog friendly and fabulous, especially if you go on Thursday night which is Steak night. Withernsea beach great for the dog so long as you get there for low tide.

  • "A very comfortable stay for the 2 of us and our dog."

Our experience was only slightly spoiled but a couple of minor issues which should be able to be resolved quite easily: Only 2 knives, forks, spoons, t-spoons in the property. What’s the problem? There’s just the 2 of us, right? Of course that’s correct but a set of 6 would have enabled us to make sandwiches, slice fruit, have dinner and have enough to do the same on the following day. The cutlery we were left was not of an expensive quality so no risk of theft, although we did feel that we weren’t to be trusted. Nitpicking again I’m afraid but as we used the log burner every night, we also used the fireside tool set to clean up after each night. The hand brush was our issue and had clearly seen better days as far a bristles were concerned; given enough time and inclination (both in short supply) we could have counted the individual bristles on our fingers. Ok, that was an exaggeration but hope you get the point. On the positive side, a free supply of logs was made available for the duration of our stay - we've never found this before at any other rental properties. That’s about it. Please don’t let the points above put you off. They are trivial but annoyed us somewhat so felt the need to make the owners aware.

Then if you want to blow the cobwebs away there are several beaches within easy reach and after a long day doing nothing you can relax and soak your bones in the Jacuzzi.
