We had a great holiday in Marske, such a lovely little place with very good local facilities and plenty to do in and around the area. The cottage was much bigger than we had expected, and had everything we needed for a comfortable weeks holiday. The beach is about a gentle 10 minute walk away, and is spotlessly clean - you can walk along it to Saltburn in one direction and Redcar in the other, and both are worth the effort, Saltburn in particular is a lovely place to visit. Whitby is about a 30 minute drive away, and is as good you would expect but probably very busy. Car parking at the cottage is in a reserved spot behind the property, which is very useful - but be warned access is quite tight - we have an e-class coupe so not the biggest car in the world, but a reasonable size. So if you have a bigger car you might want to bear this in mind. All in all we had a lovely time and have no reservation in recommending Victoria Cottage to anyone considering a holiday in the area, especially if you have a dog who loves walking / playing on the beach.
