  • "Hi loved the cottage, I think you need a hoover so that people could tidy after themselves the little brush and pan is not so good for older people to use."

  • "The house was clean and comfortable and we enjoyed our stay."

    The landlady was easily accessible and was happy to help with all queries we had. Unfortunately the downstairs kitchen area did cause a problem for my wife as she has mobility problems. I would also suggest creating a welcome pack, in a box or basket, left in the kichen to give guests a feeling of a personal touch. There was tea, coffee, sugar and milk in place for us but feel having these items packaged up would give a nice welcome.

We understand your comments about mobility challenges, as outlined in the property description, the house is set across five floors, including stairs leading down to the kitchen. While this information is provided in advance, we understand that the kitchen stairs, in particular, may present challenges for guests with mobility concerns. With regard to the suggestion of a welcome basket. Whilst not packaged into a single basket/box, we do aim to ensure guests have everything they need for a comfortable stay. The property is stocked with a welcome book containing useful information about the house and local area, along with tea, coffee, sugar, milk, cleaning products, handwash, shampoo, conditioner, and shower gel.   • "We had a very comfortable stay in Launcher's cottage - the location was great (easy walking distance to both North and South Bay beaches, as well as shops and restaurants), although you can't avoid the hills!"

    The cottage had everything we needed, with a spacious main bathroom and useful downstairs toilet. The view from the top room was amazing and the outside space was really handy. Parking was easy, right outside. My only criticism was that the fridge was a bit small for 5 people staying for a week (with only a small freezer section).

  • "Beautiful property in a great location."

    Immaculate inside with lovely comfortable furniture and beds. Everything you need is there from coffee to tea bags to laundry products. Great sea views from the top of the property with binoculars an added bonus. I would highly recommend staying here. Parking was right outside the door with permits supplied. I will definitely stay here when visiting Scarborough again. Thankyou for a lovely stay

  • "This is definately one of the better properties in the old town area."

    The small touches in the property are great and make it feel homely but also like you are in a destination due to the seaside theme rinnung through and high quality fo finish in such an old property. The beds are excellent and facilities and space well thought out . The welcome booklet had everything you needed and Alex was super responsive . Would definately return. The limitations accessability wise are well explained as per the age of the property . We had a great few days as a family and the house was a pleasure to return to

  • "We had an amazing and relaxing stay at Launchers Cottage with everything there we could possibly need it was nice to have tea and coffee there for us when we arrived and the cottage is decorated beautifully and very clean and cozy with a lovely outside area with doors opening up to the garden, the beds are very comfy everything is within walking distance from the castle to the beach and the shops just up the road non of us drive so it was easy to pick up bits from the shop that we needed, thanks for a lovely stay and we hope to come back soon."

  • "Well kept, clean and comfortable."

    Nicely decorated in neutral tones. Only a few minutes walk to the beach. (My only suggestion for improvement would be provision of a washing line or clothes horse.)

  • "A lovely cottage."

    Lights in the garden and some flowers and a bench and table, nice to be able to sit outside. Lovely towels, toilet rolls and it was lovely and clean. It is the small things like milk, teabags and coffee, when you arrive and in need of a tea or coffee. We will go back to Launchers cottage and parking permits are very welcome. Highly recommend.

  • "I recently had the most wonderful stay at Launchers Cottage in Scarborough, and I honestly can’t recommend it highly enough!"

    The property itself is absolutely gorgeous—beautifully presented, full of charm, and incredibly comfortable. It’s set in a truly stunning location, making it the perfect place to relax and unwind. We loved how close it was to the beach and south bay but also St Mary's church and the castle. It really gives you the best of everything. The cottage was immaculate and so cosy with some lovely touches such as tea bags, coffee and cleaning supplies. The host went over and above for me when I realised I'd left something behind, getting their handyman to pop round to check. They stayed in constant touch with me to make sure i got my items back and couldn't have been more helpful. Everything about this stay exceeded my expectations. I would return in a heartbeat and will definitely be recommending it to everyone I know, great cottage, parking on street, fab price and location - i highly recommend you check this place out and book a stay!

  • "We had a lovely stay at Launcher’s cottage."

    We had to change our dates at the last minute due to our son being poorly, but thankfully the owner replied very quickly and they could accommodate us a day later for the 7 nights we booked. Just be aware that the house is over 5 stories, so not suitable for elderly, or those with younger mobile children (as no baby gates). The house is well situated for walking to both bays in Scarborough. At the time of our stay we had no difficulties with parking outside of the house either, using the visitor permits provided. We cooked a few times in the evenings at the house and found everything we needed in the well equipped kitchen. Things provided to make everything easier - enough toilet rolls, washing up liquid, washing machine tablets, shampoo etc in the bathroom! Thank you for a wonderful stay!

  • "The cottage was charming, pretty, cosy and with an outdoor area."

    The beds were comfortable. It is very clean and tidy, the decor is tasteful and the kitchen well equipped with a great cooker and really good oven.The dining area opens onto a little courtyard and it was pleasant to eat indoors with the doors open to the outside. I would draw attention (for older people) to the fact that from this location a fair amount of walking is necessary if you have come without a car, and steep hills are unavoidable.On the plus side you do return from holiday a good bit fitter. Would definitely recommend this lovely cottage.

  • "Thank you for a lovely stay at Launchers cottage."

    It’s been about 6-7 years since our last stay and it’s still a fabulous place. Comfortable and well presented with adequate facilities. Parking permits available however struggled to park due to a late arrival on our behalf. If I could make a recommendation it would be for a comfortable outside seating.

  • "Lovely cottage , very tastefully decorated with all the cleaning supplies , tea towels , and towels provided ."

    Coffee and tea supplied although no welcome pack as such which I think is often a nice touch . Well situated for the beach only a few minutes walk, we parked fine outside the cottage but not sure if this would be the same in peak times with a day ticket you have to display in your car that is provided by the owners . 15 minute walk into Scarborough but is quite hilly so not for the immobile . The only negative I would say is the outdoor space . Very useful if you have a dog like I did but not very inviting . The rest of the house is beautiful but the outdoor space lets it down . I didn’t sit out there at all . It could be made to be really nice but just needs a bit of TLC . Overall great stay , lots of places to visit , we went to Whitby and filey but loads more we didn’t get to . Would definitely recommend this cottage . Very comfortable stay . Loved the decor and beds are very comfortable. Highly recommended but would be even better if outdoor space was improved. Don’t let this put you off though .
