Lovely cottage.

Very peaceful village. Good for dog walking. Close to lots of lovely places to visit. Will go again.

We had a lovely stay at Pegs Cottage , which was extremely clean and well equipped.

THIS was 2nd visit to the cottage and it was great very peaceful and the weather was good TIM the gardener was very good and he was very helpful WE both had a great holiday .

A comfortable and enjoyable stay at Peg’s Cottage.

Small, but large enough for 2 people. Everything we might need was there. An excellent starting point for trips to the coast, visits to N.T. properties and the Yorkshire moors.

Good situation for a quiet, peaceful holiday but close to amenities, would highly recommend.

This was our second visit as with the first absolutely enjoyed it.

Very friendly and helpful owner who lives on site and allows guests the use of her extensive garden. The accommodation is comfortable and provides everything which is likely to be required.

We had a wonderful holiday in Peg's Cottage.

A bonus was Tim, the friendly gardener, who was a mine of local information and very helpful. The cottage is compact but was more than big enough for the two of us and contained everything we needed (except oven gloves, but that was a minor point). The cottage is perfectly located to visit Helmsley, Thirsk, Kirkby Moorside, Pickering and seaside locations and the whole area is a foodie heaven! Thank you to the owner, Tonya and to the friendly gardener, Tim. A hugely enjoyable stay!

We had a lovely stay at pegs cottage, which is a little gem.

It had everything we needed, it was clean and welcoming, in a beautiful area, which was well Placed for everything we wanted to do. Our host Tonia and her gardener were both very friendly and helpful as were the villagers, we attended the open garden down the road and went for tea and cake at the village hall. We will gladly return next year.

Beautiful little cottage lovely setting the one was wonderful I am in a wheelchair most of the time and provided me with somewhere to charge the battery we were able to let our dog on the owners garden under supervision but he loved it to be honest I would recommend it to anyone so very friendly thank you

Pegs cottage is a small, clean & well kept property in a quiet but lovely village.

The kitchen had everything we could need although we did not cook ourselves. There is a small garden with seating which our two dogs enjoyed. Helmsley was a couple of miles away, handy for eating & shopping although the parking was expensive. There are plenty of pretty towns & villages to visit and the coast isn't too far, we had a lovely week inspite of the weather. The gardener was a lovely helpful man who was very knowledgeable about the surrounding area.

Beautiful little cottage

Tonia was really helpful as we had a big problem as car keys were lost,she went above and beyond what she needed to do to help us so we wouldn't be too inconvienced and have a spoiled stay.

dogs loved the garden but had to be carefully watched as there's a resident pheasant and lambs in the adjoining fields.very nice and peaceful place for a week's break, unfortunately we had the usual Yorkshire weather all week

The property was well enclosed and safe for our dog to roam also allowed to make use of the owners garden. Very peaceful location and ideal for visiting historical places of interest. Very much would recommend a stay here.

A lovely cottage in an out of the way location.

It has clearly been updated since the pictures online were taken. Good access to major routes to the coast and close enough to Helmsley to make eating out there possible. The facilities were really good and some unexpected extras ( milk, kitchen roll, tea and coffee) meant we could settle in straight away. We mainly used it as a base to explore the coast from and chose to eat out each night. But there were potsand pans etc available had we wanted to cook. The furniture was clean and comfortable enough for our needs. We stayed with 2 small dogs so it was great to have the little garden. We would definitely recommend and hope to return in the future.

The garden was a lovely space for our dog to run about in safely.Got to talk to Tim the gardener very friendly guy and knowledgeable about the area very helpful during the owners holiday absence.We will definitely book again thankyou.

This was a lovely homely comfortable cottage in a beautiful village.

The photos don't do the property justice as it is so much more updated than the photos show. We had the full use of the owners garden which our dog enjoyed and the owner was very friendly and provided us with tea, coffee and milk when we arrived. We couldn't fault anything as it had everything we needed and wouldn't hesitate to recommend.

Lovely cottage in a beautiful, quiet location.

It was home from home. The description in the advert needs updating. We read there was a DVD player but there wasn't . We had brought some DVD'S but couldn't watch them. Great base for exploring museums, castles etc. The gentleman who works on the property was very helpful and approachable. We had nice chats with him. He is a great asset, lovely guy.

We loved our stay at Peggs cottage, the host and her two dogs were charming and made us and our dog "Sugar" more than welcome.

Nothing was too much trouble. The property was cosy and well equipped and sugar loved the garden space. We were that comfortable that we were happy not to venture out to enjoy the beauty of the surrounding countryside. We would not hesitate to return should the opportunity present itself. We found peg's cottage warm and comfortable the bed extremely comfortable, we feel the description should be amended as we found no dvds and only two books also there is no gas fire in the lounge , unfortunately our two labs didn't got on with tonia's

Location is convenient.

Village is pleasant and quiet with plenty local walks. Owner very helpful and garden was fine with good on site parking.

The cottage was lovely as was the garden, Tonia was very nice just let you get on with your holiday but was there if you needed anything, we loved the village so quiet, and the surrounding area, would go back to Pegs cottage

Lovely clean, cosy cottage, 5 minutes drive from Helmsley, lovely walks from the door of the cottage via a very quiet village, the large gardens were beautifully maintained, secure parking right outside the door, the owner has provided everything you could possibly need and was on hand if you had any questions.

Lovely little cottage in a very quiet area.

Nice big tv and the wi-fi was excellent. Plenty of room for 2 people and a large dog. The owner is very friendly. There is also a huge grassy area outside the cottage. There are some lovely walks close by, with many nice places to visit within easy reach. If you are looking to get away from it all this is the place for you.

Had a great week ,the cottage was very well equipped .

Will be going back there if we go to this area again. Owner will give advise if requested without being in your way recommended .

We had a very enjoyable and comfortable stay at Peg's Cottage with our two dogs.

The owner is very friendly and accommodating. There are walks in the very quiet village, it's minutes from the lovely town of Helmsley (great fish & chips) and there is a farm shop/cafe a couple of miles away. Pockley is very well situated for the walks and attractions of the Yorkshire Moors

Perfect for a couple and small dog.

Tonia the property owner was very welcoming to my wife and I and our aged terrier. This was from initial phone contact through to meeting and sharing local knowledge. This was particularly helpful as we are considering buying property in North Yorkshire. She added helpful little touches of a welcome pack of tea/milk/coffee plus things for the dog. The cottage was small but perfectly laid out and equipped to a high standard.

We have stayed in several self-catering properties and Peg's Cottage is right up there as the best ever.

Location, general layout, ideal kitchen facilities all important factors for us and these were exceptional together with a welcoming host.

Enjoyed our week at Pegs cottage.

Everything was comfortable, and enjoyed the walks with the dogs. The cottage gave us all we needed and we shall certainly return at some time. Chris and Reg. 08-15 April.

Such a lovely cottage.

Tastefully decorated and comfortable. Slept really well and enjoyed the peace and quiet. Really appreciated that our dog was able to roam around the whole garden when the gates were closed and meet the owner's dogs. The gas log burner was really effective and quickly warmed up the whole place. Well equipped with crockery, cutlery but needed a new tin opener which we pointed out to the owner. We enjoyed some long walks with our dog along the country lanes.

We were very comfortable and everything needed was provided in the cottage .Bed was more comfortable than expected.I think a mattress topper has been added.

Chipped crockery in kitchen.

The bed was the most uncomfortable we have ever had left early because could not get a good night's sleep. You don't expect to pay £120 a night to sleep on substandard mattress

Everything you need. Owner seems very helpful ( although we never met ) Nice touch log burner. Only recommended new mattress & bigger tv as the one seams a good one but to small. Never the less would definitely recommend.

Would appreciate a more comfortable couch & the mattress is due to be changed but that’s the only thing that stands out. Cottage was ideal for dogs as garden was all enclosed and the property was spotless.

The property,it's internal ameneties, were fine and we really do hate to complain however - The Wifi for the period we were there was only available for a very, very short period and non existant for the remander.

Likewise the phone signal. The owner was and is aware of this but if any prospective customer have real needs in that direction this is not the place for you. This should be noted in the description.

quiet and peaceful

Small private garden in lower area adjacent property with table and chairs would I’m sure be appreciated by guests.

No vacuum cleaner so difficult to clean property before leaving. Larger TV I’m sure would be appreciated. WiFi signal poor but improved connection would help with holiday planning. The inclusion of the above points would further enhance what is a lovely little cottage.

The cottage was lovely, Tonia made us very welcome & was on hand regarding any questions or needing any help.

Our two dogs loved having run of big garden, Tonia's dogs, Hettie & Bundle were forgiving when Bella stole their toys & Hari kept barking at them!. Two downsides, absolutely no internet access which I could have done with for local / general information, & poor mobile phone reception. Also cost of car parking in Helmsley which I know isn't Tonia's doing, charges apply even with a blue badge, that's down to Rydale council, but yes we would stay at Peg's cottage again , wish we could've brought it home with us!.

Ideal venue for us.

We need ground floor only accommodation and this cottage suited admirably. Owner - who lived in adjacent property - made us most welcome. cottage located in beautiful countryside.

Cosy cottage in a quiet village, great location for a restful break.

The cottage is set on the edge of the moors with plenty of walking and beautiful scenery. Tonia was a great host and made us very welcome.

This break was just fantastic.

The cottage was really cosy and so warm and had everything you could need and the owner even put Christmas decorations up and a small tree and presented us with a big bottle of Cava on arrival. The owner gave us advice on where to eat etc. We regularly bought fresh eggs from over the road which was a nice touch. It really is super peaceful there and I returned back home so relaxed. Would definitely recommend.

Pegs cottagei is a little gem set in the most beautiful countryside.

The cottage itself is very compact ,the bedroom is quite small,but adequate ,and there is a very nice,well appointed kitchen.One of the main attractions is the the lovely garden,and particularly for us ,the enclosed area where our dogs could run about in safety.We would definitely return for another holiday.
