Slept really well and enjoyed the peace and quiet. Really appreciated that our dog was able to roam around the whole garden when the gates were closed and meet the owner's dogs. The gas log burner was really effective and quickly warmed up the whole place. Well equipped with crockery, cutlery but needed a new tin opener which we pointed out to the owner. We enjoyed some long walks with our dog along the country lanes. Our two dogs loved having run of big garden, Tonia's dogs, Hettie & Bundle were forgiving when Bella stole their toys & Hari kept barking at them!. Two downsides, absolutely no internet access which I could have done with for local / general information, & poor mobile phone reception. Also cost of car parking in Helmsley which I know isn't Tonia's doing, charges apply even with a blue badge, that's down to Rydale council, but yes we would stay at Peg's cottage again , wish we could've brought it home with us!.
