Lovely accommodation.

Location great for getting about the area where there are some great dog friendly beaches. Easy to find and friendly hosts. Site was quiet even with several caravans in the camping field.

The Barn is a delightful cottage situated in beautiful countryside, Carol and Rob could not be more welcoming and the facilities were perfect, even for the dogs, so much space for them to walk in, we thoroughly enjoy the stay, which was not long enough, but we will be back next year Jo and Bob

What a great property.

If you’re looking for peace and quiet with the option of a short drive to lots of things to see and do in the surrounding area this is perfect. Great for dogs with secure garden giving option of shade from the trees in the hot weather we had.

High quality and comfortable clean accommodation.

Extremely well kitted out with useful things perfect for being able to enjoy a short break; kitchen utensils and handy hooks for clothes, spare towels and tea towels. Well set up for dog. We had a couple of technical issues which were dealt with swiftly and the owners were very friendly.

Very nice place to call base camp to visit the east coast, very warm even on coldest days, has everything you could need for your break very comfortable settees and beds.

Great rural , tranquil location, but in easy driving reach of places to visit.

Warm welcome from hosts. Clean , comfortable with everything you need including a welcome tray of coffee, tea and milk . Toilet/shower, 2 bedrooms ground floor , with open plan kitchen/ lounge upstairs with great views.Secure garden and patio area for our dog , with plenty of space for little walks too within the rest of the grounds. Wifi, freeview , some cds/dvd s and books for use , designated car space. Recycling facilities. All in all , a little piece of heaven to chill and do nothing if you want to, or get out and visit the lovely countryside or trip to secluded beaches or tourist spots.

Excellent place couldnt fault it very secure gardens for dogs.

Once again we had a fantastic stay at The Barn.

The owners are so accommodating and The Barn is ideal for our three dogs with the enclosed gardens. The facilities at The Barn are excellent and its location is great for getting to the coast and enjoying long walks along the beach. We definitely will be booking another stay in the very near future.

A Beautiful property in a stunning location ,so peaceful and quiet.

Rob and Carol are lovely friendly hosts they provided a generous welcome pack including eggs and milk, the Barn is proberbly the best equipped property we have stayed in . The location is close enough to a number of seaside towns and quieter beaches suitable for walking your pups, as well as the beautiful east Yorkshire countryside. Would deffinatly go back

Fully equipped kitchen . Very quirky with bedrooms downstairs. Spacious, airy and light. Very cosy and great views. Loved the quietness and our two dogs really enjoyed the enclosed gardens. Plenty of good sniffs! 1st class accommodation. Would definitely come back

It was our first time staying at The Barn.

It’s a wonderful location, so peaceful. The barn itself is very comfortable, clean and welcoming. Carol and Rob are equally welcoming. The space really worked for us (2 adults, 2 teens and 1 German Shepherd), as both a base to go and explore from, but also to just chill out in. The living area being upstairs means you get the most of the light on shorter days, and as for the sunsets - WOW! Oh and on clear nights, the stars were amazing! Highly recommend and we will definitely look at staying again.

A really cosy and warm barn.

Lovely hosts and a great welcome pack of eggs,milk and biscuits. Everywhere was spotless and so comfortable. Managed to dodge rain and was so nice to come back and relax in the warm.

The property is lovely.

As described. Very clean and spacious with excellent facilities. As this was for three friends with a small dog each, it was perfect as the owners accept three dogs at a small cost whereas many other properties only allow one or two. The fully enclosed garden was ideal. No small gaps for our dogs to escape from. Plenty of kitchen facilities and gadgets. A vehicle is needed as it is very remote so need to drive even to reach a shop or pub. But it is an excellent, peaceful base for visiting places along the East Yorkshire coast and lots of nearby interesting villages. Sadly for me my holiday was cut short due to a fall and ending up in Scarborough Hospital with a broken hip! But as our plans to see Whitby Robin Hood’s Bay and Goathland did not happen, if I did return to this part of the country, I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again.

Everything was perfect and I actually booked to return next year before we stayed because of the good reviews.

We had a lovely stay at the barn as a family of four plus our pet dog.

The enclosed garden was such a bonus for the children to play safely and for our dog to be outside freely. The washing machine also helped on many occasions to clean clothes after beach days! Beds were comfy and rooms spacious with plenty of room to store your belongings. The barn had everything we needed for an enjoyable stay and the little welcome basket of milk, eggs and biscuits was a lovely addition. The location meant we could have day visits to Bridlington and Filey that were only a short distance in the car. The views and location of the barn meant for a peaceful stay. We’d definitely recommend and come back :)

We highly recommend the holiday property "The Barn" through Sykes Holiday Cottages.

This holiday property was a delightful surprise after staying at a couple of other holiday properties. Upon our arrival, we were very pleased to find fresh eggs on the counter and milk in the fridge. The accommodations were superb. The owners were very pleasant and willing to help with any inquiries. There were many complimentary comments in the guest book and well deserved. Our compliments to "The Barn".

The Barn is an excellent property which we have used a number of times before.

The owners are friendly and helpful. The property is excellent for a relaxing holiday break and the facilities are very good. The location is also ideal for exploring by car East and North East Yorkshire.

Wonderful to find such a peaceful dog-friendly stay.

We had 3 small dogs with us. The hosts were lovely, friendly but we had privacy. The kitchen was particularly well equipped for an airbnb which we really enjoyed and the layout works very well. Grateful for a dishwasher and washing machine. It wasn't super deluxe but that's perfect when holidaying with dogs and coming back from beach walks. It was pleasant, comfortable and easy to clean. We will likely stay there again. In addition to the garden furniture, I'd love a lounger for outdoor dozing but that's the only improvement I can think of and it was quite rainy that week anyway.

Well maintained and situated in a lovely quiet area. Equip with everything you need for your stay. Love the design and feel of the barn and felt very homely. We loved our stay and so did our dogs. The enclosed garden area was just great. I couldn’t recommend the place more highly and hosts very welcoming.

The hosts were great. Beach 10 min drive away. Welcome hamper was really lovely. Clean, modern, comfortable. The dogs had a lovely holiday. The garden was large, secure for our 3 boys. It was great to have a normal sized TV! There was even a drawer with more tea towels in, which I'd never seen before, brilliant.

Lovely cottage on very well kept property.

Close to great beaches for walking. Had slight problem with shower overflowing due to blocked waste pipe (probably due to wet wipes), but soon fixed by Rob. Great to have safe enclosed garden for dogs. Internet not great, but what you would expect in rural area. Carol and Rob very approachable and helpful.

The accommodation was perfect for access to Filey, and so welcoming The garden was larger than anticipated and much better than I had anticipated The only slight issue was the shower tray emptied very slowly and flooded over the edge if taking a slightly look get shower when washing hair for example The beds were so comfortable and we wanted for nothing The cottage is superbly stocked and perfect for a family who want a relaxed holiday with their dogs

We enjoyed our stay at the Barn so much we have already booked a return visit in 2024.

The accommodation is bright and airy, beautifully furnished and has everything you need to make your stay perfect. The enclosed private (escape proof) garden was an added bonus and provided a good space for our dogs to play and run around in. Thank you Rob and Carol for a lovely holiday.

Chatting with the on-site owners, you can feel the rightly deserved pride in their cottage. Everything provided for your self catering requirements. Ideal location for all the East Yorkshire coast seaside resorts, Your dogs are well catered for, enclosed garden, perfect for last thing at night doggy toilet needs, outside lighting allowing clean up. A lovely cosy cottage that is really well equipped!

We’d have liked a taller fence for our dogs, but this did not spoil the charm of the cottage for us. A perfect base for exploring.

The Barn is an amazing place to stay - we are not used to this level of comfort and luxury, having 3 collies in tow!

The secure garden and beautiful local beaches and walks made it a really special holiday destination for the dogs as well as the humans. The owners have thought of absolutely everything so the Barn is extremely well provisioned, they were friendly and kind to us during our stay, and we have already booked to return next year!

The cottage was absolutely first class, one of the best we have stayed at.

It was spotlessly clean, very well equipped, and very comfortable. It lacked nothing, the owners had thought of everything. The location was superb; close enough to all of the places of interest, yet very quiet and peaceful. The owners were very friendly, most helpful, and went out of their way to ensure that every box was ticked. We will certainly want to stay again.

We arrived the day after storm Eunice, in the snow.

Had brought warm indoor clothing but not needed as cottage really toasty. Well equipped kitchen, TV with freeview box, and extremely comfortable bed. The garden is fully enclosed for the dogs. Ideally placed for Bridlington, Flamborough Head and Bempton Cliffs. Filey beach was lovely for the dogs. All in all a lovely week away in this cosy barn.

We (2 adults, 2 kids, 3 dogs) had a great week despite some wet weather.

The Barn is in a great location for many lovely coastal towns and beaches, and although we went somewhere different every day, there was still lots we could have done so will hopefully be back. The Barn was very warm, extremely comfortable, and great for our three dogs with a safe, enclosed garden area. It had everything we could have needed, well stocked kitchen (pans, utensils, etc) comfy beds, etc. Noted that someone had negatively commented in the visitors book about caravans on site, but the whole property is beautifully kept and looked after, and is a credit to the owners, Rob & Carol, who are very friendly and welcoming. We will hopefully return in the future.

The barn is a real home from home everything thing is there that you need plus more besides we were there over christmas and it had been decorated up ready for us also tea milk eggs biscuits sweets and more what a lovely welcome

The Barn was exceptional, it is so close to Bridlington, Filey, Scarborough etc that it makes it an ideal base to stay at. Hope to return next year. Even though the weather was poor we still enjoyed the stay x

Our second visit but not the last.

The owners were On hand and very helpful. The accommodation was lovely and warm, very clean and comfortable. Very well equipped.

We had a lovely stay, but I was very disappointed that we only received a little milk and a packet of cookies as a welcome package.

We paid £320.00 for a 2 night stay. It was a little pricey but expected a little treat, a bottle of Prosecco maybe. All other places we've stayed have always supplied a little gesture. Slightly disappointed unfortunately

This cottage is a credit to the owners, it has everything you would need and more.

Very comfortable and very safe for your dogs, just wish i could rate it higher.

The barn was laid out very well for a holiday with dogs, having an enclosed garden and large parking space.

It was well equiped and Rob the owner was welcoming and on hand had there been any problems, which there wasn't. The location is quiet but within easy distance to an array of good areas to visit.

Very clean. Everything thing you need is in this property including a dishwasher lovely owners Rob and carol nothing to much for these people. Pet friendly as dog cage available in property aswell save u taking your own. Located near Bridlington and filey which is about 15min drive . Scarborough is about 35 min drive. Whitby was about a hour drive. Nice grass patch for your dog to wander around. Gated off and secure. Towels and bed linen provided aswell. So if u like a nice relaxing holiday with your dog the barn is a great place.

Booked this short break very last minute for the two of us and our three dogs.

The accommodation surpassed our expectations and the hosts had catered for our every need. Everyone had a great time ( including the dogs) with lots to do within a short drive. The hosts were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble.

It was just perfect, we cant wait to go again. Garden is ideal for dogs, spacious living area and oh those views! Owners friendly and loved every minute of it. Brilliant place and not far from sea. Lots of walks in the area too. Everything , including small campsite was spotless and very clean , just brilliant.

Perfectly set out with the open plan kitchen, dining area and lounge being upstairs. Everything and more than we needed was provided. Owners are friendly and very helpful. Ideally located for beach walks with the dogs. Also a secure garden area for the dogs made for a really relaxing and enjoyable holiday.

Small to medium sized dogs can be left to roam as they are fenced in, larger dogs may clear the fence if they are that way inclined. Shops are 5 miles away, but that that village has pubs, chip shop, pizza, chemist, hardware and a small co-op. If you want a relative quiet holiday this is the pace for you.

Beautiful decorated barn.

Felt like the owners had really thought about what people need on a holiday. Had everything one would want. Couple who owned it were very friendly and there if required. Only minor comment would be to use DVD you had to change cables from Freesat to DVD.

The Barn was very clean and well appointed with everything you could need for a relaxing holiday near the East coast. Lots to discover, however you like to spend your time.

The Barn is fabulous accommodation absolutely loved it and so did my 3 doggies having their own secure private garden to run around in.

Accommodation was spotlessly clean and equipped with anything you could think of needing during your stay. The layout was lovely being upside down barn so we could make the most of the views. The only complaint we had which was very minor was the kettle was too small and took forever to boil but that hasn’t put us off from returning. The owners are lovely really looked after their land and properties they were really helpful and inviting. We will be returning in fact just looking at re booking for a cheeky week away in February next just to chill out ideal as the beach only 10 mins away in car so the dogs love it as do we. Thank you for having us at your beautiful property.

Fantastic accommodation with every luxury all of a high quality.

Extremely comfortable and superb location which is far enough away for the peace and quiet seekers but mins away from shops, pubs and cafes. Extremely friendly and helpful owners who are very welcoming. Unfortunately we had to leave early due to illness but we loved every minute of our trip and will definitely be back soon.

We ha a lovely time at the barn, loved the fact you lived upstairs and slept downstairs, nice and quiet, just what we wanted.

My 3 dogs loved it too with the little enclosed run menu they could go in and out as they chose. Close enough to Bridlington or Filey to give the dogs a good run, went down as far as Hornsea and the dogs loved it / all in all a great relaxing time was had by all.

Very well equipped barn conversion in a great location (York, Bridlington, Scarborough, Beverley all within 1 hours drive).

Would definitely recommend to everyone looking for a dog-friendly property as a base to discover the area.

The barn is the perfect holiday home.

It really made our family holiday special. It was warm, cosy and a felt like a home from home. The barn had everything we needed. It was spotlessly clean and decorated to a high standard. My children loved the games and puzzles! The Barn had plenty of tourist information so we were able to plan our days out easily. Our favourites being Filey Bay, North York Moors Railway to Whitby, Bempton Cliffs and a day in York visiting the museums and York Minster. Just be aware that there are a lot of caravans on site. When we arrived they were stored behind the property but as we were leaving they had been moved to the fields in front. Fortunately, we were aware of the caravans and they didn’t affect our stay in anyway.

The Barn ticked all the boxes and both adults and Westie well provided for.

Helpful owners who were friendly.Minor dislikes down to taste and not detrimental to provision. Liked it enough to be planning further visits.

It is an excellent property with every facility you will ever need while on holiday. It is also located within easy driving distance to places like Bridlington, Filey, Scarborough and Whitby, although still in a quite and peaceful country situation. The property is a former barn which has been converted to the highest standards. The owners are also extremely friendly and helpful.

Beautiful accommodation, beautifully furnished. in beautiful countryside yet only a few minutes from everywhere. a wonderful welcome with lovely extra touches - chocholate biscuits and doggy treats. We loved staying. We will be back next year.

Really enjoyed the holiday.

It was booked at short notice (less than a week before departure) and everything went swimmingly. Other companies (who shall remain nameless) could do with copying your example of customer service.

The Barn was excellent in every way.

Very clean with great facilities. They had thought of everything and also provided a small store of condiments and other things to complement food you had taken with you. I cannot think of one thing that I needed that wasn't already provided. The bed and sofas were very comfortable and the whole ambience of The Barn was cosy and homely. The owners were very friendly and let you know you could easily approach them if you needed them but were never intrusive despite being right next door. Location was quite out of the way which we liked because it was quiet but also in easy driving distance of coastal areas and other local attractions. There is a campsite and caravan storage close to the barn but these didn't intrude on the privacy at all. All in all we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Excellent accommodation, First Class hospitality from Carol and Rob.

There was nothing wanting in the Barn cottage. Home from home! Treats for adults and treats for our dogs! Location ideal for visiting lots of interesting places. The Wolds and surrounding area had some lovely Pubs. Highly recommend The Fox & Hounds at Kilham for Sunday Roast, and between Mon-Wed, 5pm-8pm is the Early Bird menu. Trisha's Steak & Ale Pie delicious. The Bull Inn, Gristhorpe, makes a cracking Fish, Chips & Mushy Peas. 2 for 1 between 12-3pm. The food is piping hot and the plates are hot too! All food homemade not frozen! Just up the road is Cayton Beach lovely! For dog walking you will find Hunmanby Gap is the best place to visit. Parking fees apply, so have change handy. I would definitely recommend the Barn to everyone, if you're looking for a relaxing, or walking holiday, this is the place to stay! 5***** Thank you again Carol and Rob, you are the best hosts we have had the pleasure to meet, thanks for sharing your lovely Barn cottage with us!

This was our second experience of The Barn and again we found it to be an excellent facility for a relaxing holiday.

It is located in the country but is still close to the sea and the town of Bridlington so there are multiple choices. The owners are also very helpful.

An absolute gem.

Everything we needed was provided, even fresh farm eggs! We did a lot of catering at the barn because everything we needed was provided. The wood burning stove was brilliant. The facilities were top notch and the barn has been decorated and furnished to a high standard. The owners were very nice and happy to help. Even though it was on a working farm the noise was minimal. Would definitely book again.
