  • "Absolutely gorgeous this lodge was Beautiful we would definitely go there again ,they all looked stunning & set in a beautiful area."

The pub close by served amazing meals & dog friendly just like the lodges. Amazing beach close by .. also dog friendly.. a fabulous holiday especially for those who like to take there dogs with them .. the only thing I would add would be a topper for the double mattress as it felt a bit bumpy but I would still recommend these lodges & would definitely be back again they truly are beautiful

  • "Everything was exactly as described, me and my wife went for a 5 day break with our dog."

The lodge itself and surrounding area was immaculate and has obviously been well looked after and maintained. The location is beautiful with the lodge situated in a little culdesac with a few other lodges, it all felt very private. The internet was also very good and plenty fast enough to stream to the provided smart TV for those rainy nights. There is a dog friendly beach, and pub within a 5-10 min walk and everything else is easily reachable driving or catching the regular busses. There is a stop right next to the lodge park, we used the dog friendly bus to visit Whitby, they run every 30 mins and it's a 20 ride. Thoroughly recommend.

Thank you for your wonderful feedback! We're delighted to hear that you and your wife enjoyed your stay and found the lodge and surrounding area to be immaculate and well-maintained. It’s great to know that the location provided you with a sense of privacy and that the amenities, including the internet and smart TV, met your needs. We’re also pleased you found the local dog-friendly beach and pub convenient, as well as the transport options for exploring Whitby. Thank you for the recommendation, and we hope to welcome you and your dog back in the future! Paddock lodges team Property Owner

  • "Nice location, pub onsite which was handy."

Clean and kitchen fully equipped with most utensils. Would take my own towels next time, they were provided but my preference would be the larger bath sheets rather than small towels for after shower. The bed was too short, we’re not tall people so anyone over 5’9 would struggle with feet hanging off the end and mattress far too soft, pillows were good though. Hot tub was lovely. No fault of anyone and possibly weather related but the surrounding grass area was so swampy and muddy, retaining water. So taking my dog out to the toilet was a messy business each time. Overall, pleasant stay.

Hi Thank you for your feedback. We're glad to hear that you enjoyed our location and found the kitchen well-equipped. It’s always great to have a pub on site, isn't it? We appreciate your comment about the towels; we aim to provide a range of sizes. Regarding the bed, I'm sorry to hear it felt too short—we use king-size beds in our accommodation, but we'll take a closer look to ensure they're suitable for taller guests. It’s good to know the pillows worked for you, and that the hot tub added to your enjoyment. As for the surrounding grass, we understand the frustration with conditions. We had a lot of rainfall during your stay and It's been the wettest 18 months on record, which has made maintenance challenging. We appreciate your patience and understanding. Thanks again for your comments, and we're glad you had a pleasant stay despite the weather. If there's anything we can do to make your next visit more comfortable, please let us know. The kitchen was well equipped, even down to the small details like tea towels and dishwasher tablets. Really comfy beds, linen included. Hot tub lovely. Location was great perfectly positioned between N.Yorks and Redcar and Cleveland. Site really peaceful as only a handful of lodges together. Would highly recommend and would stay again.

  • "My husband and I and our two young children stayed here for 5 nights."

The lodge was beautiful and very well equipped. It was spotlessly clean and had little extras like biscuits, crisps and Prosecco on arrival. The hot tub was so lovely to relax in - we all loved the hot tub. The lodge is set back behind the Bay hotel, it is a very private setting. I cannot fault the accommodation or the location, even the Wi-Fi was great. Would we stay again? Absolutely! We cannot wait for our next visit.

  • "Good Evening, After spending Friday till Sunday at Foxglove lodge, it was perfect and went down a treat."

Everything was spotless, arrived to perfect weather so sat on the decking with our complimentary Prosecco! All neighbours were friendly had a walk to the pub which was lovely lots of seating area outside. Then on Saturday we got the bus opposite the pub into Whitby for £2.00 pp which was dog friendly, spent the day having a chilled walk around, and pub hopping as the weather wasn’t the best then came back to a dip in the hot tub! Overall perfect weekend, will definitely be back and wish we had booked for longer than just the weekend. Next time will definitely be a mon-fri or even a week trip! Thank you Foxglove Lodge! About the location

STAITHES

Whitby 10 miles.

The charming and sleepy seaside village of Staithes, with its cobbled streets and back alleys, is something of an artist’s dream. Its pretty houses and cottages are clustered around the old harbour and surrounded by high craggy cliffs on three sides, with a sheltered sandy beach set amongst the rocky coastline. The village can claim connections with Captain Cook who was apprenticed to a draper near the harbour. Nowadays, Staithes is a must for anyone visiting the Yorkshire Coast and has a good selection of pubs, shops and tea rooms. Staithes is still home to an RNLI lifeboat station and a small fleet of cobles (fishing boats) landing fish, crab and lobster, with boat trips for birdwatching, fishing and even whale watching available. It’s also the location of the popular BBC children’s TV series, Old Jack’s Boat. Staithes has a strong attraction for artists, with an annual Art and Heritage Festival, galleries and artists studios with art courses and workshops regularly on offer. There’s a free Illusion Trail, which guides visitors around the network of ginnels (alleyways), with trail guides available locally. The best views of the town can be enjoyed from the Cleveland Way which runs down the cliff to the sea’s edge. Altogether a superb base for exploring the Yorkshire Coast, visiting the larger resorts of Whitby or Scarborough and enjoying the moorland villages of the North York Moors National Park.
