  • "Most of the accommodation has been refurbished to a very high standard."

Cutlery, plates, kettle and toaster were new but some of the white goods and the downstairs shower had not been updated but were acceptable. The location was excellent. Runswick Bay is stunning; a beautiful beach and a chance to go fossil hunting at low tide. The Runswick Bay Hotel is close by and provides excellent food. There is a half hourly bus service almost outside the door, and we could easily get to Whitby in One Direction and Saltburn in the other thus, avoiding the parking problems there might be in nearby busy resorts. The bus was free for us as we are pensioners.

Hi Sidney. Many thanks for your feedback. As a new property on the holiday let market, we really appreciate it. If there are any further points you could make on anything that didn’t quite work/ways to improve then that would be great to know! In terms of cleanliness, can I ask what let it down slightly? We use a professional cleaning company so it would be useful to feedback to them where they could improve. The cooker has now been replaced and we have plans to replace the upstairs bathroom. We appreciate that a downstairs shower isn’t ideal so we’re adding a second one upstairs. Many thanks, Tom Property Owner

  • "We loved our stay in the cottage and area."

Lovely touches to the decor with good garden space, great for rabbit watching. Downstairs shower a bit of a squeeze but did the job and very clean. We were told whilst travelling that the cooker had broke down and so Tom provided a 2 ring electric plug in hob and made an extra journey to drop off an air fryer too which was all appreciated. We did spend more on eating out but it didn't impact our stay, so thanks. Good buses locally and the coastal walk to Staithes is a must to eat in the Cod and Lobster

RUNSWICK BAY

Staithes 2 miles; Whitby 9 miles; Saltburn-by-the-Sea 10 miles.

The historic fishing village of Runswick Bay is without doubt one of the true gems of the Yorkshire Coast, if not the whole of the UK. This picturesque SE-facing village situated 9 miles from Whitby sits in a beautiful sheltered sandy-beached bay backed by spectacular cliffs and moorland scenery. Relatively un-commercialised and with vehicular traffic restricted, the village provides the perfect setting in which to relax and unwind. Relish in taking long walks on either the sandy beach or along the Cleveland Way on the clifftop above. There is much to do in the local area, whether it's visiting Whitby with its famous Abbey, Staithes with its pretty shops, cafes and superb art gallery, or touring the dramatic North York Moors. The lower village houses a local inn serving food along with a spectacularly situated cafe, whilst nearby Hinderwell provides 2 inns, a fish and chip shop, a local butchers and a garage/petrol station. A Co-op is situated at Staithes 2 miles away.

Note: Driveway to the property has a ramp leading onto the gravel to park and low cars should be cautious of this.
