Off road parking would have helped if only to avoid road re surfacing issues, occupant from big house behind viewed using the lodge wheelie bin but not an issue for us, that said it was a great holiday in a smashing area, location perfect for Whitby

  • "The Lodge is a beautiful and very comfortable house which made a perfect base for exploring both the coast and the North Yorkshire Moors."

It was spotlessly clean, well equipped, and welcoming. An ideal home away from home!

  • "We absolutely loved the cottage and have fell in love with such a beautiful part of the country."

When we arrived there had been a misunderstanding with the booking so the cottage wasn’t ready. After a call to Sykes the team we’re around within 40 mins to rectify it and the owner couldn’t of been more apologetic. That aside we had a fantastic holiday and we will definitely be returning when we have the opportunity.

  • "Lovely property, in a great location."

We will return. Only comments would be mattresses weren't very comfy and we bought and left some champagne flutes for the next guests as there was on 1 available on our arrival. Overall everything else was great.

  • "A quaint cottage in a good location."

However the central heating would not work and no wood provided for the log burner. Fortunately we were able to buy some wood . The oven grill had not been cleaned after it’s last use. The towels particularly for one of us were inadequate. No bath towel. I am sure these things can be addressed but I felt they needed mentioning. Re the central heating there were no instructions which would have been helpful.

So sorry to read you had a few problems with your stay. Sykes customer services would have been glad to help with the heating problem it's a shame you didn't call them. We hope If you return you'll find everything to your satisfaction. Property Owner

  • "Just great and everything we needed with some lovely touches."

We somehow managed to leave our house keys at the property (!??) And this was dealt with very well and we were very grateful to get them back, so thanks. The owner even rang me to confirm the keys were on the way to us. Couldn't ask for more.

  • "A very well equipped cottage in a perfect location."

Sykes were amazing as a laptop was left behind after we had left the property and Rachael from the cleaning team ensured we were able to go back to collect it. Will be staying here again.

Excellent , it had everything we required for a enjoyable stay . Just please sort the bathroom window, although it had a window film, it is low and overlooks the neighbour's! we didn't trust it, so had the blackout blind down permanently. Minutes from large Sainsbury, s Aldi and B&M Minutes from Stunning Whitby, and 10 mins from Goathland and the beautiful Moors Loved it!!
