The property we rented was exactly as described. Nothing disturbed our stay. We will be happy and trusting to use Sykes Cottages again. Thank you.

  • "The chalet was clean and basic inside but the outside was very dirty and had not been cleaned in a long time, the patio needed a good power wash as it was full of bird poo as was the chairs and table."

we cleaned 2 chairs to sit outside.

Thank you for your review, our management company wipe down exterior chairs/tables etc every week without fail but understandably as we are in the woodland area we are there is a lot of wildlife incl peacocks who wander around the park every day - apologies for any mess they left. We hope you enjoyed seeing them strut around, did you see the baby peacocks that are about now ? Property Owner

Toilet lose. Grout missing from bathroom floor. Cups dirty. Cutlery filthy, all needed a wash. Back of cutlery drawer littered with rubbish (left as found). Sweet wrappers in bedside cabinet.

Thank you for letting us know re the shower leak and toilet problem we will report it to the maintenance team. We do check these items on turnaround but we realise these type of problems can occur at any time. The housekeeping team are always available on the telephone number in the welcome pack provided for any issues you have during your stay. Property Owner

  • "The lodge and it's setting couldn't be better but sofas need upgrading both very uncomfortable, also toilet needs fixing to floor properly, rocked about a bit LOL, also found it inconvenient that the freezer was situated in a part of the lodge where we had to keep going outside to fetch food."

But apart from these few niggles we had a good stay. Also the shower in wet room was brilliant. Would recommend this lodge and only two minutes by car to the seaside town of Saltburn.

Not good for people of our age. I did leave a note to say the light bulb in the cooker hood needed changing, it was very dark when cooking in that corner.

otherwise ok As we have been before we know that main Rushpool Hall facilities are NOT available to lodge occupants and you are told so in no uncertain manner Perhaps you should add a note to the description so that any new visitors are aware. booked for 2020 already so plusses outweigh negatives!

Still not a 10minute Walk into town as advertised but the wi fi is a lot better than last year Perfect base for exploring the surrounding area we visited Saltburn, Whitby, Sandsend and Goathland, plenty of dog friendly pubs , ample parking and the dog loved walking around the woods Stayed in the same lodge last year and will probably come back as it makes a nice early break

..It was lovely to see all the wildlife outside your door roaming free too.The only comment I would make is that it is longer than a ten minute walk to get to Saltburn beach even when venturing through the grounds itself. If it was a family with a pushchair wanting to walk, it would take around 30 minutes via the road.
