A very frosty reception at the hotel to pick up the cottage keys. Greeted with a surly "hotel bar out of bounds", "hotel restaurant out of bounds" and "parts of the grounds out of bounds". A very frosty reception at the hotel to pick up the cottage keys. Greeted with a surly "hotel bar out of bounds", "hotel restaurant out of bounds" and "parts of the grounds out of bounds". Now, I know we didn't book a hotel stay, but surely a "welcome" would have been nice followed by " oh, by the way, we have a function this weekend, so unfortunately......." The cottage was very cold on arrival - 2nd week in November and heating not on in preparation for our arrival. The state of some of the crockery and kitchen utensils was awful. I have a picture of the oven tray if you like - disgusting! Glass-ware and cutlery far from clean - not what I would have expected. The sofa in Snowdrop was most uncomfortable and should be replaced. Advertised broadband/wifi was very sketchy to say the least. Not usable most of the time and had to resort to data-roaming.
