  • "Very nice house, bed comfortable, kitchen equipment OK."

Instructions to the cinder path were a bit vague but I found it and it was very nice walk

Beds not made and dirty bedding left in bath. The lady that we phoned about it was brilliant and came around as soon as she could to rectify the situation, don’t know her name

  • "The house was very comfortable & in a good position."

However there was a lot of issues as follows, There was a smell in the kitchen near the fridge, but could not find out what is was, One of the towels on the bed was dirty & smelt. The sink wasn't holding water ( we ended up buying a washing up bowl). The oven needed a good deep clean, On stripping the bed we found there was a stain on the duvet cover. With regard to the list of items which should have been there, there wasn't any milk, cloths, shower gel or soap. Also there wasn't any cleaning materials apart from half a bottle of washing up liquid & two kitchen scourer's. It is a shame that the maintenance let the property down. The parking permit was greatly appreciated as it is a busy street.

Hi there, Thanks for the booking and feedback. We are disappointed to learn that there were some cleaner based shortfalls and have subsequently passed on the feedback directly to the cleaning contractor. A sink bowl was provided - this is the first we knew about it being missing. Thank you. The soaps and shower gels are all left on site for the cleaners to place out. We have taken this up with them again. Thank you. Property Owner

  • "First the positives ."

. the cottage extremely clean and tidy. The owners were kind enough to sort out another permit. Which helped immensely . Location was fantastic. Short walk to sainsbury's and falsgrave road. Unfortunately they where some negatives. .. the list of supplies that where supposed to be in the property no hand wash , no milk , no toilet cleaner 1 loo roll left. No shower gel/ shampoo. supplies that was there was very minimal Also oven had not been cleaned. Still grease on the baking tray. And it smoked when you switched it on . Then had to buy cleaner to try and clean it. Sink plug faulty.( Slow leak ). And No wash up bowl. And 1:tea towel left. Such a pity and everything else was really good.

Hi there Thank you for the booked stay and feedback. Cleaning supplies taken up with the cleaning contractor, we note this from a later review and we’re saddened to learn of its occurrence, as we have provided everything that they need to deploy on site. The oven was installed newly in November 2023 so again, we are frustrated that it was previously left untidy having only accepted a few guests before your stay. All useful feedback for us to take away. Kind regards Property Owner

  • "A very clean & well decorated little house."

There is a good range of kitchen equipment & tea & coffee & milk provided. The beds are comfortable. A few things need attention - both single bedframes are very loose; the kitchen taps & spout are loose, with a drip tray in the cabinet below. The Roku streaming service isn't as shown in the booklet & didn't work. The TV aerial needs moving to get a good picture. Both clocks need new batteries. There are only 3 kitchen chairs, with a broken one near the boiler. There needs to be some guidance on the heating system. Overall, a nice little holiday home but a few niggles need attention.

Hi there, we appreciate you staying with us and the feedback. We are due to carry out all remedial works in October 23, as the season quiets. The chairs we appreciate will have had guest wear and tear, we plan to replace. We will check out the Roku device and plan to replace the internal arial for an external. We will check out and replace any taps that need attention, albeit they’re not very old. Thank you again for the feedback, we would love to welcome you back in the future. Property Owner

  • "Lovely wee house and in a quiet area and has everything u need."

There is so much to do. There was no coffee or tea bags left. Also u need to get someone over to tightens the single bed frames as they are really loose. Never knew this till the Friday we left when I sat on one lol. There is an amazing takeaway just down the road from the house its called Hikos Kebab Land. Best kebab I've never tasted their is a menu in the house for it. Also there is no blue book under the stairs to leave a comment. Stairs are a bit steep and can't fit full foot on them so is a bit worrying. Place was clean and tidy and would defo recommend the place to family and friends. Lovely beach and loads to do aswell as there is boat trips out to the water but some only run at the weekend so always best to check the running days and times. Also the clocks don't work need new batteries in them. I would have added all this into the book if it was there but your cleaners must have done something with it Regards The mcgrath family

Hi there, Thanks for the stay and feedback. All remedial work will be addressed October 23. Thanks for the recommendation where to eat and leaving the menu for other guests. The stairs are character/period stairs of the time. Thanks again Property Owner

Please don’t let this put off though as property was like home from home, with everything you could need. Lovely quiet street in great location and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend and would stay there again.

Hi there, Thank you for staying with us. We are sorry that you experienced some minor issues during your stay, our maintenance team were quick to attend following your call. • "The negative review comments in August were a concern, but had all been rectified before our stay."

It is a lovely little house, very comfortable ( especially the beds), clean and well equiped. Location is ideal with a short walk into the town centre and an easy walk to the North Bay where a must is a visit to the beautiful Peasholm Park. There is a small shop around the corner and Aldi is an easy walk away. The parking permit worked, there was space outside and we never needed to use our car at all during our stay.

  • "Had a lovely holiday but accommodation was basic."

No tea, coffee, salt & pepper, bleach, cleaning products etc were provided. Kitchen chairs were falling apart. Neither clock was working. We couldn’t use the streaming provided and the normal TV was continuously glitching. Only one parking permit was provided and I had to call Sykes 3 times to obtain our second one, although the owner was very nice & apologised for the mistake.

Thanks for the booking. We are glad that you had an enjoyable time. All negatives have been reported to the associated cleaning team involved. We have listened to all feedback - We plan to conduct an overhaul on the property in October 2023, in order to improve guest experiences for the future. Property Owner

Thanks for the feedback. We have passed on comments to the cleaning team as this is unacceptable. They are instructed to leave Tea, coffee, sugar/sweeteners and milk as-well as bathroom shampoo/gel for each guest stay. We are genuinely very apologetic about this situation, this is not representative of our values or how we wished to welcome guests. Thanks for letting us know - we need to review this situation deeper with the associated cleaning team. Property Owner

  • "Property is situated in a nice and quiet street, with minimal noise."

House itself is compact but cosy, with all facilities listed available and a generally comfortable environment. However, property was let down by poor maintenance including a broken bannister on the very steep stairs, which is a health and safety hazard. Cleanliness was very poor, and bedsheet on one of the single beds was stained. Welcome pack was nonexistent - no hand soaps, only one bin bag, and minimal kitchen cleaning products (just a half-used bottle of fairy liquid). Cobwebs on the washing line made hanging clothes difficult and unpleasant. With the deposit required, we would expect better cleanliness standards to be maintained. Even still, the property represented a fair value for money, and the late checkout was thoroughly appreciated.

Thank you for your stay and feedback. We were deeply upset to hear that the banister was a problem during your stay. Now we are aware of this issue, we have liaised with our maintenance team for repair. Our welcome pack is a blue folder left on the small unit under the stairs, there’s also a QR code print there too, for those who have a smartphone or tablet. We also display leaflets and fun things for the guests to do for the season. Sufficient cleaning products are usually left out for each guest and our cleaning team are usually very thorough Your comments have been reported to the team for reflection. There is both an external washing line and a clothes horse which is always kept indoors. Could you please confirm which yielded cob webs, so we could instruct the cleaners to target? Thanks again for the stay and would love to welcome your return in future. Property Owner

Nice and clean cottage. It's a quiet neighborhood but not far from the beach. Only problem there was no hand wash anywhere in the cottage, not enough toilet paper and no kitchen towel or tissues. Other than that everything else was great.

Hi Alexandra, Apologies for the delay coming back to you, we were still learning the system to be able to reply! First, thanks for your booking.
