  • "I thoroughly recommend this beautiful property."

It is in a very pretty village which is in a handy location for York, Beverley Pocklington and the beautiful Yorkshire wolds as well as being not too far from the coast. There is so much to do in the area within easy reach. I had a lovely restful stay with my two dogs, The very pretty courtyard yard was just enough for them to potter about in and for me to sit and enjoy the sun. The Old Church is very well equipped spotless and comfortable with a lovely welcome pack. Many thanks

  • "Beautiful converted church."

Very clean and fantastic open plan space. Enclosed back garden perfect for dogs. Well equipped kitchen. Lovely welcome pack on arrival. Great location, although if you have a big car can be difficult to get in and out of the drive as cars are parked on the side of the road making access a bit tricky but doable. Ensuite shower seem to leak in the corner by the sink and the flooring is coming apart and the splash back plinth to the ensuite sink is loose so the tap catches it. Only minor issues and wouldn't stop us returning as so many positive aspects to the beautiful property.

  • "A beautifully converted church with everything we needed."

Sue and Ian were fantastic hosts, providing us with flexible sleeping arrangements and a lovely welcome basket ( including homemade jam!). The downstairs bedroom with en-suite was perfect for some members of our family, while our teenagers loved the mezzanine. The location suited us very well as we had easy access to York, Beverley, Hull and Leeds and a trip to local York air museum was enjoyed by all. We hope to visit again in the warmer months, to make full use of the patio garden. Many thanks to Sue and Ian.

! Had a fantastic week with my partner, in a good location, close to york (25-30 mins drive) and Scarborough (1 hour drive). Sue and Ian are perfect hosts, helping us whenever we needed them, and providing a lovely welcome hamper, which was so handy after a long drive there! Can't recommend this place highly enough! Look forward to stopping here again in the future. Thank you Sue and Ian!

  • "My partner, myself and our two beagles had a fantastic stay at The Old Church last week and found it to be very cosy, warm and comfortable."

The chapel has been renovated to a high standard and had everything we could have needed and more. There was a lovely welcome pack from the owners on our arrival which was a nice touch. We really enjoyed the open plan aspect of the property and the inclusion of some original features like the chapel floor. The location is great for getting to surrounding villages and York and Beverley and in the village itself within walking distance was a 24hr shop and other amenities such as an Indian restaurant, bakery and garden centre. We were very pleased to find it had a delightful yard full of colourful flowers which was fully enclosed and secure for our two dogs. The village itself was very quiet and peaceful and the owners were very accommodating as they live nearby and checked in with us to ensure we were happy with everything they also provided a fantastic recommendation for a nice restaurant (The Bay Horse in Market Weighton) where we enjoyed a delicious meal out. Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would be happy to come back again.

  • "Lovely cottage, very quiet , locals friendly, however , if you are looking for a walk to the local shop, or maybe have a takeaway , or even a stroll to the local pub, there isn’t any, apart from one Indian restaurant which wasn’t open."

The nearest place would be the service station for any necessities. Everything thing else you would need to drive or get a taxi.

Thank you for your review, it was surprising to note this was in complete contrast to your positive comments left in the guest book prior to departure. We just hope this was not connected to the missing towels issue we had after you had left. Property Owner
