  • "Wee Woody was ideal for me and my 2 little dogs."

Being recently widowed and now living in Northern Ireland, the trip was to visit family and friends around West and East Yorkshire. Wee Woody was in exactly the right location for my travels. Had a really lovely week there.

  • "Home from home, lovely cottage."

We've stayed there twice now and would go back again in the future. The bed was really comfy. The only criticism would be the shower noise. Nice garden area. Thanks again

  • "Very clean and comfortable cottage, suited us perfectly."

It was warm and cosy and the owner left us lots of goodies which were much appreciated. Only stayed for three nights so didn’t get to enjoy all the facilities available around Cottingham Park. Not really a criticism, as realise space is tight but another chair in living area or a more comfortable sofa would enhance Wee Woody

  • "We have stayed at the wee woody two times now and we are hoping to return again later In the year ."

It is a lovely place to stay , A good base for walking and the Half moon pub in the village is good , with excellent food . Beverley not far away and Cottingham about 30 minutes walk , a short drive to the Hull suspension bridge . The only thing I can say negative about wee woody is there is no freezer compartment for ice cubes for my Gin and Tonic .

The cottage was clean, comfortable and suitable for us both and the dog. We would highly recommend this property and cannot wait to return in the summer.

  • "Very comfortable and cosy despite the cold wet weather."

Bed very comfotable but needs spare blankets for really cold conditions. Quilt warm but needs the bigger size to prevent cold at the sides. Wood burning stove worked ok. Please check if there is a ventilator fitted which is a requirement for these stoves. Shower works ok but is incredibly noisy and does not give a good water flow. If there is a hot water tank you could use a standard shower and a separate pump. A sink drainer would make washing up easier. Lovely walks across the golf course.

  • "Pretty cottage in a nice location."

Very quiet ( but other properties empty the week we stayed). Nice welcome touches. It was a very chilly week but the cottage was very cosy, especially with the log burner going. Bedroom doesn't have underfloor heating, but an electric radiator provided plenty of warmth. Great location, easy access to Beverley, the coast and the countryside. Parking was next to cottage which was handy.

  • "This is a fabulous little cottage for two people and a dog."

It is small but has everything you might need, (apart from a decent sweeping brush for the floor). The weather was really cold but the cottage remained nice and warm, especially with the log burner. Top tip, don't build the log fire up as it gets too hot! Less is more otherwise you end up having to open the windows to let the heat out. Great place for dog walks starting from the public right of way at the side of the golf course. Cottingham is an easy walk and is a charming village. Great break and we will be back.

  • "Comfortable cottage in a very peaceful setting."

The private garden is a real bonus and much enjoyed. Set within a very picturesque golf club, and great being so close to the club house - we were able to take full advantage of their menu most days. Most of the excellent food was cooked from scratch on the premises by Jane who also served the drinks and food along with Dawn. They were very efficient and very friendly and helped make our stay even better. Overall a really lovely break and many thanks to the owner Mrs Varey for her understanding. It was a really lovely holiday.

Was very impressed with how dog friendly it actually was with a bed and basket full of treats, towels and toys. Only downside was there was no light for the garden so was a bit dark when letting the dog out before bed.

The only things we could have done with was maybe a P. I. R Security light on outside wall in enclosed garden area and with us staying 10 nights, although one wasn't in inventory, a washing machine - having said that would return in a heart beat, lovely and relaxing. • "Nearly perfect!"

Cottage was very clean with good facilities. The owner was extremely helpful at all times. Lovely little touches such as tea, coffee, milk and biscuits on arrival. Plus little treats left for our dog. It was in an ideal location for us for visiting family and friends. As it is on a golf course there was very little noise and extremely quite during the night so no disturbances. Only one problem was the bed, very clean but extremely soft and the bed frame was unstable. Suggest that if the bed was to be changed it could be up graded to a king size, we are not big people but found it to be a small double? Also a small ironing board and iron would have been useful. We will definitely stay again when visiting family and would highly recommend the cottage.

  • "The cottage was perfect for our holiday, with one small exception."

The bed; although the mattress appeared to be new, the frame / base was ancient and had no structure. Consequently it was like sleeping on a water bed - not a good nights sleep. We would go back if there was a more solid bed frame without any hesitation. Also, the owner was so helpful and we were really grateful to her when we need help over and above our reservation. We would recommend Wee Woody without a doubt.
