lovely area only let down by the british weather. Could really have used a mop when we returned with the dogs :) Highly recommended

Thanks so much for taking the time to review your stay we are glad that you had a good time despite the weather! There is a mop and bucket kept for guest use in the stable next door to the property as detailed in the information folder, but it can easily be missed. Best wishes Property Owner

  • "We absolutely loved our stay here."

The bed was a little uncomfortable for me but can't please everyone with that. The bathroom had a damp smell but we just left the light on and opened the door all the time which seemed to resolve the issue. Loads of things to do in the area, would have been nice to have been left brochures of leaflets on what to do in the area, we were given recommendations by others once there but didn't have the time to visit them all. Our dog loved the cottage and the walks in the area! Thank you again for having us

I think the property had some damp issues particularly the bathroom as this smelt damp, the rest of the property seemed fine

Hi Ian, I am sorry that you had an issue - no guests have mentioned this previously. Although as the bathroom is internal we have noticed that there is sometimes a problem when guests don't leave the door open to allow air through - this is a condensation issue rather than damp. As detailed in the property information available in the Old Tractor Shed we do ask guests to leave the bathroom door open when they go out to allow the space to air. Once again I am sorry you had an issue. Best wishes, Chrysta Property Owner

  • "The Old Tractor Shed is beautifully presented and comfortable."

The cottage was spotlessly clean when we arrived and had everything we needed for our stay and more. Chrysta is friendly and very welcoming and even gave us some good advice on places to go as we were there over Christmas so not everything was open. We would definitely recommend The Old Tractor Shed to anyone looking to visit the Skipsea area.

Furnished to a high standard throughout, the pretty bedroom leads off the sitting area and hosts a plush Kingsize bed with neat ample wardrobe space for your personal items.

Completing the interior is the contemporary shower room, a refreshing space to prepare for the day.

The Old Tractor Shed is ideally situated to explore the Yorkshire Wolds made famous by David Hockney who has lived in Bridlington.

The local village of Skipsea caters for everyday needs and has access to the coast and beach, whilst the traditional seaside town of Hornsea lies just five miles away.

Those budding historians can visit the wonders of Skipsea Castle, which was a Norman motte and bailey castle dating back to around 1086, showcasing a wealth of historical architecture.

Within a mile walk from the cottage will bring you to a gentle beach, which is ideal for those wanting a more calm atmosphere, while Scarborough, a bustling seaside town farther afield, promises to be a fun-filled day out.

Wildlife lovers and walkers have Flamborough Headland Heritage Coast within easy reach for idyllic coastal paths, sandy bays, and spotting the likes of puffins along RSPB Bempton Cliffs.

About the location

Hornsea 6 miles; Bridlington 9 miles; Driffield 11 miles; Beverley 15 miles.

The village of Skipsea is situated in the Yorkshire Wolds, in a typically rural setting surrounded by rich, agricultural land, yet Skipsea also sits within one mile of the beach and is close to the cliffs of the North Sea. The village has its own Post Office and general store, a hairdresser’s and a pub. Many of the houses in the village, both old and new, use cobbles from the sea shore in the building.
