What truly stood out was the attention to detail; everything we needed was conveniently at our fingertips. It was a truly unforgettable experience, leaving us longing to return to this hidden gem next year!

  • "Superb cottage, finished to a very high standard, spotlessly clean and furnished beautifully."

Excellent communication with the owner, thank you Claire! The Half Moon (literally opposite the cottage) was very good value for money, the staff and locals were very welcoming and the food was top quality. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Fishermans Lodge, definitely one of the best we have stayed in.

  • "We had an absolutely dreamy stay at Fisherman’s Lodge."

From the very warm welcome (with fabulous basket of goodies) to a smooth check out, everything was perfect. The house is wonderfully appointed, and the Aga was a complete bonus during a snowy Yorkshire holiday. Highly recommend the pub, which is just over the road. Beautiful food and the steak night is not to be missed. 20 mins from York, we used the Park and Ride once and we parked in town another time. There is a lovely circular loop walk around the village itself. There is a corner shop I’m the next village over. Bigger shops can be found in Pocklington.

Thank you for the fantastic review, cannot quite believe we even managed to provide snow!! Property Owner

  • "Fisherman's Lodge is a lovely, warm, comfortable and well-equipped holiday home."

Claire, the owner, is very helpful and friendly. The Half Moon Inn (also owned by Claire) is only 2 minutes walk away. It was surprisingly busy but well-staffed and the food was very tasty. The house is in a good location for getting to York. We enjoyed visiting the Yorkshire Air Museum (about 5 minutes drive away) and Burnby Hall Gardens and Museum in Pocklington (about 10 minutes drive away). We would definitely stay there again.
