Had another wonderful break in this lovely well equipped house, maybe a blind in the bathroom would make it feel more private, but otherwise everything was great.

Still love the view over the river and we found some great new walks to take our little dog on, who had a wonderful time. Thanks again Catherine for the advice regarding the tv. Hope to be back soon

Thorngate Wynd is a very comfortable and clean and warm house in a lovely location .

Sadly our weather didn’t allow us to sit outside and enjoy the river views and sounds from the garden but it was still beautiful to look out at . It is a short walk into the town centre and there are lovely walks from the front door along the river. We would have appreciated a few more bowls and cooking utensils as we cook a fair bit at home but that was a minor issue . I would recommend this property if you are visiting lovely Teesdale .

The property was very relaxing with a lovely garden which overlooked the River Tees.

Excellent welcome pack and the house had everything we needed for our long weekend. No problems parking on the street outside the property and it was a five minute walk to Barnard Castle and all the facilities it offers. We will definitely visit again.

We enjoyed many beautiful walks from the house. Clean and well appointment house. We couldn’t have wished for anything more.

The accommodation was excellent with everything that you needed.

Location was peaceful and we loved the views of the river running by the property. The welcome pack was very good and the host was very friendly and helpful. We would definitely recommend this property to friends and family and we will stay here again in the future.

Lovely house with amazing view, all eminities you need the wood burner made it very cosy at night, its perfectly situated for some beautifull walks.

The only thing missing for us was no tv in the bedroom

Beds, bedding, and towels are top quality. Seating is very good. The view of the River Tees, from the fabulous garden, is great and there are nice river walks from the door. Contact from the owner was appreciated.

Firstly, it was such a warm touch to walk in after a long drive and see a generous welcome pack. The house is well decorated and furnished. It's layout and provision of equipment is really well thought out. It's in a central location that's quiet, ideally positioned on the edge of a lively and great town, within easy walking distance. We benefitted too from the perfect outdoor space to sit and take in the peace while watching the river trundle by. We enjoyed lovely walks around Barnard Castle and beyond. But it was always good to return to a homely space. Thank you.

The views over the river are fabulous, a short walk into town with plenty of shops, pubs and restaurants. So many places to visit that we were spoiled for choice. Immaculately clean, beautiful view over the River Tees, a very thoughtful Welcome Pack, and very comfortable beds. Overall we had a wonderful relaxing time and will definitely return, can’t recommend it enough.

What a fabulous holiday cottage!

The views towards the river were amazing and we were lucky enough with the weather to use the garden with lots of comfortable seating. Really appreciated all the extras such as handwash, shower gel and toilet rolls. Lovely walks along the river in either direction. Would love to return to this cottage as it had everything we needed. Thank you to the owner who was easy to contact and replied quickly.

A first class property that feels like a home from home.

This is really a fabulous cottage for a relaxing holiday, in a really interesting area.

We were lucky to stay during quite heavy snow, which made it even more cosy and beautiful! It's in the town centre (easy walk to pubs and restaurants) but very quiet, with a beautiful outlook from the back of the property onto the river. You can spend all day watching wildlife (particularly the resident cormorant!). The cottage itself is very cosy and well equipped, everything is clean and modern, and the woodburner is a real plus in the colder weather. We'll be back! (& the closest pub The Blue Bell is a real gem...)

Amazing holiday home.

We’ve booked to come back in summer so we can take full advantage of the terrace and views. Clean, modern, comfortable with lots of little extra touches that make it special. Superb host. Helpful above and beyond what we could ever have expected.
