2 Crosslands

We had a lovely week and cottage was really clean and comfortable.

The welcome gifts were so generous! Only comment is the mattress on the double bed was not great and it would have been helpful to have had a few more plates and bowls! Also a side light in the small bedroom. Only minor things as overall it was a fantastic base for us, thank you.

Absolutely great place to stay and such a lovely couple that run it.

The house was well maintained and the parking was spot on. The welcome pack was a lovely touch and we had the added bonus of being there at bailing time - it was wonderful to watch all the farming activity going on. We used the bus at the end of the road most days as there were 6 of us and it was a really great way to get in and out of York. Would highly recommend going to the races if you get chance and a walk along the walls is a must. The pub in the village is only a short walk away from Crosslands and is well worth a visit or two!! There is so much to see and do the list is endless. Thanks for a great stay!

This was a really lovely place to stay when we came to York for a family get away.

The house is beautifully maintained and is perfectly situated 10minutes drive from Monks Cross Park and Ride, so getting in and out of York is a breeze. Would recommend this to anyone- couples or families- for holidays in York

The cottage was perfect, comfortable, clean and had everything you could need in the kitchen. Amazing views from all sides. We are already planning a re-visit

Excellent for a retreat although a short drive to York. The welcome pack was a very nice treat also. Would recommend this holiday rental to anyone family or a couple. Well maintained, clean and welcoming, warm and comfortable, well appointed. Great location. Ideal for exploring York and the surrounding areas. Five minute drive to park and ride. We would fully recommend this property. We hope to return next year !

Thank You for having us in Your wunderful property. It is a great property to stay in. Clean spacious and nearby all the heritage sites in the neighbourhood we wanted to visit in this beautiful part of Yorkshire. It was very comfortable en we missed nothing. We also enjoyed the deer and other wildlife in the surrounding fields. Thanks to Catherine who recommend the Green Man in Ropsley, for having diner or take away. If we come back to the aera of York for another visit we certainly book again.

Excellent house to stay!

Lovely property; my party didn't spend very much time there, but as a convenient, comfortable base , we couldn't behave asked for better.

One of the best, #2 Crosslands is a lovely spacious comfortable home from home with everything you need for a wonderful holiday.

Probably the cleanest holiday cottage we have stayed in, spotless and such a welcoming place from the moment we opened the door with a lovely welcome pack on your arrival. Our time passed so quickly, it was sad to leave at the end of the week. #2 Crosslands is located in such a lovely location, open fields all around and many places of interest nearby with easy access to York, by local bus or nearby Park & Ride as a good way to go exploring the walks and museums/attractions around the city. What is there not to like about staying here, thank you. Oh and let's not forget Bert, we had called him Claude but then discovered his real name, often watching from his grazing area next door, along with the rabbits, hares, deer and many other animals / birds we had visit us. Oh and the dawn chorus sunrise first thing is a joy if you like going for the early morning walk at this time of year.

This property has everything you could need to have a great stay. Comfortable clean and conveniently situated to allow easy travel to any surrounding visitor destinations . Set in a rural location that is so scenic and with unmatched views of the farmland it’s sat in . Homely and modern . Just off the main A64 it couldn’t be better . The welcome gifts and the visit from Catherine to check all was well was much appreciated. Good to know the owner's were nearby and on hand just in case. I will definitely stay here again and can highly recommend it.

A very warm and comfortable cottage with all home comforts.

Beautifully furnished with all the necessary amenities we needed. A quiet location surrounded by fields. Ideally situated with easy access to main roads for travel to York and the surrounding area.

We had an excellent stay in the property.

Yorkshire as always was lovely, the weather not so good,but it was nice to have such a comfortable,cosy home from home to return to.Catherine the owner was very friendly and after three hours on the motorway in Friday afternoon traffic the welcome gift was a lovely surprise.

It was a perfect stay.

The cottage was very comfortable, really clean, well laid out in terms of rooms and space for six people, and was extremely well provisioned. It was the perfect base of our day trips out. Despite feeling rural and being really quiet, the location is incredibly well connected to go into York (10-15 mins in the car, busses also available) and further afield. The host provided a lot of information on activities in and around York, which was really helpful for us, and the children enjoyed watching the sheep next door. I hope if we have another holiday in this area again, we would be able to stay here again.

This property was one of the best we’ve stayed in, everything we needed, as well as maintained to the highest standard!

Great location within a 15 minute bus ride to York, but only a 45 minute drive to the coast. Catherine was lovely, and very helpful… plus the goodies were very much appreciated after a long drive from home :)

We have loved every minuet easy to get to all the main places from there we would definitly stay again if we are in that area just wish we could have stayed abit longer

Everything you could possibly need as well as full instructions for kitchen appliances. Very handy for York Park and Ride. We are already looking at dates for next year for a return visit.

We were able to check in early and found some lovely treats waiting which was great. The property was clean, spacious and quiet. The location was good for visiting York - about 7 min drive to the park and ride which was easy.

A beautiful cottage, perfectly located for a great family holiday in a beautiful part of Yorkshire.

The house was immaculate, excellent size kitchen and bathroom. Main bedrooms were a great size. Clean and comfortable in a perfect location. The owners left a welcome pack which was appreciated and enjoyed, the ensured we were comfortable with everything we needed. Informative about the local area. We used the park and ride to York, travelled easily to the coast and to Harrogate for days out. A great house would certainly recommend and look forward to returning soon.

We had a fantastic pre Christmas stay at Crosslands.

The facilities seemed practically brand new and the property was the cleanest we have ever stayed in. Furthermore there were some really nice personal touches, with Christmas decorations up and some small gifts waiting for us which was a lovely surprise and one that the kids were delighted with. It was also really well located for our day trips into York. All in all a super stay.

A lovely house with all the comforts you need and more. Exemplary cleanliness with a nice garden sitting area surrounded by fields and very peaceful. Walking distance to the friendly pub The Fox. The location is ideal for visiting York, the coastal towns and the main attractions of North Yorkshire. The Coastliner bus takes you to York and the coast and stops at the end of the track. Perfect! We wouldn't stay anywhere else when visiting again. Thank you Catherine and Geoff.

Marvellous cottage set in open countryside yet convenient to York and the coastal towns of Whitby and Bridlington.

Also close to Castle Howard. Great hosts who ensure you are comfortable in this very cosy, well equipped, bright and very clean cottage. Would recommend without hesitation if you want all the comforts of home in a tastefully renovated cottage with sheep, rabbits, squirrels, horses, deer and wild birds in the nearby fields yet a few hundred yards from a lovely village. We wrapped this holiday around our son's wedding in York.

It was so convenient for York, but lovely as it was surrounded by countryside, with sheep and rabbits at the end of the garden. A very peaceful, cosy stay in lovely warm weather.

Stunning property with all mod cons ideally placed to discover surrounding areas and York.

Clean comfortable and cozy all facilities that you would need. I would say however if you had mobility issues the stairs would be a but challenging as they are a bit steep.

Our original holiday fell through (they had water cut off) and so we booked this the night before our stay (thanks so much for saving our holiday).

The house looks like is has been recently refurbed, new kitchen, carpets etc and was lovely, warm and comfy. Great to see it properly equipped as well - we have been to some places where there is a kitchen, but no sharp knives, or baking trays etc so yo can't actually cook, not here all good to go. The location was a little out of the village, so it would be tricky without your own transport. But with a car it was really easy to get into York and we had a great time exploring (and it's a v short drive to a retail park which was handy for getting food). All in all we had a great stay, highly recommended. (And thanks for the milk/goodies etc on arrival, a lovely touch...)

The Property was warm and welcoming on our arrival.

The entire Property was beautifully presented and very clean. The Kitchen is very well equipped for a Family of 6 Adults. Everyone loved the Bathroom. The Property is in a great location to access York City with the bus to York going from the end of Barr Lane. Although it is close to the busy A64, we never heard the noise of the traffic. Catherine and Geoff were very pleasant to talk with. We would love to return

A wonderful property in a splendid location, in a rural setting but in easy reach of York City.

The accommodation was immaculate, and appointed to a very high standard. The welcome pack and flowers were very much appreciated. Ample parking for two vehicles. The outlook was over open fields with bird life and deer. We would definitely stay again.

Christmas saved by this beautifully decorated, well equipped, clean and very comfortable, cottage.

With frozen pipes at home having flooded the house, and guests arriving for Christmas, we needed somewhere for 5 adults, with facilities to cook Christmas dinner and enjoy the holiday. That's a challenge, but this house had everything we needed and everyone agreed it was a great Christmas. Easy to get to York by bus too. Date of experience: 21 December 2022

Comfortable, warm with some nice touches. All the appliances and utensils new. Slightly out of the way if you are looking for night life and entertainment, but if you're looking for a quiet house surrounded by fields, this is for you.
