  • "Finch 59 is a lovely lodge with quality fixtures & fittings."

It is on a nice pitch over looking an attractive central grassed area. This lodge was previously on pitch 15 across the road next to the trees & is now on a raised pitch 59 - hopefully this resolves other guests confusion. There isn't a number on the lodge but can be easily found by following the numbers on adjacent lodges plus its grey not white. Finch 59 is on your right. Finch 15 is on the left. During our stay I reported a few maintenence issue that were not detrimental to our stay but if not reported the lodge will deteriate. 1. Washing machine comes on but does not fill with water assume door not activating machine due to being integrated. 2. Living room door, twin bedroom door & patio door need adjusting. 3. Key box difficult to close & catches your fingers. 4. Some gutters leaking. Flooding - Pitch 15 & surrounding lodges under water due to severe weather - so yes it does flood in this area. All issues reported to Sykes via telephone & Whatsapps. However this is not a complaint as the lodge is lovely & the park has many facilities. Would stay again in the future.

  • "Although the lodge is beautiful, it’s still confusing when the keys and documents inside refer to Finch 15 as its now Finch 57."

Also the toilet seats are still loose even though they have been complained about in previous comment. Also the bed in the main bedroom is not particularly comfortable, I think a new mattress is needed.

May need a new can opener as we couldn't work it unless there's a knack to it? and both toilet seats need tightening quite loose.

  • "We have stayed in this accommodation last year in the previous location near the trees and we were slightly disappointed when we arrived this year to discover that the accommodation had been relocated as we liked the trees."

However, we found that we loved the new location. The sunny weather was captured on the balcony and it was lovely to sit there and soak it up in the mornings before heading out to explore the area. We knew what to expect from the accommodation itself and it did not disappoint. Very clean on arrival and a real home from home. Very comfortable and spacious.

Thankyou so much for your honest review. The trees on the edge of the park have caused a few issues over the winter months, hence the new location. We’re glad you managed to capture the sunshine and had a good holiday. Best wishes Rachel & Phil Ferdinand. Property Owner

  • "The lodge was very comfortable and well equipped, although the patio furniture is now looking a little worn."

The main reason we booked this lodge over others is that the photos showed it to be in a nice, private and secluded spot next to a line of trees providing shade, only to find on arrival that it had been moved to a less-private and hilly spot. Not happy at all and Sykes have been extremely dismissive about this, saying that they sent me an email in April - 4 months prior to notify me of the move (it's now August). I did not receive any such email. Further to this, Sykes are still advertising the lodge as though it is in its former tree-lined location! They will no doubt come back and say the previous location easily became flooded, but in a hot August this was not an issue for us. Then there was a problem with the wifi connection to my laptop. The wifi itself worked well as we connected all 3 phones, and an ipad with no problem, but I needed the owner's permission to speak with the wifi company to set up my laptop, only for Sykes to reply that the owner had stated that no-one else had had this problem, basically saying 'Tough - get on with it!' Not what I was expecting to hear. As I could not connect in order to attend to some urgent work we had to come home a day early. Overall not happy and feeling let down.

  • "Finch 59 is a beautiful, very well equiped , super comfortable caravan with excellent facilities."

Everything you need for a fab holiday. It is a perfect base for exploring the East Coast, with great facilities on site too. It is situated in a quiet area of the site, which we loved. Lots of Information left by the owners, and a few essentials, eg wash up liquid and kitchen roll. The caravan was very clean, the only slight niggle id being really picky was the cooker hob hadn't been cleaned properly and there was black dog hair on the front corners of both settees. There was also a damaged cupboard door and one of the fridge shelves had been broken. We would have thought the cleaning company would have picked up on them, and left us a note, saying they were aware. We're sure the owners pay alot of money to have it cleaned. We phoned Sykes to report, and they contacted the owners who arranged to sort the next day. This was excellent service, and didn't cause us a problem. We would highly recommend staying at Finch 59.

Thankyou so much for your lovely honest review. We’re sorry you had a couple of problems but very glad you had a wonderful holiday and would love to welcome you back really soon. Best wishes Rachel & Phil Ferdinand. Property Owner

The site was much bigger than we expected but it was very quiet the only neighbours were the squirrels, magpies and rabbits. The van is on the perimeter of the park which as a setting was great but it meant a walk all the way through the park and across the road before the steep walk down to the beach, however worth the walk. Again a quiet beach with just the sand martins for company. The caravan was very clean and comfortable with all you need provided. Our dog had our first holiday there and if asked l am sure she would recommend it!!!

Our granddaughter loved the toys, books etc. The property is situated in a lovely quiet area of the park and was a 5 minutes walk from the entertainment. We went to the beach (with a 1 year old and pushchair) and this was as described. A few steep steps down to the beach but we managed.
