  • "Location is perfect."

Property is clearly being renovated over time and the essentials are in a good state but there are areas that need of improvement. Wi-fi was either not working (although it said I was connected) or so poor that it was insufficient. The electric tripped out leaving the house in total darkness on the last night and I could not find a 24 hour emergency contact number. I eventually managed to trip the power back in from the consumer unit.

  • "Location was great but cleanliness was dire."

On arrival we had to dust hoover and clean up rooms and crockery ourselves. Dust dog hairs(in clumps) and debris. The owner was contacted and cleaner came ‘back’ from another job having supposedly done their property first. She blamed a new cleaner but owner said she was the only one. She didn’t want to be there didn’t do much even though we were helping her by hoovering and dusting and she left without telling us whilst we were still cleaning. Having put kitchen utensils in the dishwasher for 3 hours. Rendering them useless to us. Luckily we had disposable ones. She also said certain things were ‘not her job’. Like microwave oven and toaster which we didn’t use as it was obviously not clean. We cleaned the microwave and fridge so we could use them There was also food from previous let. We were told it was a courtesy. We ended up leaving it as it was opened anyway. Overall the location was amazing the area great. But cleaning standards left a lot to be desired. Wouldn’t stay again sorry.

Thank you for your review. As you know we disagreed with a lot of what you said. We did try and resolve as many issues as possible, some we couldn't resolve, for example you took the trouble of going through the cleaning products and opening the 'Pink Stuff' and complained that it was dirty. You complained because there were 4 or 5 mini courtesy toiletries in the bathroom cabinet that meant you couldn't fit all of your toiletries in. You moved large items of furniture and found dust underneath. We have had no previous complaints about the cleanliness, in fact many guests have complimented the cleaner. The cleaner did come back to the property to try and resolve your issues but had to leave as a result of your rudeness towards her. Perhaps your position as a cleaner for a rival booking company meant you took the trouble to find things other guests hadn't found. Property Owner

  • "Excellent property with great views, the log burner is excellent and logs and firelighters were provided for the first couple of nights, exceptionally clean and everything you need is provided."

the beds were so comfy and the duvets very light but warm. We will definitely return, only 4 m from Scarborough and the beach at Cayton is fabulous.
