  • "Tip Top lodge very well cared for by owners who have made the lodge very homely and welcoming"

  • "Disaster from arriving."

Key safe wouldn't open, had to fetch maintenance to get us in. Main bed mattress was stained and grubby, toilet seat loose, 2 cupboard panels cracked, food left in fridge and freezer and main television had a life of its own eg not switching on, then when on not changing channels, reported this 2 or 3 times and maintenance came to sort it, but still the same. All these been reported before, nothing done. Also net curtains across patio doors ripped in places and roughly sown in others, there was also a pile of external cushions and parasol stacked in corner of lounge. The last 2 complaints not previously reported. It may seem I am nitpicking but we have been 3 times in last 2 years to this lodge and given glowing reviews but not this time. Left early and will not be returning.

I am sorry that you were not satisfied with your 3rd stay as since your first visit we have had new carpets , new curtains , blinds and we have also had a new fully fitted kitchen , sink taps new dishwasher - just some examples of how we strive to make peoples stay very enjoyable - as for the key safe - unfortunately you hadn’t lined the numbers it up correctly so it would not open - we have now ordered new net curtains due to the damage done by some one previously and also ordered a new mattress as it’s the first time I am been aware of stains on it - you reported a issue with the tv and we sorted it straight away , I even said if it’s not working after the issue I will purchase a new tv , we have Netflix , Amazon plus loads of apps - unfortunately again you could not seem to work these simple apps , the cushions stacked in the corner are for all out the door chairs so that holiday makers can enjoy outdoor living When the weather is good - the tiny trivial cracks in the bedroom doors in which you were not sleeping in tare due to the summers weather - very tiny issues - everything’ reported we have actioned - I am really confused as the lodge is in much better condition is much better then when we first purchased it as per reviews - I am So disappointed at this totally fabricated and untrue review as we strive to make sure the lodge is in excellent condition and always invest in the maintenance and upkeep to make sure it’s in excellent condition- we also act straight away on any issues and we did with yourself when I had a very rude and impolite phone call asking why the tv wasn’t working - 99 % of people love their experience as per reviews unfortunately some people are impossible to please . Please look at all the other positive reviews - we will always respond and aim To please the guests , many thanks Property Owner

Only 1 bedroom tv worked so we didn't bother. Lights flickered in lounge, drove us crazy} kitchen lights not all working. Spiders and cobwebs all over (had to get rid of those!) One even joined us on the sofa! The main problem was being unable to contact either Sykes or the owner. Anyway we did really enjoy the week and would return, this time prepared for the faults!!

Is it a VERY lovely accomodation, spacious, very well equipped and in a wonderful & peaceful location but near enough the main facilities. I went with my Daughter, her partner and their two children and we ALL recommend Rodley Pines. We will definately stay again next year.

  • "We stayed in the caravan in March and we loved it!"

The caravan is beautifully decorated and it was spotlessly clean. It is perfectly placed in a quiet and private part of the park. The park is a very short drive to Scarborough beach and Filey. We left an item behind and the owners were great in helping us collect it. Couldn't fault it at all and we will certainly be returning at some point. Thanks for a great stay.

  • "Absolutely gorgeous caravan."

It had everything you could possibly need. It was very clean other than a little dust in certain places and the cups still seemed a bit dirty (but I think that’s due the washing machine not being the best). I would 100% visit again.

  • "We have stayed in this property a few times now and really love it."

The weather has been very wet and windy and we found it would be beneficial to have more slabs alongside the decking to save trailing mud onto the decking , it was quite sludgy . TV hasn't worked very well the whole time constantly buffering and no signal prob the weather. We did get netflix and amazon prime. Just trivia really we loved it. Xx

  • "We use "Syskes" a lot and were looking forward to this one but, it was very disappointing."

The exterior of the (Caravan) Chalet was discoloured and grubby in places. Rhones needed cleared. Living Room only had a settee and one Arm Chair (not the one on the photo) for 6! We never used the dining table choosing to eat out. The on- suite toilet floor was dirty around the edges. Clearly, the owners leave some of there own "things" in the Van and under all of the beds which made it very difficult for us to store cases etc. When we stripped the beds we found that the quilt had a large stain on it. Only room for one car! (6 Berth van). Not VFM for this Van Im afraid and we have hired many! Food left in Fridge! Oven dirty. Not the best for Rodley Pines im afraid. Comfort and cleaning failed miserably. Wouldnt recomend adults in the smaller rooms as beds were quite short.

Hi ,I am extremely sorry that you didn't enjoy your stay at Rodley Pines and had you have called me or Sykes cottages we would gladly helped in any way we could have. This is the first negative feedback we have received in 2 years and as you can see from pervious feedback it has been outstanding. Every year we replace old for new and the 1 seater armchair in the picture was replaced by a new 1 seater handmade swivel chair which is very comfortable and like for like size wise , we also have just replaced the carpets and put in a new kitchen too . Twice a year we power wash the exterior and this is due to be done next month. I am also sorry if you felt that it was dirty as the cleaner has been absolutely fabulous for us in the last few years always taking pride in her work(as you can see from the last 2 years of feedback) -however I will pass this feedback on to her . We also keep the bedding for changeovers under the bed and kids toys so that families' with kids can use them when they visit so i am really sorry that you could not store your cases. Also when you booked you booked for 2 people on my booking but 6 attended which is not a problem but i am very disappointed that you feel you didn't get value for money as it works out at less than £20 per night per person which is brilliant value for money . When we purchased the Lodge we choose a really nice quite part of the park that caravans/Lodges in the UK only have parking for 1 or max 2 spots and some don't have any. Rodley Pines is very fortunate to have 1 space and also offers a space at the front of the Lodge too. We really pride our self's in making Rodley Pines a really nice relaxing place to stay and every guest we have had have had so far has really nice things to say about their stay (as you can see from the reviews) and we always try to be helpful in any way we can be and endeavour to keep up to our high standard's which has got us the fantastic reviews so far apart from this one which is a very unfair and inaccurate review - Thanks Denis Property Owner

Set in a very quiet part of the park and all you hear is the birds singing. The lodge itself is perfect for us two and dog who loves it with the long walks close by. Will be returning again, maybe later this year and definitely next year

I don't know if there is a new owner but it just seemed all round better than last time. Again only downside, the lack of welcome pack just so you can have a cup of tea without having to scout for milk or risk taking it in car and it leaking.

A couple of things need attention but I am sure they have been resolved now. Battery renewal for the smoke alarms. The main oven did not work, so all cooking needed to be hob based. surprised to find lots of items in cupboards and under the bed either from the owner or from others that have stayed and left things behind. Nevertheless we very much enjoyed our visit to Cayton Bay

The caravan is well equipped and comfortable. The owner is very responsive to any questions. The location of the caravan on site is lovely and quiet but not too far to walk to the amenities. The on site amenities seem good too. There are good road links up and down the coast with beautiful places to visit. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend this caravan to others.

It is a beautifully presented lodge in a tranquil part of the park; we spent every morning enjoying breakfast on the veranda listening to the birds in the pine trees at the back of the lodge. The sitting area is spacious and tastefully decorated; we found it a great space to chill in after a day's sightseeing. The park is immaculate and the staff were very helpful at dealing with any queries. The lodge is far away from the noise of the park yet close enough should you wish to enjoy the facilities. We had a great holiday thanks to the comfort of this lovely lodge - we will return, thank you.
