The tiny back yard is a bit untidy the gate/door doesn't close properly, inside ok the front room is rather dated and settee not comfortable, kitchen all good , upstairs bathroom shower enclosure needs a clean filthyblack round base on top of Bath, overall the house does need a complete deep clean ,it's as tho everything has been rushed for next occupants thank you

The property was excellent the only downside was the blinds need servicing/fixing and it would be nice to update the tv to a smart tv for Netflix, Netflix through the blue ray player was rubbish the property is just a short walk from the town and the beach with parking for two cars at the back + parking on the road

  • "The travel instructions to the property were good."

The bedrooms were very nice with comfortable beds and lovely bed linen. The towels were lovely too. Both sets of venetian blinds were broken in the 2 main bedrooms. The downstairs shower did not work. The upstairs shower over the bath was fine. However with mobility issues I found it very difficult to climb into the bath as it's quite high. The riser rail in this bathroom needs attention. The central heating comes on during the night.. Not during the early evening when needed. The kitchen is very nice and modern. Overall the property is good but needs attention to the window blinds, the showers and the central heating.

I am sorry Sally had difficulty using Destiny Rose...and disappointed to receive such a low out-of-character score. The shower has been checked and is working perfectly well - it had be switched off at the isolator switch - a possibility that Sally was advised to check when she called over the issue. The blinds are both also working well, if a little heavy due to their size - am considering installing vertical blinds instead as these are easier to adjust.... The central heating is programmed to come on as requested by sally, however if switched to manual, as had been done, it will remain on at the temperature selected permanently. Property Owner

We've had a fabulous week here and honestly did not want to come home! Everywhere was clean and comfortable. Very tastefully decorated. Parking at the rear was a bit of a squeeze but an added bonus of the property. Excellent value for money, it's made us want to visit Whitby again!

  • "Four relatively minor things that could be corrected : window blind in front bedroom seems totally stuck, couldn't free the cords at all."

as curtains are thin this meant street light was very noticeable no working clocks, clock on cooker an hour fast, not clear how to reset saucepans are cheap and have non-insulated handles, potential for burns instructions suggest there is a key-safe at rear of property near parking; I couldn't see it anywhere obvious; was able to park on road so it didn't matter

  • "The cottage is an great location that is very close to the town with off road parking and is a very good size house for a large family and has everything you would need for your stay."

The only downside is the general cleaning especially curtains within the front bedroom have very noticeable stains and the general / detail cleaning around the property from skirting to window sills / light shades are very heavy with dust. On our first day we noticed that on the dinning table and sofa had crumbs left from previous guest . I think a deep clean is in order to correct all detail in every room.

  • "An excellent, well equipped cottage."

Spacious and stylish; it had everything anyone would need for a pleasant stay. We met the owner and he provided useful local information. Access to designated parking is a brilliant asset. Good proximity to town, the sea front and Pannett Park.

  • "As a regular customer with Sykes this fully met our Expectations."

The cleaning was not exceptional but it was acceptable . The location is excellent and Whitby is a wonderful place . My only issue is the costs for next Year should you wish to rebook. All prices have risen to an unacceptable level. When European holidays get back to normal you will struggle for sales. The prices are now based on supply and demand which will eventually mean you will struggle for customers when normality returns.

  • "We found destiny rose to be in a ideal location and the added bonus of parking spaces for 2 cars."

Good size house, 3 people stayed for 4 nights 2 people stayed for the whole 7 nights. (the third bedroom is more suited for a child, or short stay adult). We found the beds to be very comfortable (good quality bed covers). Just a couple of negative points On arrival although the work surfaces (kitchen) bathrooms/shower had been cleaned and the place hoovered, skirting boards, slatted blinds, and internal doors had not been cleaned. The window blinds very dusty, food splatter and general dirt on skirtings, doors dusty could do with a wipe. I know it takes time to clean slatted blinds etc, but once a month maybe a deep clean would be in order. Also towels and tea towel are provided (1 tea towel for the week!) if i had known this i would have brought some rather than having to buy some while i was there. These are just little niggles and could be easily rectified. It would not put me of staying again. :)

  • "We had a lovely holiday in Destiny Rose - it is a beautiful and comfortable place to explore Whitby from."

The location is perfect - ten mins walk into Whitby but away from the crowds - and the off road parking very useful (although it can be a tight squeeze if the neighbours both have two cars in!). The bed was very comfortable and the kitchen has anything you might need. As a heads up for dog owners, the courtyard has astroturf which dogs are not allowed to soil and the nearby park is no dogs, although there are a few grassy verges around for morning toilet walks. Overall, would highly recommend staying here!

  • "Stayed in whitby around 30 times in the last 12 years and never written a bad review however on this occasion this cottage was not clean!"

The CHARMING OWNER response did not help. He thought the best resolution to our complaint was to pack are bags and leave and receive a 50% refund, as he could let the property to someone less picky, on response to saying i had a right to expect a clean cottage he replied he had a right to a quiet weekend without me or Sykes bothering him. I have pictures to prove dirty rugs bathroom floors, cooker , dishwasher and more and even an admission from the cleaning team, that things hand been missed and on offer to do a deep clean , very best of look with the more than 50 % price increase for next year, very disappointing!!
