Pegasus cottage was the best cottage we have ever stopped in we have been to whitby at least 15 times and only found the cottage last year thank you Diane

  • "Pegasus Cottage is the ideal choice for us when in Whitby."

One adult has mobility issues and we can drive up to the front of the cottage to park the car then enter the cottage. The ground floor is accessible for someone using a walking stick. There is plenty of room to move around the ground floor. There is only one set of stairs with two rails to assist. The cottage was clean and welcoming. The town is nearby. We had a lovely week in Whitby.

  • "Pegasus Cottage could not be in a better position for exploring Whitby."

Situated in a compact courtyard adjacent to the White Horse & Griffen Hotel. Added bonus of parking for a small car due to 6'6" entrance. My Astra fitted with a couple of inches to spare with mirrors folded in. Cottage itself is fully equipped with everything you could need for a comfortable stay, with a contactable owner if needed. Highly recommend cottage and location.

  • "Excellent location in the centre of Whitby, but still very quiet at night."

We will definitely recommend to family and friends. The parking was a really good advantage, although we only just managed to get our Corsa through the entrance, but all in all an excellent cottage in an excellent location

Great cottage every thing we needed is in the cottage nice and quiet even though we were in the middle of the town will definitely book again The only downside is the entrance into white horse yard it’s very narrow you need a small car to gain access and egress apart from that everything else is brilliant

  • "Fabulous location, very clean and tidy."

Well equipped kitchen. Only downside is the entrance to get to the cottage is really very very narrow and difficult. Unfortunately, although this is mentioned in the description (it says its narrow), the photos only show the driveway at the cottage and not the alleyway you have to drive through first so thought this is a little bit deceptive. Once we did get the car through it stayed there!

Nice touch of welcoming pint of milk and box of chocolates .Right in the heart of Whitby , close to all amenities , and attractions , only drawback is narrow entrance to yard where cottage is located ,but as was built before cars invented , can’t really complain and there is a car park close by .

  • "We really enjoyed our stay at Pegasus Cottage."

It was very comfortable, clean, and had everything we needed for a family of four. The car parking space was such an important part of the holiday for us, as last time we were in Whitby we spent time looking for free parking again whenever we left our parking spot. Our Seat Ibiza car fit through the entrance. The kitchen was especially well equipped. thank you Diane for the chocolates and your friendliness.

  • "Pegasus is a lovely cottage, and it was spotlessly clean when we arrived, with the added all-important facility of somewhere to park a small car."

The kitchen has more or less everything needed for self-catering, but the unusually small combined fridge/freezer was a joke. In order to retrieve anything from the fridge compartment I had to literally get down on my hands and knees, which, with arthritis in both knees and a badly worn hip, was a major problem. I noted from previous occupants that they received a welcome pack of chocolates and cake, but all I received was a pint of milk that had to be thrown away because it had gone off and had reached its sell-by-date, denying me the much-needed cup of tea until I had gone out to buy some fresh milk. Other than that, I was pleased overall with the accommodation.

  • "Lovely cottage, very close to everything but you can't hear any noise as tucked away."

Good parking on site if you have a small car, too tight for anything larger than a Fiesta but handy council car park very close on Church Street.

  • "Pegasus Cottage is in the most ideal situation in Church Street Whitby."

Central to everything. Ample parking for a small car due to width restrictions with the entry. Clean, comfortable, with everything you could need. Diane makes you so welcome, and responds positively to any enquiry during your stay. We had a great, relaxing holiday again this year. Highly recommended.

  • "A Birthday week in Whitby at Pegasus Cottage was just perfect !"

The owner was very helpful and friendly when I made contact for the location of the cottage. The lane to the cottage, off one of the the cobbled streets, is 6ft 6" wide, so this needs to be considered with regards to the vehicle you have. There is long term pay and display parking available in the area if your vehicle is too wide for the lane, and this is cheaper if you go to the local Tourist Office for your ticket/permit (so someone mentioned in the cottage Visitors Book). The cottage was like home from home, spotlessly clean, comfortable, cosy, warm, very well equipped, and had everything you need for a great stay. Whitby itself has lots of attractions, quaint cobbled streets, great cafes/ restaurants/takeaways, friendly atmosphere, varied shops, supermarkets and great Museum, which is well worth a visit. The surrounding area has beautiful countryside, pretty fishing villages and seaside resorts to visit. Whitby, and Pegasus Cottage, provided us with a fantastic week away, and we would visit both again in a heart beat !

Thank you Hellena for you kind feedback. I'm so pleased to read that you enjoyed both Pegasus Cottage and the delights of Whitby. Property Owner

Very comfortable with good amenities. Location is fantastic for a stay in whitby. No complaints. I do think you need to point out that the entrance drive is extremely narrow next to the White Lion Griffin. It has generous parking if you can squeeze through. I just about managed with my skoda yeti (just). Other than that, perfect!

  • "Pegasus Cottage is ideally situated for a holiday in Whitby."

The entrance to the cottage parking is narrow but a small family car will fit through the 6’6” opening with the mirrors closed in. The cottage is exceptionally well equipped with everything you are likely to need, and is in the middle of things along from the foot of the 199 steps. A real joy.
