  • "Had a lovely 5‑night stay, BUT on the 4th morning we woke at 8am to men putting up scaffolding right outside our window, which was very noisy and intruding on our privacy."

    They then put up a scaffolding sign blocking our total view, so we had to close the blind and put the lights on. I immediately rang the owner; she replied that she didn’t know this was going to happen and that she would come down to speak to the scaffolders. Not long after, they moved the advertising sign higher up. Then the owner rang back to say she had contacted the company and they said work on the roof would not be happening whilst we were there. I replied that I wasn’t happy and would not have booked if I had known maintenance work would be taking place.

  • "We had a lovely week in Abbey View, the views are great and parking is such a bonus."

    We did find the lift access a bit strange as there was no information regarding this prior to our visit but we sussed it out eventually having realised we needed to enter the building through a different door. The kitchen was well equipped, bed super comfy. The only downside was the bathroom which was freezing cold (it was January, I know) but all the same you definitely didn’t want to linger in there.

  • "A lovely apartment which is very clean."

    One can usually find somethings not so very clean when renting holiday accommodation such as the oven, oven trays, fridge-freezer seals and kettles that need descaling. It was a very comfortable, and quiet property, although our stay was in low season. It has lovely views across the river, and is approx. a ten minute walk into Whitby town centre. It also, has the benefit of an allocated parking bay. The only suggestion I would offer is perhaps consider a clothes airer so that the dryer doesn't have to be used. Thank you, for providing a clean and comfortable space.

  • "Abbey View is an amazing apartment beautifully clean, easy 10 minute walk to town and with parking."

    Everything you need is provided and the host included a wonderful welcome tray with some local biscuits which was such a nice welcome. The view from the window is amazing right over the river and with the bonus of steam trains coming and going too. We had a brilliant week here and enjoyed it so much we booked for next year.

    Only a 10 mins level walk into the town. A dedicated parking space is a bonus. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend staying here.

  • "This has to be the best place we’ve ever stayed at in Whitby."

    The apartment was first class, well equipped and everything was spotless. Having a dedicated parking space is also a definite advantage. Also a 10 minute walk to the town was another bonus. To top it off the view was amazing from the apartment. Spent many an hour watching the boats and the trains go by. In addition even if you have limited mobility the apartment is accessible because of the adjacent lift. (However bear in mind mobility scooters aren’t permitted in the building.) All in all throughly recommend staying in Abbey View when visiting Whitby.

  • "Super appartment, very clean and fitted out with most things that we needed."

    Owner is very approachable. Parking is ace. Could do with a note to say that the lift is in the adjacent stairwell and then a short walk through to flat. Didn't find out until I had carried the stuff up the stairs - or maybe its me and I missed the note. Just a minor thing. All in all excellent - thankyou

  • "This is by far the best Sykes holiday property that I have stayed in, some having been 'very' mediocre."

    Immaculately clean and well maintained, both fittings and decor. Everything you need to have a great stay, a very thoughtful welcome pack awaits your arrival. (T bags, milk etc) Within reasonable walking distance of the town centre, views out of the windows down the Esk to the harbour, and of course the benefit of your own designated parking space directly outside your flat. (this is a serious benefit in Whitby) I genuinely could not pick fault with anything. Definitely will be staying here again. Thoroughly recommend 10/10

  • "We have been coming to Whitby for many years and Abbey View is by far the best accommodation we have ever stopped in."

    From the moment we opened the front door we knew we were in for a treat and we were not disappointed the apartment is spotlessly clean, tastefully decorated along with comfortable beds and seating. Everything you want from a holiday home and more, we would like a special mention to Mandy who made our stay a happy one, the welcome pack was a added bonus after a very long drive. Thank you again we will definitely be back we have left a little part of our hearts in Abbey View.

  • "Lovely property for time away in Whitby."

    We had a great week at Abbey View. Easy access to a parking spot, a lift to get to the apartment easily and a lovely view of the harbour. The host was very easy to contact and was happy to answer any questions. It was a home away from home. We loved the tea tray with the biscuits and the jigsaws, books and smart tv to keep us entertained during a rainy hour. We will definitely be returning to Abbey View for our next Whitby visit.

  • "This was a beautiful apartment and was kitted out with everything needed."

    Amanda the owner was lovely and very helpful. We had variable weather, but this didn't spoil our holiday as it was so nice just to sit in the flat and enjoy the views. Flat was also good base as not far from centre of Whitby and all amenities.

Overlooking the glistening waters of the River Esk, in the historic town of Whitby, in North Yorkshire, rests this wonderful second floor apartment, Abbey View.

Enjoying an idyllic riverside location within the desirable Whitehall Landing complex, whilst framing unrivalled views of the harbour and overlooking the steam railway, Abbey View is an excellent spot for a small family or group of friends looking to explore the delights of North Yorkshire.

Park up in the off-road parking space provided at the foot of your new home-from-home before making your way up to the second floor via the communal entrance to begin your staycation.

Stepping inside, be welcomed into the open-plan living space, where you can look forward to kicking off your shoes and unwinding in front of the television, or soaking in the spectacular waterfront views with a seat in the window.
