Clean, just what we needed and close to the town centre for us to be able to walk in for our fish and chips. Would recommend.

A downstairs toilet would have been welcome when my granddaughter and family came to stay perhaps put in the utility are and maybe another tv but on the whole it was everything you could want and not far to town even for me (78) lovely holiday just what we needed first holiday after lockdown will book again

However, can we suggest a draining rack for dishes and a tea towel in the kitchen? Otherwise, the location was perfect, the place was warm and clean and we had a very enjoyable stay in our favourite English seaside town.

Thanks for your positive feedback. We hope to see you again Property Owner

  • "Really enjoyed our stay."

It was very clean and felt very secure in the complex of holiday homes. Great parking. Everything you could wish for at hand. Arrived early so we could know where the cottage was for latter. We were spotted by a relative of the owner and he insisted we left the car rather than find a car park, which was great. I only held back on one star, due to the road noise. I am a very lite sleeper and maybe others would not have a problem.

Thankyou for your kind feedback. Just for information the road outside that leads down to the swing bridge was a little busier than normal due to roadworks on the junction A171. These are temporary works which made some people divert down our road. We will be back to normal by end of the week. Property Owner

  • "Couldn't really fault this place, not that I would want to anyway."

I contacted the owner Andy in advance of my arrival and he was extremely helpful and accommodating. Went for a couple of days' walking on the Cleveland Way/Cinder Track with a pal and we both had an excellent time in Whitby. After a long walk, I have to say that the shower in the house is absolutely brilliant - really powerful to wash away the aches and pains! Location is great, just a few minutes' walk from the town centre but far enough not to be disturbed by the hustle and bustle. The parking space is a bonus as it looks like Whitby could be awkward when busy. Saw a couple of reviews moaning about the proximity of the boatyard but I honestly had no issue with any noise etc. The rear of the house backs onto the street heading into the town centre, but again it wasn't a problem. Would absolutely stay here again if I should be in the area.

Thank you for your kind comments. We really appreciate them and makes us work harder for our customers experience. Property Owner

  • "Very friendly neighbours at the property."

The boat building yard adjacent was rather noisy at times. From the listing it looked as though the property looked out over the harbour and it did not which was the only thing that was a little disappointing. Otherwise it was a wonderful cottage in a great location and lovely to have off road parking.

Big enough for my family of 5! Very spacious and lots of room. One thing that would have been nice was maybe a TV in one of bedrooms as kids took over! Could have also benefitted from a washing line otherwise like home from home! Thoroughly enjoyed staying here.

  • "Tis is a wonderful cottage for a stay in Whitby."

It is situated across the river from the main town which is a 10 - 15 walk across the bridge to tall the amenities restaurants etc. The cottage itself was very well equipt, so no need to take loads of things (just in case). It is very spacious and it sleeps 5 - 6 people comfortably. I would recommend this cottage to anyone with a family but we were just 2 friends and we loved it.

  • "Abraham’s Cottage was great."

Comfortable, cosy and spotlessly clean and well presented. The little Christmas tree was a nice touch as well. The cottage has a combi boiler, heating was excellent and there was plentiful hot water. The living room was comfortable and the ground floor of the cottage is very spacious. The little extra sitting room was a great place for our dog’s basket and the utility area was handy for all of his towels, leads, food etc. We didn’t use the front bedroom as we found the fitted wardrobes over the bed claustrophobic. Maybe that is just us! The back bedroom was very pleasant. The kitchen was pretty well equipped and there is plenty of worktop space. Overall there was plenty of crockery and cups. We were a wee bit surprised that there wasn’t a teapot (in Yorkshire?!?) and the only coffee making facility was a tiny cafetière. These would make nice additions. A four slice toaster would also have been nice....especially if there were more than two of you. Just a couple of little details, otherwise the facilities were very good indeed. It’s just a short walk into the centre of Whitby and there are pubs and a great fish and chip shop within just a couple of minutes walk. The allocated parking space was a huge bonus. We have a VW Camper Van and often allocated parking is either height restricted or only suitable for a small car so it was great to find a full size unrestricted space for our use. A very nice cottage in a fantastic location.

Beds were very comfortable, bathroom and shower were Spot on , lounge very relaxing, and the kitchen and dining room was very well presented and with everything needed for a well earned holiday , just a little point which could make the stay more enjoyable would be an additional TV in at least one of the bedrooms, other than that a very nice place to stay , and most recommended by our family
