Bram's Lair

The apartment was ideal in a lovely location, everything needed was available and more from books to read and DVD's we had such a lovely holiday and will be back next year!

A great break.

We enjoyed our stay and found the property to be character full, comfortable and very well located for exploring Whitby and surrounding areas. We would certainly consider a return visit.

Loved the stay here with my daughter who also loved the apartment and its location.

Generally very good, but 2 minor issues: - The bathroom floor is covered with thin tiles that look like planks of wood.

These are loose and move up and down when walked on. It would be possible for someone to trip or possibly cut their feet on these tiles - the left hand shower tap head comes off when you try to use it

Fabulous apartment in a perfect location we had a wonderful few days.

The apartment is much bigger than it looks on the photos. The photos don’t really do it any justice the beds are really comfy and the apartment was lovely and clean on a minor point we couldn’t find any oven gloves and some of the knives, forks and spoons looking very tired that really is just a minor point though everything else was perfect and we are already looking to book again for next year. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Great location and we were greeted on arrival with a lovely warm apartment which was appreciated on a cold day.

The hamper of treats and the dog treats were much appreciated. We didn't realise dog bowls would be provided so did bring our own but that was a handy touch by the owners. Apartment had all the amenities we needed - we did end up bringing our own iron and hairdryer as I couldn't see these as being listed as provided for (apologies if they were listed and I missed it) but if they aren't listed then I think it would be a good idea to just make a note that these are provided. Bed was comfy and lovely bedding along with fluffy thick towels added to the comfortable stay. The apartment overall is lovely and we enjoyed our stay. It's great that parking permits are provided and we found a spot easily with it being November but we did make an error with the second permit in that I omitted to add my reg plate on the permit and did come back to a parking notice which I was gutted about!! - I have appealed and await the outcome but would advise future guests to be so careful with these permits as not only ourselves but other cars around us got tickets also. The only negatives were the main front door to the actual building - it is a heavy door which is not easy to push/pull open and even more difficult to shut - my husband who is a pretty stocky young man even had to give it a good pull to get it to shut so we did want to provide feedback on this to advise we feel it could do with being looked at. Finally I felt the apartment was clean and tidy overall but there could just do with a bit more attention to detail with things like skirting boards which were dusty in places and the stool in the under sink cupboard in the bathroom was not clean enough to use. Overall we enjoyed our stay and love Whitby.

Excellent location and facilities.

Comfortable and welcoming as a dog owner. Parking permits were a very welcome part of the package. We will recommend this to friends to take a few days in Whitby in this comfortable appartment

We had such a lovely stay!

Beams lair is in an amazing location. We loved the views over the sea and how easy it was to get to everything from West Cliff. The beds were super comfy, the kitchen well equipped and we especially appreciated all the attention to detail for those traveling with children like a high chair, kids plates and cups, and a stool in the bathroom to help little ones get to the sink! We had a perfect stay and will definitely be back!

Beautiful,well maintained property,very comfortable bed.

It was in a great position in Whitby with easy access to everything, The sunsets over the sea viewed from the lounge window was amazing! The small criticism I have is that the access to the property was not as described as there was no green key on the fob,but Yorkshire Coastal Cottages were able to sort this out,albeit with some difficulty,but good humour!

Great place to stay.

Kitchen well equipped, comfortable living and sleeping rooms. One thing. Why the self-closing doors, especially as wedge door stops are provided to thwart them from closing. Its anxiety inducing every time you open a door preventing it from slamming shut behind you. So far as I know, no fire safety requirement is involved so, please, it would be a simple matter to remove the door closers. Second thing: bathroom basin too small for the job. Why does every holiday let I book have a basin and tap that is inadequate to the task of brushing teeth and washing one's face ? A triumph of style over utility. Otherwise the bathroom is spacious and practical. Overall a great place to stay.

Throughly enjoyed are stay at Brams lair.

Very clean and well presented. Everything you would need in the apartment to make your stay as comfortable as possible. I would highly recommend this property.

The flat is superbly located with parking in the crescent outside, with a permit provided by the owner.

We felt welcomed from the moment we arrived with a small welcome pack. There is easy. access to the Whitby Harbour area and good flat walking if you want to walk in the West Cliff area. The flat is well equipped with modern kitchen and bathroom areas. No hesitation in recommending this accommodation.

Another lovely break in wonderful Whitby.

This was our 4th and definitely not our last stay in your beautiful apartment, very comfortable and spotless in a perfect location next to the beach and close to all the best restaurants. We will be back

Bram's Lair is a lovely flat and provided everything that was required for a comfortable week’s stay.

The only negative would relate to a few minor issues which could easily be rectified. First the window in the front bedroom is extremely draughty around the opener. The bad weather towards the end of the week meant the door had to be shut otherwise the draft would have rendered the central heating less effective around the rest of the flat. We were lucky there was only us but if you had a larger group it would have been an uncomfortable stay for the ones using that room. Some stick on draught exclusion tape would help. Second the kitchen floor has lifted between two joins which creates a bit of a trip hazard. Again this can be easily rectified. The welcome bag was very much appreciated and a lovely touch.

Lovely apartment in a beautiful and convenient location.

Owners were fantastic - the only problem we experienced (with the building, not the apartment) was sorted straight away. Everything we needed was provided as well as a much appreciated welcome pack. We managed to find parking spaces nearby using the scratchcard permits provided despite it being particularly busy for Goth Weekend. Will definitely visit again - thank you!

We absolutely loved this accommodation, it was very clean, comfortable and quiet.

The welcome pack was a lovely touch and very much welcome after a longer than usual journey up. The location was perfect, just stepping outside with a coffee and sitting on the promenade of an evening was just amazing.

Excellent apartment, sea view better than expected.

Clean cosy and well presented. Ideal central location close . Very nice welcome pack including treats for Tangle. Would recommend and very much hope to stay here again.

Location of Bram's is fabulous with great views over the promenade & out to sea. It is only a short walk into town. The welcome pack was an added bonus. Thanks very much. I would definitely recommend Bram's & hopefully we will be back soon.

The holiday flat, was lovely.

The welcome pack great. Parking was horrendous, ( not the holiday letting company’s fault) it took me 2 days to be able to park on the road, luckily my mum has a disabled badge, so we were able to park without paying, in a different street. The toilet seat needs changing, it doesn’t fit, it’s a shame, as the decor is lovely, then you put the wrong size seat on the toilet, doesn’t make sense!

Fabulous property with stunning sea views.

Accommodation was as described, lovely welcome pack and our dog enjoyed the treats! Excellent location in a lovely, quiet area. It is very atmospheric with the Dracula connection, it certainly felt very quaint. We just love these beautiful old buildings in Whitby. Would definitely stay here again.

I can highly recommend this ground floor accommodation.

It’s location is within a short walking distance to the main part of Whitby without being in it. Parking was easy and we managed to park outside the residence on all the days of our stay. The provision of a parking voucher took the worry away. The accommodation was very clean and you have all the amenities you would need to make your stay comfortable. We would rebook this accommodation without hesitation and would be disappointed not to get it gain. The only suggestion we would have is to provide some oven gloves.

Great little welcome basket with treats for the dog too! Wifi good and found parking midweek east but it did get busy Friday evening and Saturday morning

Bathroom was not clean, sent some pictures to Sykes and got a can’t really be bothered attitude.

No one is checking the cleaning companies that are hired to clean these rental properties

Perfect in every way!

Comfortable beds (so important), excellent little kitchen, fab sea views, toy box which our daughter loved, generous welcome pack…. And of course the privilege of staying in the place that inspired Bram Stoker’s famous story! Thank you we’ve had a wonderful few days in your lovely property. We’ll be back :-)

Well placed and spacious apartment.

Convenient for the town but also ideal for a stroll along West Cliff. Only one slight problem, the bathroom lock didn't work. Not too much of a problem as there were only the two of us for most of the week and when our daughter and her husband joined us for a few days we devised a signalling system to indicate in use or not! Brilliant welcome hamper. Would definitely stay there again.

We enjoyed a lovely week in Whitby and really loved staying at this excellent flat in a great location for exploring what the town has to offer.

The flat provides comfort and is equipped with everything needed for a cosy and pampered stay. We definitely hope to visit again.

The location was perfect, everything was of high standard hence the high scores. A TV in the bedroom would have been even better.

We’ve stayed at Bram’s Lair three times over the past few years, most recently over Christmas 2022.

The flat’s ideally situated for a dog walk on the beach or a wander down into the town (or up to the abbey). And when you’ve done with the bracing winds, it’s a lovely warm retreat with everything you need for a relaxing night in. Highly recommended.

What a lovely apartment.

So handy for the town and exploring the local area. The view ia a delightful added bonus too! Highly recommend Clara's for coffee. The welcome hamper was so welcomed and thoughtful.
