    “Great house, great holiday!”

Given the variable Whitby weather, Calliope House proved to be excellent accommodation for my family and friends on our long weekend exploration of the town and coast. Given the variable Whitby weather, Calliope House proved to be excellent accommodation for my family and friends on our long weekend exploration of the town and coast. When it was cold and wet, the house was roomy enough for us enjoy each other's company as well as giving us the space for social timeout. When the sun was shining, we opened the doors in the downstairs kitchen and enjoyed the terraced garden, took the short walk down to the shops and attractions, and got out to nearby Robin Hood's Bay for some fossil hunting. Our 8 year old son loved the house, making himself at home in one of the top floor ’cabin’ bedrooms, the town (HM Bark Endeavour got his 5 stars!) and our adventures on the coast. We enjoyed the fact that the house was well furnished and decorated, the beds were nice and comfy, the heating system was up to the job when the north wind blew, and the kitchen had everything we needed - a real home from home.
