  • "Property is in an ideal situation with all Amenities on doorstep but very quiet at night."

. A lot of steps up to property but you get used to these as everywhere you go in Whitby it’s steps and slopes. Nice seating area outside for the warmer days dining al fresco. The cottage is very clean and comfortable with very comfy beds. Well equipped kitchen although could do with some wine glasses. Had Prosecco ones but no wine. Lovely welcome pack provided which was greatly received and enjoyed so we bought some of the products to take home as very good quality. Wifi not brilliant to point of TV kept going off due to poor signal but didn’t bother us too much. Bus station is less than 5 mins away and if get arriva can travel anywhere for £2 per adult even to Scarbirough. Trenchers restaurant is good, pleasant staff. and good quality food reasonably priced. Lots of good bars but we found other side of river quieter pub The Tavern. Table service drinks slightly cheaper and lovely staff and very nice inside. Used by locals and all very friendly. Good places to eat outside Whitby. The Ellerby and The Cod and Lobster at Staithes. We will Definitely book agin .

  • "Location was perfect a short walk to the centre, with the added bonus of a car parking space adjacent to the property."

property was clean and tidy, unfortunately the weather was rather cold and the bedrooms were cold as there was no heating.

  • "A well equipped cottage in close proximity to the centre of Whitby."

Steps up to property were challenging but there was warning of this in the description so no complaints, just something to be aware of. Shower room on second level could do with a bit of renovation around floor level but this was just cosmetic. Shower itself was good. Bedding and towels excellent. Would recommend to those who can deal with the steps!

  • "Coastguards View was perfect for the 5 of us who were visiting Whitby for a wedding."

In terms of the accommodation and the location, both were absolutely perfect and even the steps up to the house were not a problem! The welcome pack filled with local goodies was such a lovely touch, we loved the Bothams ginger cake and biscuits. We would definitely return. Thank you!

  • "It was a lovely property, great location and very clean, we would happily recommend."

Just some small points which didn’t affect us hugely but worth mentioning. The coat hooks in the hall aren’t secured into the wall So we couldn’t use them. The internet was a bit flaky. The shower could do with somewhere you can put soap or shower gel. There was a coffee machine but no pods supplied. We tried Coop but they didn’t stock the particular pods. It might’ve been nice to have had some included, maybe as part of a welcome pack on arrival, as we’ve had during similar stays elsewhere, as we were staying for a whole week. Thanks.

  • "The property worked really well for us (family of four, two adults with children aged 11 and 15)."

The stairs up to and in the cottage gave us a good work-out, the cottage was well situated for everything in Whitby, comfortable, (including the beds) and warm with the opportunity to adjust the temperature when hot/cold. Thank you, we'd happily return.

  • "Beautiful property, perfect location!"

Photos of all the bedrooms would’ve been helpful. Very clean. Only thing that would of made it 5 starts are the beds and pillows was a little uncomfortable, bring tea, coffee and sugar of your own as it isn’t supplied. There is a co-op close by which is helpful. Really enjoyed our stay, very peaceful.

  • "A comfortable and well maintained property which is in a great location for Whitby."

A couple of downsides: - Parking is very tight and we did have an issue with someone taking the allocated space at one point which wasn't ideal - Very little sound insulation between floors! If you have younger kids you will hear them. A lot.

  • "Excellent property."

In a fantastic location and parking which is a rarity in Whitby! Lots of facilities in the property (iron, a wide choice of utensils, etc). Very roomy and tastefully decorated. Very light and airy - the living room has a nice juliette balcony with decent views. The outdoor seating area was very nice - just a slight amendment needs to be made and that it is listed that there is a lawn when there isn't. Also the communal bin area was a mess! Wasn't collected in the week when we were present and it got backed up that much, people ended up chucking the rubbish in piles outside the bins. It wasn't pleasant taking bins out when the rubbish is rotting and smelling in the warm weather - that's my only very minor complaint but it needs to be noted! Another massive plus was the welcome pack, which was very thoughtful. All in all it was a lovely property, in a nice location and we all thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We'll look to going again next year.

Just returned from a lovely week's holiday, even though we were in the top of the complex the 51 steps weren't a problem both my husband and I are OAP we got up them, the accommodation had everything we needed, definitely go again

Showers were excellent. It is in a great location close to the centre of Whitby and having off street parking was a great, although it is very tight. The steps up to the property weren’t an issue for us but could be for others with mobility. It certainly keeps you fit with check in and out. Only downside was there is a lot of lights from the step area outside so could really do with blackout curtains as the rooms didn’t get very dark. We reported an issue with a bathroom light which was fixed the next day.

  • "This property is excellent !"

We would definitely stay again however maybe bringing some mattress toppers with us, our only complaint would be the mattresses on both double beds are extremely hard. Excellent equipment nothing missing the garden and views are gorgeous the furnishings are lovely and the parking is great. People have not been careful in the property therefore the skirting boards in the bathroom have been covered with water and are flaking off but that’s not the owners fault that is people being careless with water, the paint on the walls in the bedroom is flaking too which my husband says is damp ( he’s a builder ) However these were not major issues for us and we would stay again. The only thing that would be a good idea is a blind for the lounge window as it is overlooked by a window in another property and a blind at the door to the garden as you can’t come out of the bathroom without getting dressed again overlooked by a public footpath and other properties. We had a fab stay though.
