  • "Cottage was spotlessly clean, extremely well equipped and welcome pack was much appreciated."

The location was excellent and could not fault the accommodation, thanks you.

  • "We have previously stayed in other self catering accommodation nearby but this was our first time in Crossing Cottage."

The cottage was clean and the facilities wonderful especially the nice surprise of a dishwasher which is not listed on the facilities. A lovely welcome pack with fresh flowers tea coffee and sugar and a bottle of wine. A nespresso machine is a nice touch although we didn't use it much as we like strong black coffee. We would definitely recommend Crossing Cottage for couples although it may not be one for families as there is only one double and one single room. We will certainly look at staying again on our next visit to Whitby.

  • "Had a great time."

Stopped at other accomodation in whitby but this far the best.Only couple of things to mention. It be helpful to have a handrail to step out of the bath after having a shower because it was very slippy and I class myself as quite an agile 61 year old and instructions for the washer/dryer please. These are by no means complaints just suggestions as house was fantastic. Will be booking again. Thank you so much.

  • "Crossing Cottage is wonderful."

It is beautifully presented, immaculately clean and has everything you could possibly need to make a stay perfect! The thoughtful extras like the coffee machine and practical extras like the airing rack are really appreciated too. For steam train enthusiasts, the view from the window watching the trains go by is a real bonus. I have no hesitation in recommending this holiday cottage.

  • "A lovely cottage, very clean and a nice welcome pack."

Great location just a few minutes walk to the centre of Whitby. The benefit of having private off-road parking is really appreciated when you see how busy the town centre car parks get. We would definitely recommend this cottage particularly if you want to see the steam trains which go right past the cottage a few times each day.

The seating and beds were very comfortable, and the heating system efficient. The cleansing agents and the flowers etc. were appreciated bonuses. In walking distance to Whitby town centre, the harbour and the Co-op and the amazing long distance paths added to a wonderful week. The view from the windows, and the trains passing so close just made our holiday very special.

Had everything you would expect when staying in a holiday cottage and more The Edge bistro is highly recommended The steam trains didn't cause any disruption to our stay. On arrival milk had been left in the fridge for us & a packet of biscuits to enjoy. Lovely touch

  • "Excellent cottage in a great location."

The decor and furnishings are all first rate, little extras such as tea bags, milk, sugar etc were all supplied and a big plus is the allocated parking. It's close to the town but far enough away to be nice and quiet, there are trains passing the door but only 5/6 services a day so even if trains are not your thing there's not enough of them to be a problem. Tip: For a "real" chip shop try the Railway Chippy, in a row of terraces up the hill from the cottage, good value and great quality - and eating them in the cottage overlooking the harbour is hard to beat!

  • "We really enjoyed our break at the cottage."

It is in a great location, only a couple of minutes walk to the train station and centre of Whitby, and there is a parking space off road and right outside the cottage. The place was very clean and had everything we needed. There is a co-op a couple of min walk away if you want to get some bits. The owner was very helpful when I called to re-confirm the reservation a few days before.

  • "This was a lovely property with everything we could want, and the owner had gone the extra mile regarding cleanliness because of Covid 19 even using a UVL fogger so we felt safe being there."

A friendly general list of things to do which was easy enough to follow none of it unreasonable during these uncertain times, I messaged about one thing on the list and Meg got straight back to me with the answer. Quiet area and if you like trains it’s a bonus but they do not disturb you. Would recommend we loved it.
