  • "Wow, as we stepped into the apartment, we was welcomed by a bright and airy open-plan space, with tall ceilings and beautiful wooden beams, with a luxury touch of a fresh flower display on the coffee table."

    The welcome pack is such a lovely thoughtful touch too and very much welcomed on arrival. The beautiful room incorporates a kitchen, dining area, and lounge. The kitchen is fully equipped with high quality appliances and all the essentials you could need, with a choice of dining table and comfy chairs or equally as comfy bar stools, sitting at the breakfast bar, to eat your meals. The lounge area is snug and again high quality coordinated furnishings and light fittings make this area of the room just perfect to sit in at any time of year. We enjoyed the October sun coming through the French doors and the NYMR steam and diesel trains coming past daily and enjoyed the smiles and waving to the passengers on the trains. The bedroom is beautifully decorated with coordinated furnishings and has plenty of storage in the bedside cabinets and walk in wardrobe. A real peaceful retreat, which provided us with such restful nights sleep. The Duchess of Hamilton Apartments also has a much welcomed secure parking space in the attached garage. We have stayed in some beautiful apartments over the years, but this one absolutely tops them all and we will definitely be booking to come again and highly recommend to family and friends. Absolutely 5 Star.

  • "This apartment is so spacious and beautifully appointed."

    The location is walking distance into and really convenient for Whitby town centre. Great to have an allocated parking space and seeing the steam trains and vintage diesel every day is such a treat. The bed was rather too firm for us, but that is such a personal preference. The shower is great and overall the apartment is a lovely space. For anyone who isn’t keen on stairs, the Duchess of Hamilton is on the same level as the garage, so ideal.

  • "Wow, what a fab place to spend your holiday!"

    Loved absolutely everything about it. Great accommodation, comfy, clean, well equipped. Loved being next to the railway and the whole character and feel of the Duchess of Hamilton. And thank you for providing bath sheets rather than bath towels. #it’s the small things. Will definitely be back.

  • "Had a fabulous week in the Duchess of Hamilton."

    Everything was spotlessly clean which is thanks to Jo and her great team. Lovely to have the steam trains stop right outside the windows. Short walk into Whitby centre and the secure parking was a definite bonus. We only used the car once. The only downside was the very uncomfortable sofa. Overall a very pleasant stay helped by the fabulous weather.

  • "A high quality, spacious apartment with secure parking and in a central part of town."

    Immaculately clean with a huge comfy bed, soft towels and a great shower - couldn't fault anything. Building feels really secure and is well designed to keep it's original features yet contains sound proof apartments. This apartment is on the entry level of the building so has stair free access. Fresh flowers and welcome bits much appreciated.

  • "A stunning, immaculate and homely apartment with everything you need AND secure parking!"

    The welcome pack and flowers were lovely too. The apartment is central and just a short walk to Whitby Harbour, train & bus stations and supermarket. Jo, the housekeeper, and her team are brilliant and very helpful. We loved watching the steam trains from our window! Thank you for a wonderful 10/10 stay in your apartment.   • "This was our second visit to The Duchess of Hamilton this year."

    The apartment is immaculate and the fresh flower displays in the living area were very attractive. Our welcome pack included some delightful fresh bread and milk - very useful. Jo the housekeeper is on hand should anyone need a little help and she really is on top of her game. A delight to speak to! We had the steam train working for three days on the local line and fortunately the locomotive always stops outside of our window. Great to see the stoker loading coal and lots of enthusiasts taking photos. Another enjoyable stay in Whitby.

  • "Wonderful apartment, ideally situated within a few minutes walk to the center and train station."

    It was spotless with some lovely additions. The apartments are very secure with a garage attached to park your car which was a real bonus. I would highly recommend a stay here.

  • "This is a beautiful apartment, obviously well maintained by the owner."

    Situated at car park level, so, ideal when moving your luggage to the suite. Located near to the train and bus stations so perfect if you want to travel. 5 minutes walk to the town centre. Trains trundle by and we had the privilege of seeing a steam engine stop outside of our window while the stoker loaded coke into the furnace.
