Hideaway Cottage

Extremely difficult to find we were looking for the cottage as it looks on the listing .

It would be helpful if a sign stated access to hideaway cottage on the alleyway door . The cottage was a gem .

From the moment we entered the courtyard through the wooden door on the street we loved the hideaway cottage, and were not disappointed, we enjoyed being able to enjoy the quiet of the courtyard, and on entering the cottage we were really impressed with how spotlessly clean and tidy with a homely feel the cottage is, it had everything you could expect and more, the owners welcome booklet telling you where everything was and how to work it was very helpful, and the welcome pack was a very nice surprise and very much appreciated, you are a stones throw from the harbour and shops and bars and restaurants, we have already recommended the cottage to friends, thank you

This house was a great pick for our family.

The location is ideal and close to everything. The house was impeccably clean. No dust, grime, stains etc. the house had a great view of Whitby and the Abbey. We appreciated the generous welcome bag with the goodies. We will definitely be back.

we found why the cottage was called hideaway - a great idea and made finding the cottage special hidden behind a door.

The cottage is beautiful - all clean - great comfy beds - loved my room being a dracula fan in the abbey room with ensuite bathroom - there are 2 other bedrooms - good views of the abbey. Near to local shops. The little courtyard has a table and chairs so you can enjoy the sunshine - well kept plants - courtyard shared by other persons all very friendly. strongly recommend this cottage.

Wow, what a great property.

It's a short walk from the centre of town and a short walk from the parking areas. The cottage is immaculate and the welcome pack was the best we've ever had. The views from the lounge are great, better than watching the TV! The showers in the en suite and bathroom are fantastic. There's everything in the cottage you would need for a great holiday, including a book containing tips on where to park and things to see while in Whitby. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this cottage. The owners obviously take immense pride in presenting their property in the best possible way to their guests.

This was our second time visiting Hideaway cottage in three months, and we loved it just as much as the first time!

The cleanliness is great, the kitchen is fully equipped with everything you would need. the setting of the house is great and the location is perfect - very close to town and a car park right next door. everything was just fantastic ! we will definitely be back !

The accommodation was excellent everything was top quality we have stayed in Whitby cottages many times but I would have to rate hideaway cottage at number 1

Great place to stay, close to Harbour and shops , parking a bit of an issue unless you are happy to use and pay for the pay as you go next to the property.

This was explained at time of booking and parking vouchers for on street included in stay. The house is finely decorated and top quality crockery and utensils.

A hidden gem situated in a shared private courtyard.

Beautifully presented and very well equipped, the cottage was better than the description suggested. Located centrally the cottage is within easy reach of all of Whitby's amenities. Definitely one of the best places we've stayed, and the welcome hamper was gratefully received.

We had an excellent holiday - Hideaway Cottage was a fantastic base with really good facilities, a real home from home - Thank You.

What an amazing property and not too far up any steep hills!

The house was spacious and exactly like the photos, although I think that the views are better in real life. Set in a lovely quiet courtyard, the only noise came from the seagulls, which is expected in any seaside town. We were amazed to find that the sofa was actually as big as it looked in the photos! Lovely welcome pack which was really appreciated. Would love to stay here again.

The cottage is outstanding, the linen, towels and everything inside has been very carefully thought out and to an exacting high standard.

The welcome package was delightful and enjoyed by all. It is centrally located within eady reach if the town centre. The only thing I think should be mentioned is that the courtyard is shared by three properties and therefore a very small area designated to Hideaway Cottage, certainly not enough for say six of you to eat outside or BBQ, especially if others are outside smoking.

We had a wonderful stay at Hideaway cottage.

It is in a great location in the heart of the town. There are views from the lounge of the abbey and a porthole window looking out to sea. We were welcomed with a chilled wine in the fridge and a bag of local goodies which was very much appreciated. The cottage was very clean and equipped with everything you might need. Parking permits were provided but we opted to park at the long stay car park at the marina.

Good location and plenty of space for a family.

Beautiful and well kept property only negative it was hard to find satnav said that we had reached our destination but we couldn’t find it it is set in a courtyard behind a door but once inside it’s a hidden gem we will definitely be booking it again the bedding and pillows were luxury and the beds very comfortable the kitchen and bathrooms were to a very high standard and the property is in a excellent position in the heart of Whitby

Superior accommodation and very central location Could ask for better

This property is in an ideal location within the town.

Everything had been thought of and we wanted for nothing. The welcome hamper was superb! The only thing I would say that could be better is that the sofa is very low and laid back, saying that we didn’t use it much as we were out exploring most of the time.

We have stayed in Whitby several times, but this is by far the best cottage that we have had.

. Superb location, parking was easy and the facilities within the cottage were excellent. Plenty of hot water and the showers were great. Comfy beds, loved the sociable sofa.. Maybe the addition of a dvd/cd player would be great addition... The owners have done a fabulous job on the renovations... Just one point of note, was that when we arrived the cottage was quite cold.. I adjusted the heating but it took ages to heat up in the lounge area, though we did go out for dinner for a couple of hours, upon our return the lounge was quite cosy..... Also we could not find the guests book to fill in.... We will return.. Rob, Jax, Steve and Gill, from Lincoln.

Great central location with just a short walk into the centre of town.

The cottage is beautifully maintained and presented. A lovely welcome pack greeted us. All the bedrooms are spacious and so comfortable. So nice to have such comfortable beds when staying away from home. The kitchen area has everything you could need and is a great social area. Both bathrooms are very modern with great showers. We have nothing but praise. Thank you for such a great weekend.

A lovely, cosy cottage to stay in.

It's very modern & comfortable. I couldn't fault anything about the place. Location is great but as with most cottages/accommodation in Whitby, it's on a hill. The yard space is shared with 2 other properties but you have your own little corner with a bistro table & chairs.

Tucked away, very comfy beds & settee, great bolt hole being so close to town.

Could do with vertical blinds on windows as overlooked, coat hangers, 2 parking permits if on a weekend stay, small milk left instead of ginger cake 4 making tea / coffee,a microwave cover. Nice touches are umbrellas, all general household facilities needed and well informed information booklet.Peaceful location

Superb location for strolling into the town.

Very well kept with every facility required. Only slight complaint, there is a locked freezer in the twin room which buzzes and gurgles which is annoying in the night, also the window looks directly into a neighbour’s kitchen window. However I would highly recommend this property, it ticks the boxes and more!

The cottage is a lovely comfortable warm and welcoming place.

Parking is included which is a huge bonus but prior knowledge of parking arrangements would of been helpful.

Everything you could need. Owner left a bag full of Yorkshire produce an a bottle of bubbly, which was very much appreciated.

What a delightful and comfortable property.

Kitchen was well appointed, lounge was comfortable with great views. Bedrooms and bathrooms were well designed. Access and positioning was as advertised. All in all a great getaway to Whitby and the surrounding areas.

Excellent well equipped cottage in middle of town.

On street Car parking provided free, which was an unexpected bonus. Automatic settings on heating were a little cool for us and we had to turn it up a little which wasn't always successful.
