Pipit House

We had a lovely week in Whitby.

The Cottage has everything you need if you want to eat in or if you have picky eating children like us. We loved the decor and the view from the windows. We arrived to Whitby by train and we didn't have to walk too much as the cottage is very close to town center. Coffee/tea and milk were provided and we really appreciated. Thank you for everything ❤️ PS: Except for people with mobility problems/elderly , do not let the steps to the cottage stop you from having a lovely time in Whitby.

Lovely week away exploring Whitby & area!

The home was as advertised. Kitchen: everything you needed really, used the oven and guessed which setting and then realised that the instructions were in the black folder! Nice touch having a pint of milk in fridge after a 5 hr journey! Much appreciated! Great to find a phone adapter plug as we forgot to pack a plug so that was appreciated too! Lounge: lovely touch having dog basket, bowls etc we have a fussy Cockerpoo so we bought her things with us but great if you forget something and makes you feel like your dog is welcome! Stairs: not ideal for young children or people who struggle with mobility! Myself and our teenager were fine with caution but husband struggled so we slept on first floor and daughter slept on top floor! Bedrooms: comfy single beds, everything you need, double bed was a bit bumpy mattress and not so comfy unfortunately but the view from the top was great! Bathroom: lovely bath! Left some bath bubbles for next person to enjoy! Only thing my husband found was the step out of the shower was a little small if you struggle with mobility. The whole place was lovely and clean too! Parking: as everyone says it’s a nightmare in Whitby! We found the house easily found, just park on the main road if you can then walk up Green Lane, second alley on the left leads you to the house, or if you’re braver then there’s steep stone steps up from the main road to the left of the grassed area! We did park up Green Lane and turn left onto a housing estate road but unfortunately our car was scratched down the side overnight! We then parked on the main road, free and seemed fine! Bus around Whitby is fab too. The house was homely, clean and lovely touches and decorative items, we generally really enjoyed our stay

Lovely little cottage - well equipped and tastefully decorated although steep stairs are not for the fainthearted.

Comfortable bedrooms with great views over the marina. We were entertained all week by the antics of seagull chicks on neighbouring roofs. We do not have a dog and lingering smell of previous four legged guests was noticeable in living room throughout our stay - this area would benefit from a more thorough deep clean.

Loved Pipit house, 2nd time we have stayed there and will definitely stay again.

I was disappointed to be so far out from the town centre close to the boat yard which were busy on a build and banging from 8:00-18:00 you should make clear that this is close by and likely to generate some noise.

Could not drop off where suggested due to closure for bike race… should have been notified of alternative drop off point. Had to park very far away from cottage and struggled to find it. Then had long trek back and forth with belongings. I would not recommend to anyone wanting a quiet relaxing few days away.

Very clean property and well kitted out.

We had difficulty finding the house in the first place. It was let down by the cottages and houses nearby and the difficult steps up to the property. Having said this, the cottage was lovely.

The accomadation it's self was good but did not know how steep the stairs were The double room on the top takes two flights of extremly steep stairs to reach we are both 65 plus not good also parking is horrendous and having to lug your bags up several flights of steps just to reach the cottage not for us we were worn out we took our dogs as it was pet friendly but the back garden is not private it is all open plan to the rest of the cottages I think we were mislead by the photos you just had a tiny bit at the front with pebbles will not be returning

Lovely little cottage, very clean and provided everything we needed.

..and more! (Special facilities for my dog, including fluffy blanket, hairbrush, bowls, etc. we're a welcome surprise.). Parking not so good, but expected - after all, this is Whitby. Anyway, everything was within walking distance and bus connections were very reliable. Definitely recommend Pipit House and I hope to be back soon!

A very nice property on the outskirts of central Whitby.

Pipit House was perfectly sized for 3 with 2 big bedrooms and full-size bathroom - views from main bedroom are excellent. Spotlessly clean throughout. Excellent value for BH week in August. Parking - there isn’t any at the property and to be honest not within a 5 min walk of property, but this is Whitby and known for lack of parking. Easiest way - park at the Abby.

A great cottage, very clean and feels like home from home.

Very stylish with everything you need for your holiday. Only downside is the parking, but you can’t have everything!!!

We were expecting the slight challenges in dropping off the luggage and the steep staircase - the listing info was accurate.

Understand the shared walkway to the cottage is not the owners's sole responsibility but it really is terrible, lined with tall weeds, very littered and generally extremely scruffy. Cottage itself was very clean, top floor beautiful. Some bathroom tiles getting a little mouldy. As a self catering cottage we were expecting to be able to sit at a dining table to eat but there were no chairs, and only 3 easy chairs so for families of 4 presumably someone would be sitting on the floor. The back garden was incredibly weedy, the garden furniture could do with rubbing down and re-treating - it just felt unloved and in need of a little TLC. The TV upstairs was not tuned in and we could only watch Netflix or similar. These are just some honest observations. The cottage is well-equipped, was clean, lovely bed linen and the top floor is great. It was good to note the owners had observed some of the visitors comments (yes we found the Prosecco glasses!)

Comfortable little house but the stairs are very steep.

Plus, with no car access it's hard work bringing the luggage up

had a really great stay at the property.

the location was excellent with it only being a short walk away from the town centre and local amenities. the cottage was clean and homely and the view from the top bedroom was brilliant. there was tea/coffee/sugar/milk and a pack of biscuits which was a nice touch!

Lovely cottage, definitely attend again.
