  • "The lack of parking made the whole week quite stressful."

It got to the point that when we got the car into a space on the street we just left it there so did not use the car to explore the area. It was a huge negative as we had planned to go around the wider area. The house was nice and comfy. Only issues with the house was the non-locking back yard gate, the smell of pee in the yard and the terrible office style blinds which did not block any light for sleeping. Fixed the pee smell with some detergent and hot water but could do nothing about the light and lack of security if the kitchen door was open for the dogs. It was spacious and Whitby is a great place to explore but the parking means we will not be back.

  • "All good except kitchen which had not been well cleaned and was lacking some basics for the price of the rental e."

    G. there weren’t 5 matching glasses only mismatched glasses that looked as though they had come from a pub. There was a small selection of pans. Nothing big enough for a larger party. Floor was sandy and sticky when we arrived. Expected more for over a grand per week.

  • "Good points: - A nicely laid out property (but could do with a second bathroom (6 sharing 1 is not great - but we knew that going in)."

    - condition/ cleanliness of place was good. Negatives- - sea views, non existant (only view is from top room, which even then was limited) - top room, due to seagulls your request is not to open top windows which turns the whole floor into a furnace with no way of cooling the rooms. The noise of the birds nesting is relentless and paired with the heat made sleeping very hard, we had to purchase a large fan on day 2 to make the rooms useable. - you MUST make warning of the large slope into town, i took my parents (mid 70s) which made going into town very hard. - the small courtyard was useful but smelt a lot, i personally disinfected it twice whilst there which helped a little. Overall house ok (excluding top rooms) but would not stay again.

Parking was at a premium, but we were very close to the centre of town. Loads of room in the cottage. Maybe a second shower/bath would have been nice.
