Your coastal getaway starts here. There’s everything you’ll need to rustle up dinner in the smart, fully-equipped kitchen with electric oven, gas hob, microwave, fridge/freezer – plus there’s a small utility with handy washing machine.

After all that fresh sea air and adventure, what could be nicer than relaxing together on an evening over a movie, with a bottle of something chilled and having a good catch up? When it’s time for bed, the comfortable king-size bed with crisp white bed linens is sure to please.

The décor is a restful blend of pale greys and coastal blues.

There are bedside tables with lamps, plus hanging space, a chest of drawers and a rattan chair. There is also a fabulous large shower room with a double-size, walk-in shower cubicle, basin and WC.

No visit is complete without a day at the beach – borrow the picnic hamper provided.

Whitby is one of the few seaside locations where the sun rises and sets over the same bay, very romantic!

The food here is great, whether it’s a plate of Whitby’s finest fish and chips, luxury seafood or a pub meal.

Spend time quayside, in one of the bustling wine bars – perfect for people watching.

Or take a boat trip from the harbour for a different perspective. When you’re ready, explore more of the heritage coast – pretty fishing villages, such as Staithes or Robin Hood’s Bay – are within easy reach.

There are some stunning coastal walks along the cliff tops around these villages.

Or head inland to see the spectacular North York Moors – a ride on the steam train from Whitby is a fantastic experience. The Riddle is a perfect boutique residence for that coastal getaway you’ve been dreaming of.
