The property

A modern duplex apartment with a boutique hotel feel, Treasure Chest is well-placed for exploring Whitby on foot or discovering the nearby attractions of the North York Moors National Park, Cleveland Way National Trail or the fossils and shipwrecks at Saltwick Bay.

Child and pet-friendly with secure parking for one car and on-street parking nearby, Treasure Chest is ideal for a family or small group wanting to explore this wonderful part of North Yorkshire.

Situated over the second and third floors of a modern apartment block, Treasure Chest is in an ideal location, just half a mile away from the centre of Whitby with a pub, butcher's and chip shop just a stone’s throw away.

Enter via the second floor and from the spacious hallway, you’re met with a large open-plan kitchen/living/dining space.

The sitting room has a choice of two leather sofas and a recliner, all gathered around the French doors, opening up onto a small balcony and allowing in plenty of light.

There is a large screen Smart TV, Blu-ray player and stereo, so you have a choice of entertainment, while the dining table has seating for six and is a great place to gather for a home-cooked meal.

The large galley-style kitchen has its own island, so you can prep meals whilst enjoying the view from the balcony or whatever is playing on the TV, along with the rest of the family.

Also on the same floor are two comfy double bedrooms; one is a double with a TV/DVD player, the other is a zip/link super-king that can be split into two singles for a more flexible sleeping arrangement with a TV and Blu-Ray player.

Both bedrooms have striking wall murals, as well as wonderful Velux windows, skylights, soft-carpeted floors and plenty of storage space for your belongings.

There is spacious and bright family bathroom on this floor with pale blue painted walls and a white suite consisting of a bath with shower over, toilet and basin.

Upstairs on the third floor is a sizeable master bedroom, featuring a lake view wall mural with a zip/link super-king-size bed, a comfortable looking love seat, large screen Smart TV and Blu-ray player, coffee table with two chairs, a safe and multiple skylights, you'll never want to leave.

There's even an en-suite with a shower, toilet and basin, so you can get ready for each day in style.

Whitby itself has so much to see and do to keep the whole family entertained; the port has a few dog-friendly restaurants and pubs, parks and activities, plus views of the River Esk and the North Sea.

Visit the ruins of Whitby Abbey, the inspiration for Bram Stoker’s Dracula, go on a spooky guided ghost walk after dark, hike up the 199 steps to the Church of St. Mary and admire the coastal views from the top.

spend the day on Whitby's lovely sandy beach, with its eye-catching colourful beach huts along the sand making it unmissable.

If you visit in April or October, experience the Whitby Goth Weekend festival, devoted to the Gothic lifestyle and its influences.
