Seashells at Runswick Lodge is a pleasing pet-friendly ground-floor apartment in Runswick Bay.

Perfect for families or friends seeking an escape within the North York Moors National Park, boasting a location near the beach and a private patio.

On arrival, off‑road parking for one car makes unloading easy before you step inside via a well‑kept communal entrance hall, setting a welcoming first impression as you enter the apartment.

Inside, the living and dining room is styled in tranquil blue tones, with two cushy sofas and coastal‑inspired framed artwork creating a relaxed space to come together after days spent outdoors.

French doors open directly onto the private patio and shared grassed garden, allowing the light and fresh coastal air to drift inside and encouraging easy mornings and slow evenings spent moving between indoors and out.

The kitchen sits nearby, thoughtfully arranged for the chef of the group, whether you’re preparing a quick breakfast before heading out or gathering back later to enjoy a relaxed supper.

The sleeping accommodation is spread across three bedrooms, each finished with subtle nautical touches that echo the nearby coastline and add character.

One king sized bedroom and one double bedroom, provide comfortable retreats for adults, while the bunk room is ideal for children, making this a flexible choice for families or mixed groups.

The bathroom offers a practical yet welcoming place to unwind, perfect for rinsing off sandy feet or enjoying a long soak after a day of walking.

Outside, the private patio offers a peaceful spot for morning coffee or an evening pause, while the shared garden beyond adds a sense of openness around the apartment.

Set within the North York Moors National Park, there is an abundance of natural beauty waiting to be uncovered; lace up your hiking boots and set out along winding coastal paths, sweeping moorland trails and quiet countryside routes that reward every step.

Take a trip to Staithes Museum to uncover fascinating artefacts, learn about the village’s rich maritime heritage and discover the connections to Captain Cook that shaped this region.

A short drive will also take you to Whitby Abbey, perched dramatically on the clifftop, where stunnning Gothic ruins, sweeping sea views and atmospheric surroundings create an unforgettable backdrop overlooking the town below.

After a action-filled day in North Yorkshire, return to Seashells at Runswick Lodge and unwind.

RUNSWICK BAY

Staithes 2 miles; Whitby 9 miles; Saltburn-by-the-Sea 10 miles.

The historic fishing village of Runswick Bay is without doubt one of the true gems of the Yorkshire Coast, if not the whole of the UK. This picturesque SE-facing village situated 9 miles from Whitby sits in a beautiful sheltered sandy-beached bay backed by spectacular cliffs and moorland scenery. Relatively un-commercialised and with vehicular traffic restricted, the village provides the perfect setting in which to relax and unwind. Relish in taking long walks on either the sandy beach or along the Cleveland Way on the clifftop above. There is much to do in the local area, whether it's visiting Whitby with its famous Abbey, Staithes with its pretty shops, cafes and superb art gallery, or touring the dramatic North York Moors. The lower village houses a local inn serving food along with a spectacularly situated cafe, whilst nearby Hinderwell provides 2 inns, a fish and chip shop, a local butchers and a garage/petrol station. A Co-op is situated at Staithes 2 miles away.
