Ideal for a couple, a small family, or friends seeking time away with their four-legged companion, this welcoming retreat blends traditional character with everyday conveniences and a heart-warming woodburning stove.

Step inside to find the living/dining room, a relaxed space for lingering over meals, playing games, or curling up with a book as the woodburning stove flickers in the background.

The adjoining kitchen provides the essential appliances needed for simple suppers or leisurely breakfasts before a day of exploring.

When evening draws in, follow the staircase to discover a double bedroom and a single room, each offering space to unpack and make yourself at home, along with a bathroom where you can enjoy an unhurried soak or a refreshing shower.

Outside, the enclosed garden invites you to savour the fresh country air, with a gravelled area and patio for sitting out with a morning coffee while your dog potters safely at your feet, or sharing an alfresco drink as the light fades over the surrounding fields.

From the door, you can wander through the village to the nearby pub for a hearty meal, or head a little further to pick up everyday essentials from the local shop.

Spend unhurried days following the winding lanes across the North York Moors National Park, pausing at scenic spots such as the Danby Beacon for sweeping views across heather‑clad hills, or exploring the peaceful woodland trails around the Esk Valley.

You might call in at the Moors National Park Centre, set within beautiful grounds and offering exhibitions, tearoom delights and riverside walks.

However you choose to spend your break, 4 Lilac Cottages promises a delightful base for discovering Ainthorpe, the surrounding villages, and this tranquil corner of North Yorkshire.
